DreamMaster: try using adobe gamma to set up your monitor. works a treat! if you have an adobe product installed go to your control panel and access it through there.

11-16-2004, 03:45 AM
Yikes, what is it!!
It's a slashed throat, isn't it?:D

11-16-2004, 10:13 AM
Hey I see the neck now that you pointed it out.

11-16-2004, 10:26 AM
lol, yes, its a slashed throat.

i'm starting to wish I hadnt have spent as much time on the tattoo on the arm/shoulder - i only ended up blurring it anyway  ah well, lesson learnt perhaps!

11-16-2004, 02:54 PM
messing with a new brush texture I made

11-16-2004, 02:57 PM
Nice thread.

11-16-2004, 04:19 PM
Damn Goro, you've been busy!! You just keep getting better and better!
GOod StuFF!!!

11-16-2004, 05:02 PM

11-17-2004, 05:11 AM
Goro, nice one, I can see you play around with some new brush now:D .

DreamMaster, Hey..I also plan to do that portrait later:D ..nice try ,mate!

11-17-2004, 05:49 AM

11-17-2004, 07:48 PM
thnx Dreammaster! Looks good your study!

11-18-2004, 12:14 PM
GORO! That is really beautiful, i like it a lot, wonderful colors and lighting. And the smoke! i am speechless :)

11-18-2004, 06:48 PM
thnx tuzz! Glad you like it

11-18-2004, 10:32 PM
Goro, the motion you have captured in that image is beautiful.

On a side note, what brushes do you tend to use? You've got a certain style down at the moment that has a lovely rough look to it.

11-19-2004, 03:49 PM
Goro, I like the last two images you posted. great work.:D

here for today, study for reflection.

11-19-2004, 06:30 PM
erilaz thnx for you kind words. Well I played around with some custom brushes I created.
It's fun to paint with your own brushes :)

Androgs thnx! nice approach btw. I see where you're going. I'm still not very good in
reflections but I think that reflections have soft and hard transitions. The brushstrokes
you made are a bit blobby. It doesn't work well. Did you see my little 5min reflection tutorial?
It can be found here ( Just unrar and open the reflections.html
Maybe I should try little more reflectionstuff too. But it's so hard to understand :(
anyways nice painting

and today's painting

11-20-2004, 01:57 AM
Goro! Thanks for the input, that's what I need about:D!! you're right, I still have some very hard time doing the reflection. hmm..maybe I just suggest some reflection theme for the daily sketch? I think that would be a good study:D. btw..your file doesn't work, it have a corrupt on it. Do you have the same tutorial in your site? maybe I'll just check it directly to your site.;)!.

btw, your last one is nice one..have a nice mood on it.

11-20-2004, 07:28 PM
I challenged also the little SD spiderman! Was hard to figure out the reflections
even it's a very simple background....

11-21-2004, 08:59 AM
Looking very nice goro!!
Here are 2 I just did, for fun from memory.. trying to get a better grip at general skin tones :)

11-21-2004, 01:14 PM
:Dnice one, Goro!! the reflection is better than mine.:) I think to try again later and this time..maybe a car. ;)

11-21-2004, 08:59 PM
Thnx crazyconcepts and nice paintings. You have your own style!

Thnx Androgs! Car!! you're a though guy:)

Here is another try on reflections

Hehe libor I'll think about it.

Cyanid nice approach! The walls of the cave are two dark though....looks like
R 0 G 0 B 0
It would be great if there comes a little bit of light out of the cave. Giving more
structure on the rocks.

Here is another concept

... my speed- 25min PsP

11-27-2004, 03:40 PM
Hi everyone, this is my first speed paint submission. I was just practicing how to paint in photoshop and came up with this (because i'm always using painter).

I made this in less than 1 hour.

btw, can u give me some tips? how do u blend edges using photoshop? there isn't a blender brush same in painter. and i've read from forums that using the smudge tool doesn't work well.

11-29-2004, 11:22 AM
Thanks, Araval:D

11-30-2004, 12:04 AM
well done Androgs the guitar looks awesome! Maybe the hightlihgt is a bit too soft. But the hard edge is wonderful!

thnx avaral!

Hi pocanman welcome to the speedies thread...well blend edges...when you use a wacom
you can set the opacity to pen pressure then you can blend the colors using pen pressure and
alt key for the color picker. You can merge the colors together then. It works pretty good.

I'm joining the sketchgroup the last couple of days so no time for speedies right now...but I'll come back;) maybe tomorrow

11-30-2004, 11:51 AM
Hey, just dropped in to say i love that ship design Goro!

11-30-2004, 02:17 PM
Thanks Goro, I think I must stick with reflection thing a bit longer now:D.

12-07-2004, 11:44 PM
@Androgs, Goro, zin-Y, ajax: Thanks for warm words, glad you like it. It was 10 minutes cause i used reference, sorry forgot to mention it. ;) Everyone - very inspiring paints, now i know why i love this thread :) Keep it up!

12-08-2004, 11:17 AM
DreamMaster, Thanks for the suggestion, you're right..hehe..besides get frustated with the lighting, I also get frustated with detail..hmmm...I really have to push myself harder now:sad: , but I'll surely keep trying my best;), and about Rembrandt's thing..I plan to do one more...maybe the old self portrait just like you've done before or another else:D .its really a good study!

Feng Lei : nice design sketches - motivates me to design some too :) Goro: what a flow - respect :D
Here is my "sponsored" dragon:

12-09-2004, 11:30 AM
;) Thanks Goro, here's another speedy, done for my short 3d's cd cover, dunno if this one already good or not, the text in english is" Garbage Can". if there's anyone want to give me an input how I can improve the scene, that would be very nice;)

12-09-2004, 02:43 PM
Androgs, nice one. the main thing that stood out to me was that the text doesn't really curve with the can. also the bottom of the can should be slightly more rounded than the top. I might also shift the whole image a very little to the left because it's almost too centered now. But i love the textures and colors. Nice work

12-09-2004, 04:47 PM
just a quicke.

about half an hour to forty minutes in photoshop cs:

Technically not a speed paint because I used a screen capture buuuuut, thought there would be no harm in posting :)

40 minutes in painter trying to relax and unwind. was fun to do and decided to stop when i got to the eyes (or at least one eye thatd be visible).

Goro - I love your last piece: nice style to it, very cave painting esque.  *currently nathans desktop image*

12-14-2004, 06:39 PM
feng lei: cute.

Is it cool to put daily sketch things in here?
(4 hrs, photopaint 10, custom brushes)

12-14-2004, 07:55 PM
Painter IX... 1 hour ... I think I might make it a project to finish :D Would be a good artwork for holiday! ;)

Edited: I love your artwork B. :D Cute tazan and yeti ;) I love the background also! Keep it up!

12-15-2004, 01:11 PM
Ok so mabey it is not as good as alot of you , but I am not good at fast work. SO this is a pencil drawing scanned in then painted. It is of a dragon, I was not able to get the Lightning correct, as well the "orb" seems to lack a bit of luster. Howevre I do like the way his body turned out. I could pick it apart I guess, but in 30 min or less this is what I came up with.

12-15-2004, 04:22 PM
Just a quick painting

Any idea how to go on?

Sorry for big image....

12-16-2004, 02:18 AM
a little translucentreflectionrefractionstudy :D

12-16-2004, 07:01 AM
Hey! Decided its about time I learned painter.. so scanned one of my figure drawing sketches I did this year and grabbed the waterpaint.. just under one hour. Goro, how on earth do you get so much texture in your paintings?

12-16-2004, 03:15 PM
woah, Goro and FoulSoul, love the works!!! especially for speedpaints
Here is one from me 40-50 minutes... (christmas sort of postcard)
Again with a mouse :( [bummer!]
Thanks for the brushes Zhuzhu!

Santa is comming across:D

12-16-2004, 04:14 PM
thanks zng-Y, yours aren't too shabby, just a little too orange. That was actually my first speedpaint ever and you may pick up that Im still reluctant to do faces. :D We really need some more video captures of how people speedpaint to pick up new techniques and styles. I'll paint another one tommorrow.

12-16-2004, 06:05 PM
my first serious one 2 :) . The page before was my realy first, only that was more exploring...

12-17-2004, 06:02 PM
Still messing around with painter... couldnt really get brush textures going in photoshop or painter so experimented with digital watercolor. :) Only thing I hate about painter is sometimes you struggle getting the brushes to work like you want them to.

quick one (roughly 30mins):

12-17-2004, 09:54 PM
thnx zng-Y

FoulSoul I often use some custom brushes with random structure and paint the basic colors for the bg first. I paint also some textures in painter randomly and then I experiment with
layermodes sometimes. The brushstructure you see in the painting below is from painter.

12-17-2004, 10:17 PM
Aah.. so you use brushes that put down random shapes etc.. gotta experiment some more. By the way... your speedpaints are brilliant, like this last one is a complex scene but put down on canvas with minimum effort. I swear you must be cheating somehow...

12-18-2004, 04:08 PM
getting into the holiday mood. 30 min painter 8.
by the way, goro, really nice stuff!

12-18-2004, 11:06 PM
Thnx FoulSoul and Johweedee!

Hello! it was a long time ago since i made a posting here ;))) now i'm back ;)
this picture took me about 35 min with Photoshop

12-19-2004, 10:00 AM
Kekata: That's a very fine painting! If I would have to crit on something, then I'd say that the shoes are a tad too big for her.

Photoshop CS, about 2 hours.
This one was mostly an experiment on light, reflections in water and actually speedpainting ;)

12-19-2004, 10:03 AM
Really Cool Elenion!
I like it! Good way to make cave! Nice1

12-19-2004, 12:01 PM

12-19-2004, 09:52 PM
nice job goro :)
im having some minor problems with photoshop... i miss the ctrl+alt brush resize and space+alt canvas rotate

12-19-2004, 10:11 PM
I can't help you with canvas rotate ( and I don't see a reason why I would need it often?! ), but you can resize brushes with the + and - keys on your keyboard. That I use regularly ;)

12-22-2004, 06:44 PM hope could to see

12-23-2004, 01:39 PM
Ok, this one is absolutely not a speed painting, I spend too much on this and still not finish yet. it's a WIP for my newest work for Christmas theme. when I finished it, I'll post at 2d finished section;).I don't have much time recently to do a painting, hiks..! But I really want to greets you all a Happy Merry Christmas, so here's all I can do.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!!:)

12-23-2004, 08:33 PM
I'm embarrased.

A little joke that my friends talk about. I did this in about an hour... I'm slow, and I need to practice a lot more. (I haven't really been able to draw for several months)

12-23-2004, 10:07 PM
Here is another SP from my dragon series....Its really dirrrty one
... but hey! Its a dragon painting portrait of me... just an idea. I just had to visualise it (an show it too) Merry Christmas all You beautiful artists !

12-24-2004, 02:39 PM
thnx brutal monk! Well I will see what I can do! Maybe I'll caputure my next paining. then I can post it here.

like you last one wojtala! Looks like watercolor. Also like the idea!
hehe so merry xmas to you too!

12-24-2004, 04:45 PM
Goro you should really try recording a speedpainting session with camtasia or other screen capture software. Sound is of course optional, and i will be glad to help provide some hosting to get it spread around :D

Please do because a video says more than a thousand words in a tutorial really does :D :D :D

12-24-2004, 05:50 PM
here are some of mine :-) 5 min. heheh, no ref. 30 min., no ref.

30 min., partial ref.

thx for viewing!

12-25-2004, 06:34 AM
another somewhat Christmasy one. Merry Christmas everyone!
30ish min, photoshop

12-26-2004, 12:33 AM
After long time of watching this great thread, here´s my first one.
I´m pretty new to digital painting but it makes a lot of fun and seems to be much more spontaneous than 3D to me.
Hope you like it!

Approx 1 hour with ArtPad II and Photoshop 6 no Ref

12-26-2004, 11:12 PM
My first time using my new Wacom and Painter 8: (and making anything 2D on the comp.)

12-27-2004, 12:03 AM
Ok, here's my second attempt. Still looks very dull, and fake. Anyone got some suggestions, or tutorials for Painter?

12-27-2004, 02:16 AM
@ antwawn:
There´s a complete Painter forum at CGTalk :)

I think there you´ll find what you´re looking for.

12-28-2004, 09:23 PM
Okay im back again. Just finished working this month and will try and get 1 speedpaint a day in here... hopefully i will one day be amongst goro and all you others here in greatness ;D ;D

Anyways im trying to break my habit of only painting city scapes.. so here goes what started as a blob of paint on my canvas... no ref, about 30 mins.

12-29-2004, 12:21 AM
This is my first post on cgtalk, ever. I've been watching this speedpaint thread for a few weeks now and I must saw I am very impressed with the work that everyone is putting up. Goro, you need to slow down man, you're too good. Give the rest of us a chance to catch up!
Anyway, I just got a new Wacom Tablet (I3 9x12) for Christmas and have decided I want to start doing some painting in Photoshop with my free time. Here is a quick "study" of some carrots I did. Just experimenting with the brushes and trying to familiarize myself with the program. Took me maybe 2 hours (way too long I know) but I was experimenting with different brushes and whatnot, general PS learning).

12-29-2004, 03:09 AM
Here´s a leg of a robot. I just started painting. No Ref
Don´t ask what the two wings are for :)

Photoshop 6 and ArtPad II

Painting rocks :buttrock:

12-29-2004, 03:12 AM
@ louwatson: Nice! The upper one looks very slimy :)
Like made of...carrot-jelly!

12-29-2004, 11:54 AM
Here is the paint of the day ...

12-29-2004, 01:14 PM
Second speedpaint of today.. 30 minutes with ref, in painter ix

12-29-2004, 03:00 PM
Hope everyone had a great christmas. Have checked this thread out quite a bit and been very impressed with all the varied styles here (especially by Goro's stuff) - this is my first post here though.

This is a study for a Joan of Arc type painting maybe with a futuristic twist. Done in Painter 8 I used a reference for it. Around an hour. Got frustrated trying to paint dishevelled hair so here it is.

Is this thread just for painting or are pencil sketches allowed too ? Here's a pencil sketch I did on the train recently - it also took me about an hour. No refs used.

(You might have spotted that drawing long hair isn't my greatest talent)

12-29-2004, 04:55 PM
Hi everyone
Nice works everyvere.
I am in a puzzle cuz my first wacom painting. i donnu is it good?
I would like to go on with this picture i am star wars fan ;-)

My very first landscape :hmm:
Still a lot to learn

1hr 30 min

12-31-2004, 03:10 PM
Because of the very bad rock in the painting before, I started to think about the structure of rocks. That´s the result

30 min PS 6

What do you think?

brush study
5 min, painter 9, mouse

01-02-2005, 11:14 PM

After seeing some of the jungle concept art from the remake of King Kong, I had an urge to draw a moss covered log :)..

About 70 mins (an episode of Stargate and a bit :) ).

01-03-2005, 08:46 AM
Very nice.. i particular like the way you added small peices of vegetation hanging from both the vine, and log.. looks nice :D :D

Painter ??

01-03-2005, 12:36 PM
Some more interesting work here from everyone ! It's great to have a place to stick quick stuff that wouldn't really deserve it's own thread.

Amospheric work Stoo - Nice Work.

Nice Eye Tadbit- great feeling of depth.

Here's a half hour sketch created in Painter using the same palette as the last one I posted.

01-03-2005, 03:02 PM
@swoop: Cheers! It was painted in PS 7, with a wide stipply brush for the background, and one of those grass brushes at 4 point for the moss.

@Tonik: How do you choose your skin colour pallete? I always choose "skin" colours but end up with stuff much less convincing and alive.

01-03-2005, 03:36 PM
Thanks Tonik, nice palet you have going.

This is a painting i started today. Ill finish it up later but I decided to it was done enough to show here.
15 to 20 min, Painter 9, mouse.

01-03-2005, 05:49 PM
Interesting stuff Everyone...
Here are some of my new dragons speedpaints - about 30 m. each

01-03-2005, 06:24 PM
I love dragons and these are great. I've tried drawing some before but have never had too much success.

Thanks Tadbit !

Stoo - I know it doesn't look like it from my stuff but the works of Carlos Huantes and Simon Bisley have played a huge part in helping me to learn how to create a palette for skin tones. I haven't been brave enough yet to use blues, greens and yellows to the extent that they have to create a fleshy feel but it got me looking at the tones in a different way. A lot of my stuff had quite a monochromatic feel because I started off with one colour and then either mixed in white or black to lighten or darken it. Recently I've been playing around with adding a variety of primary colours to the mix instead and I quite like the way some of them look. Looking at the way Rembrandt used colour and light has also been a huge influence. I relooked at them recently and was amazed at everything I hadn't really noticed before.

01-03-2005, 10:02 PM
Here are my 2 speedys of the day. 1 for forgetting yesterday, and todays. Also my first portrait speedpaint. Both from reference, and the beach one 30 mins, and final one 45 minutes ...

Here ya go:

30 mins, painter IX, reference.

45 mins, Painter IX, reference

Njoy !

01-04-2005, 09:05 AM
Just getting used to Wacom. This took bout an hour in PS, my hands as reference. I sure got my use of of the wacom pen's eraser..
On deviant art I named it "choke."

01-05-2005, 12:25 PM
@ Wojtala: Wow, I like the second one! Very nice mood. Also the greenish tint is enhancing the mood a lot.

01-05-2005, 02:21 PM

01-07-2005, 07:18 PM
aaaw Goro thanks. nice to watch how you paint. By the way... with which program did you make the screencapture?

Was Techsmith Camtasia studio, you can see the application window just before video ends.

Thanks a ton, Goro, it's a pleasure to see you paint (especially for a complete beginner like me)

01-07-2005, 07:32 PM
hey thanks alot Baramin.

01-08-2005, 08:26 AM
30 mins, painter ix, not that good :(

01-08-2005, 08:58 AM
doesn't look bad swoop. Just try to go way more saturated in the highlight areas.

Sunlight makes very saturated highlights....maybe choose a yelloish green in the bright areas.

01-08-2005, 03:35 PM
Thanks on the color tips there Goro.. exactly what i needed.. :D

Anyways gonna do one more tonight :D see if i can nail thoose jungle colors :D

01-08-2005, 11:08 PM
here's another one

01-08-2005, 11:18 PM
Again let me be the first to say, again, awsome ! :D
I really like it.. good coloring, nice composition .. only needs a bit more indication of perhaps a ship or something in the bg ;)
Cant wait for more videos from GORO :D :D hehe

01-09-2005, 05:34 AM

quick paint
45 min

01-09-2005, 12:54 PM
I didn't want to post again without having another pic, but everything is going badly and nothing is suitable for you guys to view :). I'll try and do something else today.

Anyway Goro, how do you come up with all these cool subjects? Do you do little thumbnails before hand, or do you make up all the stuff on the fly?

The art in here is getting really good from everyone, definately an inspiration to get better if nothing else.

01-09-2005, 01:39 PM
45 mins in Painter IX, no reference....

01-10-2005, 12:25 AM
stoo mostly I work straight forward on the fly. Sometimes I have a picture in my mind.
Then I try to paint it...sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't

01-12-2005, 10:12 AM

01-12-2005, 02:09 PM
All of you, are doing some great paintings. So I've made a speed painting. Painted in Painter and blurred in Photoshop. Took about 2 hours. I used reference. This is my first painting ever with a digitizer, and I know that my painting isn't good. But anyways, one image must be the first though;) But may you all keep up the good work!

01-12-2005, 10:55 PM
thanks swoop. ah another quickie. just playing around with lighting a character. about 10 min in photoshop.

01-12-2005, 11:30 PM
wizard in the forest
30 min

01-13-2005, 02:48 AM

01-13-2005, 09:01 AM
johweedee nice! But I would suggest you to practice lighting using some photo reference
pictures. That would help a lot. At the moment your paintings are very monochrome.
keep it up

swoop! Your Jedi mind tricks don't work on me....I'm a Tidarian! :scream:

hehe nice brkofdon

ref used

01-13-2005, 09:20 AM
man Goro, you're supposed to post self-painted pics, not photos ;)
really great work!

01-13-2005, 02:00 PM
goro, thanks for the advice. nice piece, btw. you've inspired me to a surfing pic as well.
here's another speedie because i don't want to do work.:p about 2 hrs, photoshop. ref used.

01-13-2005, 02:59 PM
HI all here's ny speedpaint.
I used Goro's tut to make it...
Bit Goro style, but i like it.
There will be some correction on it ;)

Nice pictures, i think this thread make us better painter, i think

Photoshop, tablet... 20- 30 min

01-13-2005, 03:51 PM
heRE's a little update :)

+10 min or a little bit more

Goro, can You tell me how to add more details to the "city" i have no idea how to make a realistic future city :)

01-13-2005, 03:53 PM

Thats ......... AMAZING !!! how the heck did you get that image so .... like the real image !!??!?!? you got to record you doing an image like this sometime ...

01-13-2005, 09:52 PM
thnx tuzz!

johweedee that's the right way! Looking good!

Brutal monk I suggest you the same. Do a lot of photoref paintings...that is a good
way to understand lighting, values, shapes ect. There is no trick in adding details and stuff.
It's all about practice.

thnx swoop! Well it was my 263rd painting. So it has to be better than my old ref pics. ;)
Well but this one was really hard....
I'm sure you will get there soon. Just keep on painting! :)

01-13-2005, 10:49 PM
woah Goro, the water on the surfer-piece is realy awesome. Once i tried water 2 but its realy hard!

01-14-2005, 04:18 AM
Hi all! this is my lastest work with the tablet. I'm not as skilled as you guys I started to practice on december. So any advise is totally welcome! I used photo ref. took me a little less than an hour. :)

01-14-2005, 09:48 AM

Think i need to get into some ref images with people in them.. suck at doing people ;) hehe
Anyways great image as usualy, and please DO record some more.. i will gladly help provide webspace etc for videos from you mate ;)
Currently switching to another webhost.. so i will be getting about the double amount of space to waste ;)

01-15-2005, 07:50 AM
hey what exactly is speed paint? any rules? like time, or medium? I'm not familiar with this kind of thread.
Btw everybody work rocks on this thread. applause.

01-15-2005, 08:59 AM
I have being sick all this week ... thus today I felt like doing nothing! :D except 4 relaxing and painting something. Hope you all like it. Any crit will be welcome.

This was made using Goro's brushes!.. Really nice brushes man.! Thnxs for sharing them! By the way ... your work RULES!

Photo ref. - took me 2 hours - photoshop.

(Cecile) Im new on this too, so Im not sure if there are especific rules for this thread, but I guess is just paint with any digital tablet with any software for not too long! If Im wrong someone correct me!

01-15-2005, 09:13 AM
thnx zng-Y

hey sempernow looking good! One thing though...the water doesn't look like water...cause
the reflection is blueish while the sky is orange....don't get it. The Water should have almost
the same color as the sky. Well but maybe the reference was already color corrected.
Anyways great work!

Hi cecile! Nice to see you here!
Well Speedpaintings are images painted in a short amount of time like 30min up to 2 hours.
If you paint fast you learn to simplify things and you get better in lighting, values and shapes
So just join in and post your paintings ;)

I won't do speedies in the next days I guess....cause I'm touching up a speedpaint I did
a few days ago. I want to finalize it ;)

01-15-2005, 09:26 AM
Hi Everyone!
i'va made a new speed paint.
It is not finished, but i tried to practise the lightning on it. Is that "good" ?
No ref used. The idea come from the "shoot the bigest one first" or something like that. I will add some fire on it and an other bg.
1,5 hour, photoshop, tablet.
Thanx, Dave

01-15-2005, 10:12 AM
Hi there!

I doodled around a bit in Photoshop CS:

On you'll find in the download section a tutorial to this one. It's the FR.WMV - Windows Media File. It's recommended to save target as ...
Just tried out my screen capture software. I know it's very loose, but maybe interesting for you.

The shot isn't planned well, did this stuff more for fun. Don't get confused about the painting velocity. It's speeded up to 400%. 50 minutes painting, 12 minutes the tutorial clip.

@ sempernow: Looks like watercolor.. Nice painting!

@ Brutal monk: Maybe the torso and the hip need some more work.

01-16-2005, 11:42 AM
Hi Guys Here's the update of the robo.
Ehh.... the time is now 2 h 10 min so no more speedpaint :(
BTW i will go on with this pic, so maybe i will make a wip thread. So here's the pic:

Thanx, Dave

01-16-2005, 12:35 PM
hi artists, made this in 30-40 mins. in corel painter with tablet...comments are always welcome.... :)

01-16-2005, 07:55 PM
thnxs Goro for your crit! Yeah I think the original photo was color corrected. I would have that into consideration the next pic ( need to practice with more realistic photos)

thnxs I-NetGraFX and really nice work, nice atmosphere. I also saw your video. really nice stuff. I cant believe how intituive you are when painting, Im always using photo ref.

This is my last painting (inspired in Goro's surfer, but I wanna tried with snow, hehehe).
Photo ref. 1h.30m. hope you all like it ... and any crit is welcome as usual!:)

01-17-2005, 12:30 AM
NIce images everybody :D Goro cant wait to see that finished image :D

Here is my leatest, which should be featured as a video tutorial on the next issue of Computer Arts Magazine.. so hope you enjoy :D

01-17-2005, 03:12 AM
nice stuff, people. here's another. couldn't decide which image i liked better so i made an animated gif. which one do you like better?

01-17-2005, 03:30 AM
couldn't decide which image i liked better so i made an animated gif. which one do you like better?

I think I like the one where the background is in focus better, both really nice though.

01-17-2005, 03:32 AM
that is a tough one johweedee. i think maybe slow transition of two in gif animation will be the best choice! ^^; great work either ways.
good to see your stuff here Inetgrafx!
ass kickin stuff everyone, tequila for everyone.

some cold winter themed quickies.
little over an hour. (took roughly 2 hours with other things such as harrassing friends via instant messenger) painter pscs
50 minutes painter+pscs

01-17-2005, 09:51 AM
Wow wicked pics guys! Too much good stuff to comment on :).

Johweedee - I slightly prefer the one with the background in focus, but I think its ace as a gif file!

I-NetGraFX - Thanks for the video! I love watching how people paint, and it very helpful to see some of the tricks you do. (Well not tricks as such, but the full-image gradients and things).

Shyamshriram - Thats an awesome portrait with really interesting colours. I still don't understand how people pick their colour schemes so well, hope to get to your level one day.

01-17-2005, 10:45 AM
Very nice people.. i like them all ;) Good coloring choice on the winter theme there.. love the bluish colors.. gave me a chill ;)
Se: love the one with the bg in focus... seems more natural somehow... awsome detail on the foreground though. Even when it's blurred :D

01-17-2005, 11:32 AM
My first speedpaint. johweedee great concept!

A jellyfish robot done in about 45 minutes with photoshop and a bit of painter. I'm trying to give to the paintings more texture.

Another robot! This one takes me more time, maybe an hour. Only photoshop.

01-19-2005, 08:15 PM
