View Full Version : Help !!! weird edges on my discplacement map

Hey all,

I'm getting weird edges on my discplacement map, I put fix seams on and it fixes it, but then i notice when i go to check uvs they just show up again when i check the uv's, then im able to fix them again,but they come back and so on, is that how its suppose to work ?

Smooth Uvs checked ? Could you post the lowres and the high res please ?

You cant see those little messed up details on smaller version, that pic is just part of big version.

Here is pic of the render in 3dsmax(mental Ray)
It is working good, but has like a little skin texture effect on it, it isnt smooth surface

Here is the zbrush model, If anyone can test this out and see if they know how to fix it, be great :)

Looks like your displacement map isn't 16 bit, that's what causes those striated artifacts. Make sure you are using 16 bit tif files, and that your desktop is at maximum colour depth. A big thread on the problem on:
