View Full Version : How to texture a aircraft?

Hello everybody....Im trying to texture a aircraft which I did for a game we here are develping...but...I dont know how to do this in the correct way.
I know that have plugins like chilliskiner, but I dont think that is the best way cause it slice the model in so many parts...so...I really need help to do this...im using 3dsmax^5.

mind posting a render of what your plane looks like? then I might be able to help out more. . .
Other than that. . . standard would be UVing with a cyl map for the fuselage and planers for the wings and such. . .but it's more of a case to case basis, so show us your model!

Thanx for the replies.....that tutorial help-me a lot...but anyway i put some images of the aircraft to help you to visualize the aircraft:P

Alright, it's so flat across most of the top, and bottom, you could probably get away with mostly planer maps, except for the front nose.
But all the flight control surfaces, and most of the body could be planer mapped from the respective direction.
