Here is mine! :p
06-15-2004, 06:30 PM
Ra1Der, I really like your image, but please get rid of the lens flare! Instead, capture the effect through color and paint, not a PS filter. The rest of the image is great though I would probably crop away the left side or really widen it for a nice panoramic image.
Pierrick, great images! Love the use of color and the brush strokes really give a good sense of movement and volume in both of the images. The only crit I can think of is to give the white space where you have the lights for the vehicle some texture. But overall, these are great!
06-15-2004, 09:26 PM
I made that sketch in 30 min. Just doodled at the beginning and colored it quickly with three main colors. :)
(I was experimenting with "marker" brush.. i think it made an interesting result with flames, etc.)
06-16-2004, 09:34 PM
cooooooooooooool, thats reallly nice! and ya a dev art user to :D
06-17-2004, 01:47 AM
Hehe thanks! :D
I made other sketch today. It turned way better than I thought. I was experimenting with watercolor painting brush and behold... it came out like that. Surprised myself. :D

Not exactly a speedpaint, but I did this last night in about an hour and a half. Painter 8, Pen Tool, no reference.
06-25-2004, 07:16 AM
Hey where did Goro go??
I have not seen him post anything for a while, i was getting used to him posting on a regulare basis??
06-25-2004, 11:48 AM
been messing around with negative shadows lately
I'm still alive:) I switched with my daily paintings to the daily sketchgroup.
You can see my stuff there.
Just bought "Aliens" Special Edition DVD /my favorite movie/, so here is an speed painting from reference. About 10 min in Painter 8. Sketch is painted for "speedpainting IV" thread on sijun.com
06-26-2004, 07:29 AM
Thanks for letting me know where you are. I like to see your work.
That alien painting is really sweet, are you jazzed about the AVP movie??
Oxyg3n: didn't like the sketchgrouptopic of today. So I made this little speedy
1h 30min photoshop
06-27-2004, 04:26 AM
OH this is different than the scenes you where doing. I have yet to go to the daily sketch forum. I really need to make it over there. What does meus and cuft mean??
06-27-2004, 04:46 AM
06-27-2004, 04:48 AM
The bottom image is vrey nice. I love the lighting and the atmosphere.
06-27-2004, 10:06 AM
I wasn't really into today's sketch topic either.
15 minutes, Painter 8. I did this at night, so it's pretty low contrast.
meas and cuft.... I don't know it either :)
I used a cardbox texture as a softlight layer. I thought the typo
fits well with the image.
nice one henrik

PS CS :) Intro 2 tablet.. 1 hour and 30 min
06-28-2004, 07:59 AM
Drawing symmetric eyes is hard even if you have a Loomis reference.
Painter 8, less than an hour I think.

A quick sketch for today....about 40min.
07-02-2004, 12:33 AM
All has been done in Photoshop CS with Intros2 tablet... three sketches from two days period.
Please let me know what you think of it or any comments are welcome! ;) So... feel free to do that.
I personally think that doing sketches everyday has helped my skills so much. Sketching is so WORTH it! :D
07-02-2004, 12:39 PM
Hi, DreamMaster, I think all your sketch are really nice :), and Goro, that one is beautiful!! Great job you two!!
here's mine for today, 50 minutes, photoshop
07-02-2004, 09:07 PM
About 1 hour in painter 6 :D just messing about :D
07-02-2004, 10:50 PM
Swoop that looks very nice. Keep up the good work
07-03-2004, 02:20 AM
Here's some more of mine.. I spent more time on them and I no longer need a "slap the soft light textured layer to it" shortcut. Lol
I call it "The Awakening Nature." About 4 hours spent on it. My first real digital work (the rest sucks mind you). Used Photoshop CS w/ intros 2 tablet
I call that "The Sleeping Nature." About two hours spent on it in Photoshop CS with Intros 2 tablet (I still have wacom tablet and no one wants it... oh well).
Now to my comments...
Sweep: Love your sketch! Awesome glowing halo... think it'd quite be a successful if you work on it like a serious project. :)
Androgs: It looks great but try adding some more colors to it... spice it up ;) In real life.. there's no one solid color. :)
Goro: I always admire your work... care to tell me how you master it? Hehe... love your quick sketch of that lady :)
natt...: Water can be hard, but adding some reflections will help much and add some more faint lights there. :) Make it more mmm wavy I guess. But well done for your sky
Car...: Your work is great.. love it. Very simple, but worked very well with "soft-light" textured layer (I assume u used that shortcut). Or if that was a textured brush.. that's still great. Great concept.
To everybody (and others that I haven't mentioned), I always admire your work.. you inspire me to go further and further! Thanks very much for that. I know Im not as active in cgtalk as much as I would like to be, but I still enjoy surfing here... high quality professional artworks.. that's what I like to see!
Have fun everybody. Cya.
07-03-2004, 10:33 AM
It's swOOp hehe ;) and tnaks for the crits :D
This actually started as a serious project, and ended up with this because i got lazy hehe :D

07-03-2004, 11:40 PM
Oops Swoop! Sorry about that! :) I guess I'm used to type Sweep? No... I don't remember why I typed Sweep.. I guess I misread your nickname or something. Lol I apologize again :)
Hey other great artwork... that I think would be way good if you work more on it lol, but.. it's just a sketch right? lol so... still good :D
Here's mine for today- Photoshop CS w/ Intros2 tablet for approx. 1 hour and 30 min
07-04-2004, 10:23 AM
I like your work DreamMaster (member.php?u=15676). Very clean and bright :D

Thats.. how do i put it... so awsome it almsot made me want to quit hehe :D
Great job there henrik :D
07-05-2004, 03:52 PM
Not really a speedy but also not a finished painting :hmm:
About 3 1/2 hours in Photoshop
and a really speedy speadpaint .. just a test :)
07-05-2004, 07:53 PM
Swoop.. good boy! ;) Keep it up. I love that light scattering! And thanks! :D Sure, I can contact u... but in which way? PM? MSN? etc.?
henrik: Cool! You made me want to quit too! You're too good! Care to tell me how you do it? Tutorial? (please?) :D
BG|Blank: That's awesome! :D Like that spiderman, but I think it would be better if it has more lighting or something.. just like 2nd one.. moody lighting technique.. you know what I'm saying? :)
And I know my artworks are down.. argh I wish I have my own website, but no money for now. :( *sobs* bucket.com isn't the best one I thought it would be. :P Anyone know any better link that allows hotlinking?
I know this spiderman picture.
You should be careful with posting stuff like that without mentioning the
original artist or that this is traced or maybe just touched up the orignal picture.
You can easily ruin your name when you want to find a job in the business.
There are some guys out there steeling paintings from other artists.
So if you post images which are not from you, you should add some informations about it.
Just an advice!
07-05-2004, 08:44 PM
agree .. seems mostly like a paintover, which you can learn from, but never forget to mention that you didnt do the original hehe :D
Well just pm me over the site if you wanna work on something DreamMaster, but as i said im still a rookie in painting hehe :D
07-05-2004, 10:32 PM
Hehe ok Swoop. :)
Yeah I agree with Goro.. I hate it when ppl do the artwork without mentioning the original one if it was a paint over or used as a reference or something similar. I'd still love it if it is a paint over... it's still good. :)
Anyways.. here's 2 more artworks I did lately.. but I hate all of them.. wrong anomty, wrong persective, wrong color, wrong everything. :P Grrrrrr! I give up.. I think I'm losing my artistic sense! *sighs* Here ya go...
Thnx henrik. Yea I have still a lot of difficulties with anatomy....
Awesome pic btw. You are a great artist!
not much time thesedays....40min ps
07-06-2004, 12:45 PM
Great work Goro and henrik.
And thanks for telling me about mentioning the original artist.
Well, I'm 15 years from Germany so I'm not yet searching for a job right now. I'm just having fun at this but thanks anyway.
07-06-2004, 02:35 PM

07-10-2004, 10:33 AM
I love the look on the last one dude. So intense look, and awsome colors... bring it to me hehe :D
Would love to see a walkthough on how hehe :D looks amazing i think :D
07-11-2004, 05:33 PM
was about 2 am when i did this mybe 15 mins put into it, mostly thinking..... probly will continue it, i like it
As I said here already I started speedpainting about 3months ago now.
Since then I'm painting at least one image per day.
This one is No. 127 an overpaint of No. 22
There are exactly 3 months between those two paintings.
Thought it would be interesting to compare those two.
07-13-2004, 08:36 AM
Good work guys, here's today's joke:
07-13-2004, 08:15 PM
Awsome job.. i like how you have alot of improvemtn on blending and details :D
Henrik: awsome job as always.. i like the coloring alot, since its very realistic in coloring i think. very nice job. would like to see a walkthrough of one of your images someday Henrik :D
Awesome work henrik your stuff is always stunning!
and thnx swoop
07-15-2004, 05:46 PM
man. some awesome stuff here!! Great work all!! here's mine 2 hour in painter + photoshop.
Androgs nice one. Try to get rid of the blurry look.
You're making great improvements!
ps about an hour
07-16-2004, 12:18 AM
Great work there goro. I love the dark soldier one. Great mood i think. Would love to be able to get something working so subtle :D
As for Androgs:
Try cleaning it up a little. Spend like 20 mins or so, making some clearer lines, and get rid of the blurry look. I know it's hard to avoid, but generally a non-blurry line is gonna read much better, even though the color might not match completely (if you follow me, if not then disregard me hehe).
Also the colored lights doesnt fit i think. But good mood. Just needs a little more clean lines, and perhaps some exdtra detailing lines and it would be perfect.
Usign a Ryan Church dvd ? hehe caus it looks kinda like the look i first god from using thoose hehe :D
07-16-2004, 07:07 AM
:)Thanks, Goro. I think from now on I must avoid blur in my sp. btw you have a nice one there.;)
(Usign a Ryan Church dvd ? hehe caus it looks kinda like the look i first god from using thoose hehe :D)
Swoop, hehe:p , you really catch me up, yeah that dvd is awesome, soo inspiring to do such thing, and you're right about the blur thing, next time I will avoid to use those in my sp:hmm: . Many Thanks for the tips and encouragement. I still get shock and laugh as you discovered that I used Ryan Church dvd, haha!!
07-16-2004, 10:25 AM
I try and use his dvds myself.
Which one do you have (or which ones) ? Im guessing the one about mediaval architecture ?
I own the hi-tech inviroments and the enterious design ones myself...
Also perhaps try and lover the contrast of the papers texture dude. Then you dont get thoose "spots" in the watercolor. Gives a more clean look. I find that usefull when doing stuff up close.. : D:D
07-16-2004, 10:52 AM
:D Thanks for the tips, Swoop. I'll keep that in my mind. btw, the one I own is low-tech architecture. I want to search for the other. hope I'll find that nearby at my place. I really enjoy watch his walkthrough tutorial.:)
07-16-2004, 03:19 PM
this one is done in photoshop within 2 hours. and this time.. no blurry things :D
looking a lot better without the blurry look androgs but I can't figure out the lightsource.
Try to think more about where the light comes from.
here is a superquick sketch about 15 min Photoshop
07-17-2004, 07:54 AM
today's lunch, one city with too much fog. Lot's of dressing.
07-17-2004, 01:47 PM
yep, you're right Goro, thanks for remind me.:)
henrik, wow, stunning!!! how long you did that speedy?
07-17-2004, 02:44 PM
Great work there.. i would love to see a walkthoug of how you do thoose amazing images henrik ;)
:D :D love this thread
07-18-2004, 12:00 AM
Wow, great thread! It's amazing what you guys can create in such a short amount of time...
I'm relatively new to speedpainting, usually I spend weeks on my illustrations, but last night I just had to play around a bit with my tablet, and this is what emerged...
40 mins - Painter 8
07-18-2004, 08:49 AM
Looks pretty good there. Although i get the sense he is moving forward somwhoe, and his arm is in a wrong position when doing that. But hey it works :D
Good job k! :D
Goro nice mood as always.. love it :D
07-18-2004, 07:52 PM
Thanks Swoop! heh, yeah there are some anatomy flaws in that arm. I tried to strike that pose myself today, and it was damn near impossible... oh well :)
Goro - love the texture and the light in your pic, creepy mood.
another quick one...playing around with glow. Not really satisfied with it.
07-19-2004, 02:13 AM
a background idea the client didn't care for:
07-19-2004, 08:06 AM
I really like your image with the vehicles at night.
07-19-2004, 02:25 PM
Awesome Balistic! Looks really cool! I once did a similar painting (http://www.chrisguldager.com/Maleri/maleri_billeder/cloud-love.jpg) - just to try out Steven Stahlbergs cloud tutorial. But I like yours better, so moody, your client must be hard to please.
07-19-2004, 07:35 PM
I know the proportions are wrong on the side, but saw it too late ;)
07-19-2004, 10:16 PM
Okay did another one here. Pretty simple and more moody than detail :D Hope you like it :D
About 35 minutes max in painter 6.1
07-20-2004, 05:59 AM
nice, Swoop:), the cinema have a nice colour, especially those neon text.:D for the last one, I think the building need more darker in several part. good job though, I'll post mine later.
07-20-2004, 08:07 AM
ok,here it is, I know some part is wrong..but hmm..well.
and another rough one.
07-20-2004, 09:48 AM
I like the first one. But cant see exactly what it is. To me it's some kinda of moving boardwalk inside a glass hallway ;)
Second one is ince.. much more nice perspective that i draw most of the time ;)
07-21-2004, 02:57 AM
I made one artwork of a dream I had 2 night ago about a futurtistic war (could be on other planet too) and I was a pilot. It got hit by a weapon and I crashed. I walked out and saw all glowy green weapons shooting at me.....
Yes.. it was so green and orange. :) That was almost EXACTLY what it looked like in my dream except that it was 1st person view.. not 3rd person view like in this artwork. It was so intense.. yucky. Hehe but i felt way better after painting that. :)
07-21-2004, 04:03 AM
One more then I go to bed :) Forgot to show that to you too...
I think he's so cute. ;)
androgs the train station is very nice!
07-22-2004, 02:06 AM
Hehe one artwork from me today...
Goro your work is always great! Love it!
07-22-2004, 03:32 AM
You're getting better all the time Goro. Maybe you could start working with more deliberate brush strokes. Wrap them around your forms so they help to define volume. Just a suggestion.
Keep it up everybody.
And thnx balistic! I know exactly what you mean ba deliberate brush strokes. I find it still very
difficult to use few brush strokes for maximum detail. And I have to work very hard on
my anatomy skills too....aaaa there is so much to learn.
What do you mean by "wrap them around your forms?" Like a outline.
Thnx for the feedback! Need more of this:)
07-22-2004, 01:47 PM
What do you mean by "wrap them around your forms?" Like a outline.
No, what I mean is counter-stroking the form . . . like the way bandages wrap around a mummy. You obviously don't want to make it too strong an effect, or your characters will look like mummies :)
I'm trying to find examples in my own work, but it's something I don't do enough of. Here's some art by Craig Mullins that shows what I mean:
see how his strokes lay across the forms he's painting?
now I know what you mean! Thnx a lot! I'll try to do that next time!
And feel free to give crits on my work I really want to improve my skills.
07-22-2004, 10:55 PM
Hey guys thought I could post one here too, good work everyone.
07-23-2004, 03:08 PM
Looks very nice Matthew! Especially the face is nicely rendered. Judging by his clothes he looks like he belongs in a desert though, so a more barren environment might work better. But it's really good.
07-23-2004, 03:42 PM
Thanks ,Swoop and Goro for the comment.:)
here's a crazy robot in 20 minutes.
07-23-2004, 08:36 PM
Kredepops, hey thanks there, I agree it would have been better with a desert landscape, thank you for the comment. :)
another one from yesterday
keep it up
07-23-2004, 09:11 PM
Another from me. Hat goes off to Andy Warhol. This piece created with chalks in painter 8.
07-23-2004, 09:34 PM
ok here's a desert one, think I blame this one on me headache though, sniff me hates headache.
07-23-2004, 10:14 PM
All of your works are wonderful! Goro... I saw your work at cg daily sketch with that new technique! I msut say that it's way better! Keep it up!
Matthew-S it's awesome! Like how it's detailed and blurred/less detailed in other areas. Keep it up.
Here's two of mine...
(Don't make fun of that last one... I was bored so I just doodled, knowing that the persective of it is totally wrong, but.. hey I was bored)
07-24-2004, 01:14 PM
About half an hour...
GORO>> I am back!!! Your recent work is phenomenon. Your lighting are so much better than ever. I love the Knight guy. Keep up the great work.
Matthew S>> Good to see you here!
hey XIA love your girl! The metal shading is awesome

i think i'll start to post here too :) hope you guys don't mind, so many good art here i'm afraid to poop this thread up lol, hopefully i will get some good advices in how to improve
goro and xia... impressed as always. fantastic pieces
trying painter 8... the bleeding programs options are confusing right now... but practice cures all...
30min, acrylic brush
07-26-2004, 05:27 PM
thanks guys. :)
07-26-2004, 09:45 PM
Me again. Thanks for the hints goro, I really appreciate it.
Todays lesson was color. I'm pretty new to using colors, so I looked for a reference. I used a lotr pic, since to my mind lotr is one of the best colorcorected and lit movies out there.
I spend more time getting the colors right rather than the shapes. It really helps to work from dark to bright. Thanks goro.
07-26-2004, 10:13 PM
Milho: Your progress is going good! Keep it up! Teach yourself and keep practicing! I do the same thing... :D
Goro: Keep it up! Always love your style!
Matthew-S: It seems... full of rushes. I really like it.. the black strokes give the picture a really good effect! It adds so much to overall picture!
FLX: Hehe good luck with painter! I hope to get touch with it someday and test it out... it seems to be a good program once you get to know it. :) Keep practicing! :D
To everybody else: I enjoy seeing your sketches! :D Sorry if I havent commented on it much or something. I don't get online much... unforunately, but hey, I still see it! :D
Ok here it's my turn this time... two artworks I made last night... mmm was interesting I must say...
Here ya go... enjoy! :D
milho! That's a huge step! Very nice colors and I'm glad you didn't use the color picker.
It's really important to pick the colors by yourself.
Show me more!!
07-27-2004, 10:48 AM
small one to show, hangar :
07-27-2004, 11:26 AM
Hei, DreamMaster, you have a bold style of colour. nice one, especially the first one.
Tiger1313, man.. you sure have a skill!!!
here's mine 30 minutes in photoshop done with reference.
07-27-2004, 12:15 PM
thanx there DreamMaster. :)
07-27-2004, 08:33 PM
Great use of colours Matthew-S! There's a real sense of action in your paintings.
Goro - love the painting with the blimps! Really nice work.
I made this tonight after having seen Hellboy. I found a very small picture on Google images I could use for reference.
2 hours used in Painter 8.
07-27-2004, 11:30 PM
Thanks Androgs.. I love playing with colors! :D
Here's one from me... about 4 hours spent on it. I was trying to give it some kind of messy textures, but yet... give it the beauty and details (which I haven't done yet)...
I think it's going pretty good (hopefully)!
(to others) wowowowow.. beautiful! Keep it up! :D
good one tiger! love the brightness of your painting.
DreamMaster well done!
07-28-2004, 06:42 AM
Hey Goro, your last robot is very nice, have a bright and happy mood, seems like the robot wants to say "what a wonderful world". (hehe, yeah, I like that song by louis armstrong :D)
07-28-2004, 10:20 AM
Kredepops, many thanks there dude. :)
I went for a ride with me bike today, Matthew needs exercise.
keep up guys
07-28-2004, 01:52 PM
ok here is the update
07-28-2004, 04:54 PM
Quick one, a friend of mine, to be used as msn avatar ;)
About 2 hours, hard brush in Photoshop.
Nice stuff everyone, this thread always shows everybody's own style very well :)
07-29-2004, 12:04 AM
Goro: Nice robot! :D Like how it feels.. just... is free. I guess lol.. it makes me feel free. :D
Matthew-S: Wow.. nice! Like to see the progress from that to that. :D
jawine: Nice.. so cute. :D Love the lighting... so nice.
Anyways, here's mine.. about 3 hours in photoshop cs w/ tablet. Do you think I should keep going in that roughy style? And any tips on adding more details and smoothing it out if I finish my artwork that is....... ? I was just wondering.. here it is...
07-29-2004, 08:31 AM
@dreammaster: Smoothing is done easiest in Painter, by using the so called 'bleed-saturation' trick. It's kinda like working with a wet brush without paint on it that enables you to smear the paint around, but it keeps all the brush properties so you won't get this computersoft-smudged look as in PS.
As for your style, i guess style always needs to depend on who you show/sell it to, so if you don't have a specific public/type of company to aim work then just do what you like :D
07-29-2004, 04:40 PM
I tried painter 7 for 30 days trial... I fell in love with it, but I was too inexperienced to be able to use it to its fullest. :(
I hope to get painter 8 someday.. it seems to be a great program! :)
Thanks for the tip. :) I guess I'll just go wherever my style goes since I have no jobs or any companies that i work for as an artist. Would be nice to work for a company though (I don't think I'm good enough for one right now... need to improve more.. especially in human figures or something similar).
And yeah I hate it about the way how photoshop makes everything look computerish if I use that smuge feature. Yucky!
Thanks again. :)
07-29-2004, 05:58 PM
thanx there DreamMaster. :)
ok last one for a while, I will be only in sijun now.
keep it up there guys
07-30-2004, 08:32 AM
Great stuff here, here's mine. 30 minutes in Photoshop.

07-30-2004, 02:17 PM

Just finished replacement duty for army in kind of a hospital for older people.
As you can see my job was to transport these people inside the building.

07-31-2004, 12:05 AM
Someone told me I gotta post here.
Nice picture goro! Looks almost photoreaal from a distance.
07-31-2004, 03:02 AM
stephan.. I love that hair! I would fall for that guy's hair if it's real! Seriously!
Anyways here's mine...
This one is used by a reference from photo stock at deviantart.com ... loved those googles so wanted to paint that.. and I also added some tatoos...
Next one.. I just doodled for 1 hour before it ended up like that (it was going in other direction.. then I went the completely different direction.. basically started the image all over again) Annoying.. lol and yes I tried that new style... should be interesting...
Then the last one.. it was scanned... I drew it in real life... I am depressed today... hence this gloomy artwork.. sorry if it's too large... can't reduce the size on this computer :/ Annoying. My life doesn't get any better.. *sighs*
07-31-2004, 07:50 AM
wow, there is a lot of good stuff here
here's mine: 20 min, photoshop.
07-31-2004, 03:09 PM

08-01-2004, 11:55 AM
Hello everyone, this thread looks kinda interesting, I'm wondering though, can you post anything you want or is there any kind of theme restriciton or anything similar? (I am unable to find any patterns so..)
08-01-2004, 11:55 AM
Cool Goro, Very Craig Mullins, and everybody love pirates these days, including me :D I really like the colour palette, you've captured those 'midday at sea' hues perfectly.
08-01-2004, 05:43 PM
Yeah, Craig Mullins was the first thing i thought about when I saw your sketch. If that isn't a compliment :)
thnx guys! I'm experimenting a lot in skintones right now....very difficult
a photo ref for today....somehow I had no creativity....
08-02-2004, 10:18 AM
PaemrI > the thread title should give you clue ;) Speed paints is what it's all about, so I guess almost any motif should be valid as long as it's a speedpaint.
you're wellcome Goro, BTW cute pic of the boy with the rooster, you really know how to get those hues and colours right. But I like your fantasy-inspired pieces better.
08-02-2004, 03:09 PM
Hey Goro, nice new style.
here's another from me 2 hour 5 min in photoshop.(with reference)
08-02-2004, 06:22 PM
here's a couple i did
08-02-2004, 06:24 PM
Good work there, but i see a few problems. Values are off on places. I mean especially in the ceiling area, where no matter the placement all the crossbeams are same value. Typically distance changes the values of such items. Also i dont particularly like how you have some perfect straight lines mixed with some freehand lines on the rest. I cant say of course, but looks kinda like you used line tool for croosbeams ect... :D
But good job though :D
08-02-2004, 08:00 PM
Here is about 40 mins work in painter 6.1
08-02-2004, 08:29 PM
35 min photoshop, photo reference used

Thx.. good work all around guys. I love this thread because i can visit each day and see some amazing and quickly done pics :D
Trying (in no rush) to loose my own style, or at least transend it into something a little more firm hehe.. but i never give myself time to use a normal brush and lay down some finished strokes to even things out ;)
Cant wait to check back later and see some more pics (hint hint).. :D :D
08-03-2004, 11:38 AM

08-10-2004, 10:20 AM
Okay using my busted tablet (waiting for a new wacom) and a hurting harnd (pen is too heavy) i finally got a speedpaint done. Think i used a little more than 1 hour on this one when i subtract the time i spend doing absolutely nothing and the time i spent throwing around my pen for being a jerk ;)
Anyways here ya go :D
08-10-2004, 10:59 AM
DAmn swoop, that's really good  Looks really nice

Bars, I live in the country next to you and it's super hot here too :banghead: But I understood it's all over now :bounce: and we're getting normal tempratures, so that means we can make good work
Sleepless, Intresting image, I really like the color change from left to right.
08-14-2004, 08:16 AM
Thanks for the comment on the previous one , Swoop and Milho:D . well, Siggraph is over now, waiting for Goro with some news here. hehe. 3 hour this one done in photoshop.
08-14-2004, 09:39 AM
I like the mood in that one. Especially the background, though i'm not crazy about the middleground.
The bridges seem too bendy hehe.. but i absolutely love the colors, and background... :D
You should do a walkthrough sometime.. perhaps we should get everybody who paticitates in this thread to give a short walkthrough explaning their technique ;) Would be cool i think :D
What do you think about the idea ?
08-14-2004, 10:17 AM
Thanks:), your idea for walkthrough is great , though I'm not too confident with my skill now( which is very..very low:sad: ). but for sharing an experience each other, that idea is great!! telling everyone about it, hehe:D !!!
08-14-2004, 05:53 PM
I'm just curious, very curious in fact, are you guys using just a mouse? These are incredible works and the time you guys do it in is amazing. I'm very much a newbie and realize that more about skill/practice than equiptment, but can't help but wonder if the mouse is so powerful. ;)
08-14-2004, 09:24 PM
I think i speak for most people here when i say we use a tablet to draw. I only seen a couple of people draw using the mouse, and then it's mostly coloring they do, because it's extremely hard and timeconsuming to draw digitally using only the mouse.
So in short i think we all use a tablet, which basically (should you not know) is a digital peice of paper on which you can "draw" using a accompanying pen, which calculates the pressure you apply and vary the penstrokes accordingly. This enables us to make thich to thin lines just like drawing on paper, or other effects, plus making the whole painting scenario much more like drawing non-digitally ;)
Okay i rambled on enough... i suggest looking into WACOM tablets if you are considering one ;)
08-14-2004, 09:50 PM
100 pages of speedpainting :applause:
Im' looking forward to the next 100. I just love this thread :bounce:
08-14-2004, 10:04 PM
Uhmm there is only 75 pages according to me ;) hehe
08-14-2004, 10:49 PM
if so you should be looking forward to the next 75 :p
08-15-2004, 01:16 AM
I just reinstalled Photoshop and thought I would test the tablet... so I threw in 2 minutes on this ramdom idea. I haven´t been drawing much lately, life is getting on the way :(
08-15-2004, 05:39 AM
bored, so here is my usual un imaginative speed
08-15-2004, 09:08 AM
Dont see anything fire.
Norante i love you little drawing.. thoose lines look really cool ;)
08-15-2004, 02:10 PM
