this website has pretty good advanced tutorials
for all reflection related stuff in photoshop:

I Believe however, that you can do almost the
same with the photoshop 3.

Now, I don't remember what tools v3 has, but here are
the basic steps to get some reflections:
1. create circle (there's no circle selection in v3, so use paths,
or import .ai (illustrator file)
2. fill the circle and make a selection of it.
3. now use airbrush with very low opacity settings (around 7-10)
and do some darker strokes at one end (shadows), then lighter strokes on oposite side (highlights).
4. Now comes the important thing - make new layer, select sharp airbrush with high opacity (80-90) and white color and make a small stroke in the highlight area.

It's hard to explain in words, but check the tutorials on website
above and you'll understand. Basically all you need to create
good reflections is airbrush tool. (although there are many ways
to do this in later versions of photoshop)
