Here follows a short depiction of the fall of the andromeda empire

In the year 3684 the empires outpost at 193, 649, alpha received a signal
who's origin couldnt be appointed.
Later on it was decided that this was indeed the first contact with the aliens.

140 days later the first alien ship was fixed on radar. It was soon followed by
another thousand vessles, a combined total equal to the mass of a small sun.
The empire, that had discarded the previous signal as a mere technical malfunction
reacted way to late. With it's ships scattered all over the galaxy the enemy fleet
penetrated the empires defences within the first shivering days of the attack.
It was estimated later that about 15 million people lost their lives before they
even knew what hit them.

During the following two week the alien armada manouvered further in on andromeda
teritory, leaving death and kaos behind. Finally the empire launched a counterattack.
Ships from all over the galaxy had been summoned to fight the plague that tormented
their once peaceful lives but it was in vain. Outnumbered and with poor leadership
the empire army suffered a massive defeat in the initial battle. What was left of the
empire forces fled to their stronghold at the planet of Algarnon and started to prepare
for their final battle...

My scene:

All hope is lost. On a shoreline lookin out across the ocean sits a single soldier.
The last remain of the once so powerful empire. Behind him the alien army is maching
towards his location. He will soon be spotted and killed. And with him, the last
fraction of a empire.

I want to capture a feeling of hopelessnes and defeat. The fall of an empire by lookin at one man.
The pointlessness (a word? :p) of war, like in movies such as the thin red line etc. While war rages and empires crumples the sky can still be so crisp and blue. bird can sing so lovely and flowers can still be so so beatiful

God didnt give me his sharpest pen...
But i just tried to get the general idea and mood of the scene here

11 November 2004, 01:38 PM (

concept of a alien fighter jet.

Designed to operate in both space and in athmosphere.

11 November 2004, 01:41 PM (

alien troopcarrier.

deploys groundforces into battle. Much like the boats used by allied forces during D-day but in greater scale.

I thinks that your final image has great potencial. I like your concepts a lot!
When can we start to see some 3d? heh heh:wip:

This is a great and tragic story, it will be interesting to see how it comes together. I think you will really have to concentrate on that one last lone soldier ( ie: facial and body posture)

My GSO entry

True helplessness...but wait, one man doesn't survive such a massacre just to amuse the Universe! Obviously, since there is a story told - there must have been no honor in killing the last one alive! In a case like this, would his face reflect astonishment, the reality of his lack of faith in God (as though David was defeated by Goliath instead), or would he assume the stance of that gladiator Maximus, and realize he's not affraid of death but will look his enemy straight in the eye, and face the outcome of his fate with dignity.

Keep up the good work! Nice start on the ship model btw!

Hi there! Nice idea, and actually in some way similar to mine. But I agree with Daniel McMillan. In my scene for example I don't want to show any fear. It of course depends on the story and concept, but I think that one of the last humans would not behave in this way. The idea, and the composition is great, but on his face I would prefere some anger, focus, thinking, doggedness, he should hold his gun strongly. This is my opinion. Whatever you decide to do, I think it will be good stuff anyway:) Good luck!:buttrock:
