This looks awesum so far dude.
I think i actually like the first two better than the last one but it's prob just the different style.
Can't wait for the final. :bounce:

11 November 2004, 07:06 AM (

this is a quick sketch of the big character,, I am just gonna start modeling him, since this is not really a character contest~ and I don't want to spend couple of weeks in one character.... since I have to create the whole enviroment!! :P

11 November 2004, 07:08 AM
thanks for your reply greentek~

and thanks WilliG~
yeah, ur right WilliG~ the third one everything its too dark,, not much value,, but i just wanted to make things more clear,, so i would have a better idea of what models have to be detailed~ :)

11 November 2004, 06:54 AM (

Hey guys just a little update on my model~

11 November 2004, 06:56 AM (

i won't be gettin into too much detail since he will be mostly facing back,..

One word comes to mind: futuropolis. This is a great composition! Are you considering making the form in the sky -- the one in the centre -- a factory-planet? That would be very cool, and would help extend the scene into the space beyond, instead of depicting just the life on this planet's surface.

11 November 2004, 01:41 PM
I like the sketches that you have done so far, looks very cool. What sort of story line goes with the image. Keep up the good work.

My GSO entry

11 November 2004, 01:47 PM
The sketches look really good!
I like the composition. But in my humble opinion, I think the scene looks way too peaceful, you know, for the "Opera" part, it looks like "A normal day in the life of..." Could you post some background story?
Anyway, the character looks great!! Keep it up!

11 November 2004, 12:08 AM (

little update on my character~

11 November 2004, 12:09 AM (

3/4 view

11 November 2004, 12:14 AM
thanks TiTaNiuM sAMuRa ( vbmenu_register("postmenu_1708832", true); yeah~ i was thinking something like factory planet~ :)
and on the right its like a train of some sort that leads to those planets~

thanks mmoir (, and luigikid vbmenu_register("postmenu_1709090", true);
the story is that the characters in the foreground are going there to take care of business!
they've been traveling from planets to planets to finally take down the enemy on those factory look alike places..
i am have a question? does it have to be a battle going on to qualify as OPera?

11 November 2004, 02:57 AM
i am have a question? does it have to be a battle going on to qualify as OPera?
no.. it doesn't..

11 November 2004, 10:00 AM
Great work! I like that style in those sketches! The composition looks really nice! That 3D model looks a bit lowpoly at this moment, in my eyes, but I think its meant in that way?! :)

Allot good luck,

11 November 2004, 10:09 PM
thanks dutchman~

yeah, they're not that high res... I don't think u will be able to tell w/ textures though, plus they won't be that close to the camera ..
if not,, i have to go back and do some modification.. :)

i will post more stuff later tonight~

11 November 2004, 05:54 AM (

I think your final scene will be good. But add details to your characters.

11 November 2004, 05:04 PM
yeah,, i will be adding more details... hmmm.. i am thinking maybe i should add more poly details on the characters... even though they will be kind of far away....

thanks for your comment~

11 November 2004, 06:57 AM (

Nice concept Young..................I like the idea and layout very much.........I think your plan is one that has alot of potential, and I think you are on the right road to getting there.........The charcaters remind me of the up-coming game "Stranger from Oddworld"...... in some ways.........Nice work, fun and interesting, keep it up,looking very nice..........:arteest:

11 November 2004, 02:58 PM
One of the things I like about this Challenge is the multitude of different interpretations and visions that all the artists have in regards to the subject matter. I like your approach, the style of charactersthat you are going with and I think your sketches are great. I like how your models have been true to your sketches. Keep up the good work and look forward to future updates.

11 November 2004, 11:13 PM

11 November 2004, 03:24 AM (

this is the basic color texture for small character's gun.. need to touch up w/ some rust and more tone..

11 November 2004, 05:38 AM
Man! I am Impressed, I like Your sketches so much, moodeling and also texturing!
At this early phase of your progress I am not sure if I can give any helpfull Critic, so I'll keep an eye here for more evolution

.... Maybe this can help, I like the fat guy with a shirt, exactly as in your sketch, musculature seems too rounded, some wrinkles in clothes will give a very significative change!

Nice to Come visiting!:)

11 November 2004, 08:36 AM (

i updated the texture~

11 November 2004, 08:39 AM
thanks for your reply Climax~
for the big guy.. I was thinking of him having sometype of metal armor or something...
but I see what your talking about~
when i put everythig together I will see what works the best ...and I will keep in mind about your advice w/ the shirt..
Since these 2 character will be kind of far away,, I think I am kind of spending too much time on the textures :P...
well now off to model the Train~ :) and the high poly character in the foreground~

11 November 2004, 07:15 AM
The first sketch agree me a lot... and I when I see the Big Guy... I laughing... it's so good and so interesting... I like your way...

I'm waiting here to see more of your creation... Keep it up man
