Title: Beauty Monica
Name: Mihai Anghelescu
Country: Romania
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop, VRay

This is my last 3d work :). It was done for a beauty contest and i was using some photos of monica bellucci for general reference. I apreciate any critics about my work

11 November 2004, 03:48 PM
this is perfect man. nothing to crit. congratulations

11 November 2004, 03:53 PM
Exceptional render...

Only crit, I don't know if it's just my monitor but there seems to be a fair amount of banding in the red background.

11 November 2004, 03:55 PM
Pretty woman, but she looks so stupid. :D. I like the model, but that expression on her face! :) The only thing i don't like is the cloth. Not only it's presence, of course. It doesn't look real to me.

11 November 2004, 04:04 PM
amazing work, as usual :) not 100% looking like monica bellucci but beautiful nonetheless.

11 November 2004, 04:08 PM
Good job dude!!! (Vad ca ai corectat sanii)

11 November 2004, 04:11 PM
Wow! The skin shader is perfect! Excellent work!

11 November 2004, 04:12 PM
great work indeed.

the ear could have been worked on more, but it's nothing too big.

-Hwasup Song

11 November 2004, 04:14 PM
Wow! Looks amazing, and quite similar to monica belucci like you said, though i cant help but remember what happened to her in the film "irreversible"
Great work either way - do you have the all important wireframe images? The hair looks incredibly good - its all generated on the fly, right? No comping?

11 November 2004, 04:21 PM
That is extremely beautiful! Can I ask you how you did the hair?

11 November 2004, 04:22 PM

11 November 2004, 04:24 PM
Hei... She's fantastic...
She's very expressive...A wonderwonderful work! Really!

11 November 2004, 04:25 PM
Thanks for the prompt reply ppl :) !
profg: I think some how youre right about expression ;) I will change the pose and expression of the face.
neversong: About ear i dont know what to say .. i have to study this problem (ears) more deep :) . Man i was looking alot at your threads here on cgtalk ;) .. you've done great job with that hair.
Sunnncho: thanks . i know your girl w.i.p and i apreciate your reply :)
m@.: thanks alot for that plugg . I'm really impressed by your fast moving here on cgtalk ;)
Thanks again !

11 November 2004, 04:28 PM
Great work man!!!
Very very similar to the original!!
I like the skin texture, but hairs seem too blurred and dress too rigid.
In my opinion the expression is right, she's quite inexpressive ;)

11 November 2004, 04:28 PM
oh my god, its perfect:eek: , congratulation !!!:applause:

11 November 2004, 04:32 PM
great work. I would crop the canvas a little. Remove the lower part just below or above her armpits. Her face is one of the best cg faces I've seen so far.

11 November 2004, 04:32 PM
great work
but there is something funny with the eyes, they look too"clean"

11 November 2004, 04:33 PM

11 November 2004, 04:37 PM
excellent modelling and rendering!... the only minor crit would ne the likeness, but anyway, it's a very fine model!...

11 November 2004, 04:42 PM
Excellent work :applause:
Very beautiful......

Minor crit-
The cloth looks rubbery.
Hair looks glued on.
Ear needs some tweaking.

11 November 2004, 04:45 PM
 can't believe my eyes until I see a wire.

Manuel G.
11 November 2004, 04:46 PM
 nice work:applause:

11 November 2004, 05:03 PM
:applause: A M A Z I N G :applause:

11 November 2004, 05:10 PM
ok ... what nice piece of work...

11 November 2004, 05:12 PM
Very, very nice

11 November 2004, 05:14 PM
Very very nice and it looks very realistic!

11 November 2004, 05:15 PM
Hi Mizu, really great work, I like it very much.

She looks a bit scared or confused to me. Like she is just about to decide weather to fight or make run for it;) . Was that the look you were going for? Maybe the armpits are a bit too wide. It looks like her arm are stretched out to side a bit.

Very nice skinshading!

11 November 2004, 05:16 PM
misu! what happened to monica belluci? :) your model looks prettier than her imo, she looks like a mix between monica and catherine zeta jones. great work dude. if i could change one thing, it would be the symmetry, offset it a lil more. other than that, this is good stuff

11 November 2004, 05:17 PM
A truly beautiful piece of work, Misu  mesmerising....
Only anatomical crit would be the 'antihelical fold' of the ear...?

11 November 2004, 05:18 PM
it's better than last, very nice...

11 November 2004, 05:21 PM
wow, I'm in love with her!!
you did a great job man!!!

I wish I could model like that!

11 November 2004, 05:36 PM
I cant say more then, Wow! I see you got a perfect lighting and texturing. I love shine on the air. Awesome!

11 November 2004, 05:44 PM
excellent work! superb modeling shading and lighting. really nothing to crit

11 November 2004, 05:51 PM
woah what an awesome work! Everything is perfect. But the hair is imho too perfect. You could have make it a bit more "fuzzy". You are a talented artist indeed ;)

EDIT: whoops forgot rating...5 stars :P

11 November 2004, 05:59 PM
Oh my god!

11 November 2004, 06:04 PM
Excellent. But she just doesn't look like Monica....

11 November 2004, 06:08 PM
Just superb!

11 November 2004, 06:10 PM
stunning work

11 November 2004, 06:15 PM
great work man
some wires please

11 November 2004, 06:15 PM
Wow, any chance on seeing this animated?

11 November 2004, 06:17 PM
Wowww Lovely Portrait:buttrock:
More Work On Ear Maybe Needed to Looks More Realistic
( My Opinion )

11 November 2004, 06:21 PM
All I can say is WOW!

11 November 2004, 06:29 PM
[QUOTE= i cant help but remember what happened to her in the film "irreversible"

Hey now, that wasn't a bad thing, and I wouldn't mind getting a piece of that...

On a completely different note, that model is awesome. I aspire to be that damn good.

11 November 2004, 06:33 PM
i love Matrix Monica:thumbsup:
i love your work:thumbsup:

11 November 2004, 06:33 PM
Amazing work! You have really captured her beauty.

11 November 2004, 06:40 PM
Ok so I want to go out with your 3d model.... is she available?

How's Friday around.... 7?

Dude... seriously... beautiful... nothing else to say :)

11 November 2004, 06:46 PM
its awesome. i have nothing to say on this work.

11 November 2004, 07:06 PM

11 November 2004, 07:09 PM
very very good work.

11 November 2004, 07:21 PM
very emotional eyes! frontpage:thumbsup:

11 November 2004, 07:33 PM
Nice work!

I have two points the face looks pretty good. I would like to see more lowFreq details in the
ear, lips and in the upper chest and collar bones and neck muscles. Right now you dont have
enough polys to make this area feel soft and flesh like. I dont feel the muscle under the skin
and so it feels a bit "CG" in those areas. But overall nice style to the model.

Good work!

11 November 2004, 07:36 PM
Very beautiful work. Perfect Model for a perfect modeling :).

11 November 2004, 07:40 PM
Ive seen manya' human heads on here, thats easily the best so far. Would you be so kind as to explain how you created your skin shader? What renderer did you use? General shader setup, thanks so much. Keep up the mind blowing work.

11 November 2004, 07:49 PM
Felicitari, Felicitari, Felicitari! (Congratulations!)

11 November 2004, 08:01 PM
Like the others I guess, I am inloved... love at first sight

11 November 2004, 08:05 PM
Really nice stuff, but the eyes look a bit odd. That is, the reflection on the eyes look exactly alike. Is that part of the texture? A specularity map might give the eyes a more natural shinyness; a little less perfect, if that makes sense.

11 November 2004, 08:15 PM
The model is perfect. My first reaction was, Wow that looks just like Ashley Judd. Great Job!

11 November 2004, 08:15 PM
Yes, of course she's beautiful, but it seems like she would be stabbed in the back.

11 November 2004, 08:50 PM
wow..great job.the shaders and textures are awesome.:applause:
but imo,i think you should work more on the hairs, they seems too blur.

againe,nice work:thumbsup:

11 November 2004, 09:23 PM
Wow, man, just wow. I have to get to class, but that is awesome. What technique(s) did you use?

11 November 2004, 09:23 PM
Very nice, what renderer did you use?

11 November 2004, 09:34 PM
WOW! Superb realistic model and texturing work! She's sooooooo beautiful. It looks just like her!

Good that you incorporated some realism to the image, like the bags under her eyes.

Do you have more? (her body..... ) ;)

11 November 2004, 09:37 PM
Its very reare that I seem something that stands out as beautiful. I think you did a great job in all of the areas I am curious what the process for your skin was. Again very beautiful I actualy said wow outloud.

11 November 2004, 09:53 PM
same as the first post , perfect
ide love to see some more angles and maybe some full body shots if you can please

11 November 2004, 09:53 PM
Awesome! I spotted her right away. Unmistakable likeness. Very well done.

11 November 2004, 10:11 PM
Very beautiful rendering, her skin, her eyes, her hairs looks so real !!

If I only have one lil thing to say, it would be about the proportions... Your model look close enough to Monica so we do reconize her, but I think her face is longer or something... I think...

Anyway, I think you pretty good to got to that point anyway ; it's not like if I could do the same

11 November 2004, 10:18 PM
Beauty she is !:)
Just amazing work man

11 November 2004, 11:13 PM
Very beautiful rendering, her skin, her eyes, her hairs looks so real !!
If I only have one lil thing to say, it would be about the proportions... Your model look close enough to Monica so we do reconize her, but I think her face is longer or something... I think...
I must say, I agree. At first when I clicked on this from the front page, I did not recognise her, only seeing that it was yet another outstanding 3D model of a woman here on CGTalk (following ARK-VFX's posts). When I saw the high-res image, I started asking myself,"Hmm...she looks fam--is that Monica Bellucci?" Then I scrolled down, saw her in her Matrix outfit, looked back up again, and said "Yep!"

Once you look at it after a while, you definitely realize it's a great likeness (a DAMN fine one), but it's not "perfect" if you are going for the Matrix: Reloaded/Revolutions look. I think the "problem" is that she appears a bit too young in this rendering (again, assuming you are aiming for the Matrix). Take a look here ( ). I think her jaw, specifically, needs to be a bit longer ( ) and her face, slightly thicker or wider (from left-to-right from a front viewpoint). It also may be because of her expression and lack of mascara (?).

I hope I don't sound too negative because I really love this piece as well as your other works which are all very detailed and beautiful. Keep up the awesome work!

11 November 2004, 11:27 PM
Excellent work, Mihai.:applause:

But I like Sandra much more. Is she still single????

11 November 2004, 11:27 PM
Great job, but It seems that the face is as neutral as in rigging position!!

Other than that she is sweet, loving the hair! can I ask what technique did ya use? :)

11 November 2004, 11:37 PM
she is so hot and sexy.
but her eyes are too baggy. I don't know if you took that from a picture of her with baggy eyes, but i think it would look more asthetically pleasing with no baggy eyes.

11 November 2004, 11:47 PM
Brilliant! simply brilliant!

Gord MacDonald

11 November 2004, 12:12 AM
Very nice render and modelling. crits...well....

I think the hair looks too 'flat'.

The ear and red banding has been mentioned before.

Still, V.nice

11 November 2004, 12:16 AM
Looks beautiful :)

I believe I would perhaps crop the lower part of the image... either that, or show slightly more, to at least show she has some cleavage... doesn't quite work for me at the bottom at the moment. Ignoring that though, looks stunning :) Ravishing, even...

11 November 2004, 12:23 AM
only obtrusive thing are hairs, but really the best work i had see in these days in cgtalk... congratulations...

11 November 2004, 12:50 AM
Perfection at it's best! Nothing else to say other than, it's just...Perfect.

11 November 2004, 01:17 AM
Great job !
I knew who it was the second I saw the thumbnail image.

If I had to crit the image, I would saw crop it to show just her face and neck region.
Right now, it looks as if she is not posed at all, and standing in the standard ' hands out ' position.

Again, thumbs up !

11 November 2004, 01:22 AM
Simply Beatuiful Looks just like her! Bravo!

11 November 2004, 01:38 AM
You try to find some area that can be improved but really this is just an amazing piece.

11 November 2004, 02:03 AM
I don't mind the facial expression or lack thereof, Chuck Close's works have really mundain expressions on most of his portraits and that doesn't detract one bit. Not everyone is smiling all the time.

11 November 2004, 02:12 AM
shes stunningly beautiful!! congrats man..

11 November 2004, 02:36 AM
I Like it a lot!

I recognize her when I saw the tumbnail too. She just look a little younger then Monica.
Only the cloth isn´t so amazing.

PUT IT OFF!!! :scream:

...and make my day. :)

Congratulations. You are the best with 3d girls. A great reference to us.

11 November 2004, 02:57 AM
Wow man this is incredible!
Absolutely excellent modeling!

11 November 2004, 03:16 AM
A benchmark in it's own league. Well done, congrats and hope to see more soon.

11 November 2004, 03:31 AM
It looks like Ashley Judd to me too.

11 November 2004, 03:57 AM
I love her but the hair needs something esp the line at her left forhead

11 November 2004, 04:23 AM
oh man, that's awesome!
could you please render another angle? very impressive artwork!

11 November 2004, 04:27 AM
Nice model, she looks hot!! :)

11 November 2004, 04:37 AM
just fantastic
oh no this is not real maan --just kidding.

everything is perfect.

11 November 2004, 06:40 AM
I like the pic. Its very pretty. Its nice but nothing is perfect.

11 November 2004, 06:49 AM
This is fab, it is also a VERY good likeness of Monica B. Only crits here would be the eyes, a little lifeless and the ear, the one we can see, needs maybe more definition inside?

Otherwise perfect man!

11 November 2004, 06:54 AM
Excellent render...but here is what I noticed. The inner eyebrows go too far down towards the eyes, like another mentioned the "bags" under her eyes should be a little less pronounced, the upper lip should be a touch more "puffy", compairing to the picture, the bone or whatever above the eye should be a little less pronounced and the face a bit longer, and the muscles on the front part of the neck should be a bit more pronouced.

Don't get me wrong this is definately good...but those are the few things I noticed that I think should be touched up.

11 November 2004, 07:00 AM

Greaaat Work! fantastic

11 November 2004, 07:01 AM
nothing is wrong... good work...

11 November 2004, 07:28 AM

The quality is very very good but she seems more ASHLEY JUDD not MONICA BELLUCCI

bye and great work

11 November 2004, 07:28 AM
I wish I had these skills!
Amazing work.

11 November 2004, 07:43 AM
at first look i was posetive that she is "catrin zita jones" but still great work!!!
i wonder if u mined put up a shaded render (no texture)
keep up the good work!

11 November 2004, 07:45 AM
Hair looks abit too smooth, blurry but the rest does look really nice.

11 November 2004, 09:25 AM
Completely different to Monica Bellucci, anyway I vote for 5 stars. Good work.

11 November 2004, 09:46 AM
can you give me a tips on how to make a so real head?and which is the most importance, color channel or highlight channel, tks

11 November 2004, 09:50 AM
brilliant work man.... thumbs up!

11 November 2004, 10:01 AM
she's gorgeous...I'm imagining her without all that colour...she'd look great in wire...

11 November 2004, 10:25 AM
Wow wow wow, can't believe some people say the likeness can be better! It's perfect! Only minor crit is her expression. But that has been said a lot of times. Just an awesome job. Congrats on this. I only wish i had your skillz.

11 November 2004, 10:31 AM
wow very good work.

best regards,

11 November 2004, 10:32 AM
wow, just perfect :argh:
please show us the wireframe

11 November 2004, 10:36 AM
Awsome !!!

11 November 2004, 10:47 AM
I Just Can Say Excellent Work.

11 November 2004, 10:54 AM
Very nice indeed, but to me she looks like somebody nobody has mentioned yet.

Katherine Heigl, one of the people from the show "Roswell" as seen in a pic like this:

The eyebrows and nose seem very similar to Katherine, Monica Belucci seems to have slightly bushier eyebrows in the matrix reloaded pic posted earlier compared to your render.

in other photos the likeness is not nearly as close though (to Katherine). It does also look like Ashley Judd as some people have mentioned I think aswell.

If I really had to crit anything, it would be the slight bags under the eyes. A nice touch, but slightly too pronounced maybe?

Either way superb work, very nice (nice enough to make me post even, which is a rare thing for me) ! Definitely front page work IMO

11 November 2004, 12:02 PM
Hey man

It's just so ****ing amazing .

Can you just send some wires and some renders before retouching,
By the way how have you done the hair ( Plug's, Post , .... )

11 November 2004, 12:11 PM
bravo Misule

11 November 2004, 12:15 PM
amazing work- the only little crit i have is the lower wrinkel below the eye

11 November 2004, 01:01 PM
Thanks for all critics ;) ... This crit will help me to improve the model . For now i'll show the wire and some steps for creating a simple head by box modeling tehniques . The model was done with 3dsmax6 but the techniques are the same for any 3d software.
I agree with the ppl who are saying that 3d model is not 100% looking like Monica Bellucci. The model was developed for a cg contest and i was working with a limited deadline ... so .. now i'll have more time to improve the model to be more like the real monica :) . I'm also working for other expressions on her face like smile , sadnes etc. I'll post the updates of the expressions on the w.i.p sections where i have also an older unfinished project " Bruce Willis" .
Thanks alot for that greeat feedback !

11 November 2004, 01:48 PM
thanks for posting your wires and progress. That will definitely help many..... needless to say that your topology is near perfect :D

11 November 2004, 01:59 PM
very nice photorealism

11 November 2004, 02:24 PM
uluitor ! primeste aprecierea cuiva care stie cit de greu e sa dai "viata" unor pixeli, in special in cazul fetei umane.

11 November 2004, 02:32 PM
nice one man, very cool. :)

11 November 2004, 02:33 PM
Wow!! Amazing!
good luck on the contest. i hope you'll be the winner.

11 November 2004, 02:35 PM
itz a gr8 work... but frm my point of view... the hair just doesn look perfect with the face... it seems a texture has been used to make the hair...

itz just wht i think frm my point of view...

in all if u can change the hair.. n make it look real... it wud b perfect... :)

11 November 2004, 03:00 PM
amazing man, great job, really very nice modeling.

11 November 2004, 03:42 PM
great work ,misu. amazing :bounce: and many thanks for the wire's

11 November 2004, 04:29 PM
I love this work...But you could make the cloth little bit more the face.

11 November 2004, 04:53 PM
fantastic realizm and technical execution, but she looks enbalmed / paralyzed. something as simple as moving her eye gaze a little off center might help alot

11 November 2004, 05:05 PM
 very nice and clear wireframe:thumbsup:

11 November 2004, 05:33 PM
hello thanks for the wires
but we demand a full tutorial please
i am waiting:deal:

11 November 2004, 06:34 PM
dude! i bow down to u! ur girl is awsome.... i agree witht the crit that the eyes look too clean... too white in my opinon. i would also crop the pic , or just lower her arms... her clothes needs to have some texture to it to make it more realistic... and after that the rest is more nitpicking.... i love her lips, perfect.

11 November 2004, 07:09 PM
Twice jalous : on her beauty, on you art.

Multzam pt wires.

Silver Sliver
11 November 2004, 07:33 PM
In the first pic it looks like she's staring. Seems innatural to me. Impressive work. I recognized her at the first sight

11 November 2004, 08:43 PM
First off: WOW!! Excellent, simply excellent.:applause:

If I really had to crit anything, it would be the slight bags under the eyes. A nice touch, but slightly too pronounced maybe?
I caught that too. I think what's going on with the comments regarding her age, and the bags under her eyes are related. I've found a good resource for modelling faces is to talk to plastic surgeons or forensics artists.

What happens on an aging face is that the skin slowly sags, pulling the facial shroud, creating the creases that forms on both sides of the nose (laugh-lines). On younger people these creases are only visible when smiling or grimacing. On older people, the skin has sagged enough that the creases are apparent regardless of facial expression. This phenomenon coinsides with an increase in the fatty deposits under the eyes (the bags). The older you are, generally, the more pronounced the fat gets.

One of the procedures in a facelift is to remove this excess fat from under the eyes (this is the one place that's impervious to dieting. These cells continue to increase their size, the older you get.)

The feeling I get is that most of her face looks like she's in her early 20s, but the bags suggest an age in the 30's range.

Now these are generalities. You've got some awesome talent. Very inspiring.

peace d=^)

11 November 2004, 09:30 PM
Dude, it is great, my wife look like that :D, yeahh

11 November 2004, 09:31 PM
I could definitely see it was Monica Belluci by the thumbnail on the frontpage - great work. spakman has a point about the apparent age of her face though. Now in her mid thirties she does have those bags under her eyes but the rest of her face looks like it did a decade ago.

Beautiful model. Spot on.

11 November 2004, 09:33 PM
A beautiful piece of work... strangely enough she reminds me a bit of an older version of Katie Holmes...

11 November 2004, 09:42 PM
i see glimpses of monica but its not entirely there yet

i love that woman.she is one of the most beautiful women on the face of this earth but she looked so crap in the matrix movies:(
well anyhoo great render and textures
but if its monica you are aiming for then there is still some vertex pushing to be done
great stuff

abohemed--- I demand that u do a search on modelling lol
there are heaps of box modelling tuts

11 November 2004, 12:27 AM
You certainly have my vote for whatever it is you're competing for!
I've searched out a lot of CG characters over the years and this has to be one of the best i've seen. There's just something about her lips that brings her to life. Oh and the eyes! Wow.

I went back and stared at it again... it's extremely strange how my brain is completely fooled into seeing this as a real person. I hope you're around when video games have the hardware to render images this good. Can't say enough about it! :applause::applause:

11 November 2004, 02:38 AM
hi evrey one the_z_axis i know there is a lot of them but i want to know his style and and his way of modeling so my demand still on:twisted:

11 November 2004, 03:03 AM
I could definitely see it was Monica Belluci by the thumbnail on the frontpage - great work. spakman has a point about the apparent age of her face though. Now in her mid thirties she does have those bags under her eyes but the rest of her face looks like it did a decade ago.

Beautiful model. Spot on.Maybe its just me, but I've noticed that in all the boy mags (Maxim, Stuff, FHM, Gear...), all the older hotties (like Carmen Electra, Heather Locklear, etc...) are photographed with extra attention to lighting, and are almost always photographed smiling. I think this is to give the illusion that those laughlines are generated by the smile (as would be the case in someone younger), thus disguising their true age.

peace d=^)

11 November 2004, 03:27 AM
Good modeling, but she's still looks like a dead wax puppet right now...

11 November 2004, 03:47 AM
absolutely beautiful:applause:

11 November 2004, 06:27 AM
Great work...

Looking for more images..."All the best"

11 November 2004, 07:22 AM
Great piece, I love the facial expression
some comments spot on ear looks odd
2.right shoulder top edge
3.cloth looks odd
4.I felt Armpit needs some attention

11 November 2004, 07:23 AM
Beautiful woman and fantastic model , great !

Aloha !

11 November 2004, 11:10 AM
Perfect lighting and texturing, but the only thing I can say: I would move the earring to the center of the earlobe...:)

11 November 2004, 11:57 AM
Seems more of a faraway look to me, definitely not stupid or vacant.....if anything I guess more neutral than expressive. Very impressive though. Cloth could do with some texture - I guess it's a bit too smooth and too 'clean' in how it hugs the shoulders, a little ruffling maybe here and there, or finer detail.

And yes, it does have the look of Monica Belluci, uncanny in fact, not quite there but definitely her. Great work!

11 November 2004, 01:45 PM
incredible work Misu

btw-this is Misu's new site

11 November 2004, 01:58 PM
Hehe .. thanks shaka.
With all the crit here (i apreciate all the critics ) i have to admit i have to make some changes at the Monica model ;) . Soon i'll post some new renders . Thanks for that great feedback ppl . I love cgtalk because here i've learned alot about modeling and texturing. I hope soon i'll have online a small but eficient tutorial about head modeling and in this way i can pay back all what i've learned from here ;)

11 November 2004, 05:27 PM
I like your artwork, your model is great!

11 November 2004, 05:31 PM
It's perfect! Brilliant work!

11 November 2004, 06:41 PM

11 November 2004, 06:55 PM
Really, really cool stuff! I like the softness of her skin and the hair! Anduhm, she looks really pretty! :)

Or, in 2 words: Awesome work :)

Congrats with the frontpage btw,

Greetz, Gijs

11 November 2004, 12:46 AM
hey very cool man.. she looks absolutely awesome... nothing to point too... but to me the eye bag seems a little big... but thats just me.... but overall, its morethen awesome work...

11 November 2004, 02:09 AM
I think I'm in love .... great work!

11 November 2004, 04:51 AM
I love her. Just fantastico!! I don't know why some people say she looks very little like the actress that you were inspired by; I see a definate resemblance! You even managed to get the same subtle detail under the eyes that really help add realism to her face. Great work!!
:applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:

11 November 2004, 04:58 AM
i instantly knew who it was - great job - hair is very soft looking.

11 November 2004, 05:20 AM
Great work dude hope you will place wireframe soon

11 November 2004, 12:31 PM
awsome work man, i think if you would of added the little thin white hair that people have so slight on there skin then this peice would be imposible to tell that it wasnt real. that and the ear.

11 November 2004, 12:35 PM
Looks like someone from Matrix reloaded. Sweet!

11 November 2004, 04:20 PM
That is truely amazing. I wish I could get her number from you....oh wait, she isn't real, but real good job none the less

11 November 2004, 06:00 PM

11 November 2004, 04:01 AM
Excellent! (guitar sounds)

you have impressive knowledge of the anatomy

11 November 2004, 06:04 AM
Wow !

I'm just getting started with modelling human heads, but now I know what is (theoretically :) possible !

profg: I think some how youre right about expression ;) I will change the pose and expression of the face.

The expression is fine.

I see it as "Dumbfounded at the news, she found herself speechless. Her eyes glazed over, she was unable to fathom that it was possible" :)

How many hours (minutes ? :) did it take to model the face ?

Do you have any tips for a beginner like me?

I''m playing with the Max5 demo, and have dowloaded the "faceMaker" maxsript. I'm also experimeting with sketching profile curves and extruding them.

11 November 2004, 06:37 AM
cool.. great skin

11 November 2004, 07:19 AM
Exceptional render...

Only crit, I don't know if it's just my monitor but there seems to be a fair amount of banding in the red background.
i think thats because of the compression...

the render is perfect, but as said she looks a bit dull.. her expression i mean.. but nevertheless: perfect!

11 November 2004, 07:35 PM

11 November 2004, 12:53 AM
it is great...
it look like real wonam....
i hope i can create the model like yours.

11 November 2004, 03:01 AM
Wow! Excellent work!

11 November 2004, 11:50 AM

Alpha Wolf
11 November 2004, 03:56 PM
anyone who has anything negative to say about the work you have created, has never tried to create a cg woman of such beauty. Or they tried and could'nt accomplish what you have there. For the guy that did'nt like the expression on her face? I would like to see some of your creations. Don't let anyone tell you that this is anything less than fantastic.

11 November 2004, 08:34 PM
Hi Frend, it is fantastic

11 November 2004, 09:17 PM
Great work man.

11 November 2004, 03:09 AM

All the good coments x10!

Good work.

Jusy keep it going!!

11 November 2004, 01:07 AM
brilliant work..

the eyes have been done so well. The only crit is the cloth material, it looks a lil plastic, IMO. But very good shader for the skin. Wish I could see the wires, could be more inspiring

11 November 2004, 07:35 AM
nice work man .....

11 November 2004, 05:01 PM
I think she don't seem like monica bellucci, but anyway she is beautifull and a very good work of modeling and render.
I find specially dificult to make ears, wath do you think?
Sorry for my poor english, i'm spanish

Durex Durpaneu
11 November 2004, 11:19 PM
:buttrock: for those who keep complaining about the cloth... PPL! LOOK AT MATRIX REVOLUTION... her dress is made of plastic stop bitching about it... the model is just fantastic.

PS :[salut! superba lucrarea ;)]

11 November 2004, 01:29 PM
great work tho not to sure about hair above the forehead, looks a bit too blurred. I see you have caught monica Belluci's lips extremely well.

11 November 2004, 08:07 PM
WOW.... nice work man....

and i thought monica belluci couldnt be any more perfect... :P.... guess i was wrong....

11 November 2004, 12:09 AM
your job is excellent bu her eyes are so shining and they look like not real. If we pass the eyes I think she is real...

11 November 2004, 08:43 PM
I can't help but go back and stare at this every once in a while (squint a little and she's real). Something kinda struck me just now; she's got that blank/surprised look, as if someone just stabbed her in the back. Perhaps if she were looking into the camera with her head slightly turned...possibly that will enhance the illusion. :applause:

11 November 2004, 04:32 AM
lovin it..... (

11 November 2004, 09:43 AM
beautiful work!!! i really love the expression on her face. kind of shocked yet daydreamy. and you did a great job on the fabric of the dress. no crits here!

11 November 2004, 02:51 PM
i would'like to take a drink with her perhaps on my pub chair's humm !!
can you anime she?

bart b
11 November 2004, 04:13 PM
That looks great:thumbsup:

11 November 2004, 11:24 PM
Some expression in her face would be nice. Looks too much... like a model. :)
Also, I'm no expert, but where her hair parts, just above her forehead, doesn't look right. It's pulled to either side... and yet... it's... there.

Other than that... excellent work :D

11 November 2004, 12:02 AM
i just want to say wow

11 November 2004, 12:34 PM
this is a really nice work. The skin shader looks perfect to me.
the only think cab say is for the next time try to twist a little the head and the eyes to make her look less rigid.
Congrats for this great pice of art!

11 November 2004, 01:44 AM
Great One !!!

11 November 2004, 02:36 PM
WOW!! you have done an awsome job, its so good its almost creepy! great lighting, how did you set it up?

11 November 2004, 03:49 PM
MMmmm beautyfull like the real one. very good skin, render and lightning.

just one critic: maybe you have a render with a face more expressive because this one is a little bit too neutral.

11 November 2004, 08:46 AM
Daca toti s-au luat de hainele ei ... de ce nu ai renuntat la ele....

11 November 2004, 03:28 PM

In a moment I was thinking that this is retoush of normal photo! :)

11 November 2004, 08:43 PM

11 November 2004, 06:50 PM
WOW! it's wonderful!

11 November 2004, 06:53 PM
Awesome work. She is absolutely beautiful. Beautiful skin texture.I would love to see her animated.

11 November 2004, 03:48 PM
wow u just made the women for me to marry

11 November 2004, 09:27 PM
Funny... Before I read the text, I thought of felt the resemblance of Monica Belucci, and then I read the caption and realized how right I was hehe :) . Great piece of work

11 November 2004, 10:05 PM
Great model. Buff those lips

12 December 2004, 06:38 AM
Great job! I really like the skin shader, hair and eyes, texturing is really good.
My only question is if she is a beauty (it is obvious she is) why she has that puffy eyes? I mean in my opinion that circles under the eyes are too deep.

Ali Imran Zaidi
12 December 2004, 07:47 AM
Amazing..... its cool 3D, nice texturing.......

12 December 2004, 07:06 PM
no critics, is perfecet
congrats dude
see it...

12 December 2004, 06:13 PM
Wow great job man, can I have my moms picture back now ?

12 December 2004, 12:00 AM
Perfect .. like a photo.
No flaws.

12 December 2004, 05:24 PM
The hair seems a bit blurry, and the clothes are too straight. If it weren´t for that I would say that was a photo. One of the most amazing faces I´ve seen!

12 December 2004, 06:41 PM
And the body?????

12 December 2004, 12:36 AM
Get rid of the bags under the eyes.

12 December 2004, 08:27 AM
Really really REALLY nice! (Except for the plastic top, but who cares when she's so gorgeous!)

12 December 2004, 04:15 PM
Yip, Monica Belluci sure is a babe!

And your piece does her credit! A strong candidate for EXPOSE 3 if you ask me!

Well done!

12 December 2004, 07:11 AM
Great work. Whoever said ditch the bags under the eyes -- ignore them. It's a terrific human touch. Nobody is perfect unless they are made out of plastic. Frankly, the eyes are the best part of the model, IMO.

One crit only: she's too symmetrical. One sees this a lot with facial modeling, since very often it is a process of doing one side and then mirroring. Of course, humans aren't perfectly symmetrical, so it's worth it to go back afterward and make some subtle changes.

12 December 2004, 10:19 PM
Even though she doesn't remind me o Monika she is really beautifull. Hope to see a full figure in the future. This is a really great 3d model:applause:

12 December 2004, 02:14 AM
It's really superb, finding faults is easy, doing job is hard u did a wonderful job.

she's really beautiful... and you mimic that very well. have to my hands down on that effort.

12 December 2004, 06:19 PM
it,s very nice.

12 December 2004, 02:44 PM
very good!

I think you should improve cloth's material

12 December 2004, 07:07 AM
I never would of thought that a rendered woman could be so captivating, call me sick but I can't look away from her!:scream:

12 December 2004, 05:16 AM
other than the ear ring needing to move forward into the lobe just a little more, it is a great peice of work..good job

01 January 2005, 09:14 PM
People are so worried these days about how life like you can make something look in 3D art. Its obvious you are a master of the 3D, but to go beyond technique and grow your skills you should expand on style. For example if this were an oil painting people would not be saying "oh my god you painted a person so life like" they would say this painting is good but then so are 1000 others of humans. The person in your art should have an expression or a pose. For expample perhaps corressing a rose near the lips something to give it character or convey a message. Your character looks like a deer caught in the headlights. Beyond the extream perfection of your skill this image could be so much more!! but nice job 5 stars

01 January 2005, 03:12 PM
Awesome face, as usual in your works. I've seen in you're site you're preparing a tutorial. That's really nice, for sure it will be usefull. When will it be finished???

01 January 2005, 06:37 AM
sexy. I don't know why it doesn't read as photoreal, but it's damn close. good stuff.

01 January 2005, 12:26 PM

01 January 2005, 12:53 AM
hey man...i love the skin shader you got on that. when i saw the thumbnail i thought you had done some compositing with a real pic or anyway, just had to tell you how much i liked it.:applause:

01 January 2005, 06:04 PM
I searched for some screens from Matrix reloaded to compare, well she is similar indeed... great work...

01 January 2005, 10:46 AM
so real...

01 January 2005, 03:37 PM
Very Nice! Exellent work you have done! Do you plan on a pose for this work? It would be nice to see this posed well. It,s great work it deserves it i think!

02 February 2005, 04:13 PM
The work is juss lovely with hardly much to improvise on...
I would maybe ayway suggest removal of the small wrinkle below the eye and better hair in case possible.
Neverthless, it IS a masterpiece. Cheers.

In my book this even goes beyond Stahlbergs creations (no offence ment).
She's so real I just could fall in love with her bits and bytes.
Yes her dress doesn't look like anything latex like , like in the movies, but boy, did you
nail the hammmer (or is it the other way around?) on this subjects face.

Truely an remarkable model in all
