Sorry, but no. Your only choice at the moment with XSI is MR.
Please don't take this is the wrong way (I am not trying to be flippant) but if your render times are not acceptable in MR you may wish to look more deeply in to learning more about how to properly optimize your scene data. MR is NOT a one click solution for rendering and to get the most out of it you really must learn how to use it to it's fullest (sadly this takes both knowledge and time). You can bring your render times down I assure you, however, you will really need to learn more about the in's and out's of how MR works and the MANY things that you can do to make your scene data render more quickly.
I would urge you to read and understand the following document:
Techniques for Optimizing Rendering in Softimage XSI by Dave Lajoie (http://www.softimage.com/education/Xsi/SelfPacedLearning/Tutorials/webTutorials/XSI_3_0/Optimizing_rendering/XSI_rendering_lajoie.pdf)
I agree, it would be very nice to have other options for rendering besides MR but don't despair MR is awesome when you discover how to harness its power.
