Probably an old and noobish question but the only related thread I could find was in the 3DS section, so I apologise in advance.

So, I have a character with all of its pieces parented for FK animation.


but when rotating at the shoulder I'm getting a crazy warp instead of a normal rotation.

Is there a good fix for this or am I lost and confused?

Looks like you've scaled your axes with the object tool. I think you can fix it with the "reset system" command.

Here's a little tip: always use the model tool rather than the object tool unless you have a very specific reason not to (check the manual for the difference).

Thanks Adam but reseting the system didn't seem to work.

It's strange. If I pull the shoulder and its children out of the rest of the body's hierarchy, it will then rotate fine at the shoulder, but it warps again if I try rotating at the elbow.

like Adam said, the axis is scaled. It's clearly visible on your screenshot.
I don't know how you did it, but check in the AM that all axis are set to 1.
