sounds like a double deformation.
happens when you have a surface effected by 2 (or more) deformers. like skinning a character then applying a cluster and parenting it to aone of the joints, or skinning a sharacter and its blendshape targets...
basically, you are telling it to move twice, you just need to have a look at the inputs and work out what the problem is..
