Hurio is a dimension that we can’t even imagine, where languages and nations melt together, where there is nothing to fear because we are all equal, where the planet is surrounded by three suns which gives warmth so things can grow during the whole year. Hurio is a monarchy, it has a king and queen, and the story tells us that this is what we humans call Utopia.

Everything was so peaceful one day when the princess Lotus was playing with her flowers which she adored more than anything. She had her bodyguard by her side that day. Her mother and father were expecting her on the porch to give her a new gift. She came running into the room, just to see her parents when…

A sudden explosion. The pain in Lotus ears made her fall to the ground. And suddenly everything was silent. The only thing she could hear was her own heartbeats.

Lotuses eyes were still shut, her mind was focused on the big blast she had heard. She was too afraid to open her eyes. While she was lying down she got a sense that somebody or something was approaching, she could hear something almost like an animal and something else almost as if it was floating over the room. She felt fear in her heart. What had happened?! Where were her bodyguard and her King Father and Queen Mother?

Lotus heard a voice saying to her. "-Stand up Queen of Hurio!" She hesitated for a second and said: "-Queen? My mother is the queen, not me. "The voice continued "-Not anymore, now you are the ruler and Queen of Hurio, either you want it or not. "She slowly started to open her eyes, the first thing she saw were big legs and hoofs from a horse, and then a big black figure of a man standing in front of her. She noticed that the horse wasn’t a normal horse and that the man wasn’t human, because they have both many mechanical parts.

While she had her eyes half way opened she asked the man: "-Who are you? And where do you come from?" The man said "-Many nations call me different names, but I am formally known as Death."

She opened her eyes fully and could not avoid looking out over the kingdom. And she thought to herself. "It was not possible! A war had begun! , but who was the enemy? The only things she saw where the battleships and defencesystem from Hurio's kingdom, that where striking and bombing the whole nation horribly. "We have not had any wars ever and no perception of it either."

She stood paralyzed and stared out against the devastation that began withering away, she slowly turns her face against Death.

Death said.

"-Queen of Hurio, I have come in order to retrieve what belongs to me, but I got astonished by your beauty, so today, in this day I will make an exception, I will give you the possibility to be reconciled with me." Death puts his hand in his black coat and reached a beautiful watch in front of her. The watch is made of bones, gold and emeralds.

Death continued to say "-Time is always time, because I am time, the quest will be through time." Death stretched his other hand towards the horizon and showed her a path, and said "-That hourglass in the horizon is made by foreign souls, you have time until the hourglass is empty, if you make it I will restore your kingdom and all of the fallen souls in it again, however the price that you must pay if you make it is to become the Queen of my kingdom."

Lotus asked:

"-But if I don’t make it, what will happened then?"

Death answered:

"-Then time will continue as if we never met"

Lotus looks over the horizon and sees Death's men standing along the path to the hourglass and she turns her face against the horse in the room and then she looks at Death and gives the answer that is..........

Just wanted to illustrate the rings that sourounds the kingdoms, this are buildings on the rings on both side upwards and downwards.. i im nut sure how exactly the buildings would look like yet, but in the middle of the rings there would be floating mountains will illustrate that next.

Here i would like to illustrate the "floating" mountains of Hurio,
as you can se they are floatings thanks
to the Jets under it. the Hole nations is traveling and moving throue space this way. (By the jets) i will expalin how its all connected in a later illustrations. but this mountains does float inside (the big rings) illustrated above.

Gunilla and Borro thanks to you both. i will need that luck i think. its good we all started this early in this challenge, last time i started when there was only 1 mont left in the challenge. i though i would make it in time but i didnt there is always somthing in the way. so i wish you 2 the best luck too :thumbsup: :-)

Very nice concept with a fully fleshed out story, that works really well. I envy you that you have this story set out behind you already, it will make things much more together i think. Concepts are looking great, the whole design is coming together really nicely. Be good to see this one!

i will try to make more scetches and more detailed work plans of how things will be build this
week. i think it important to know what to do and not to do. maybe there will be some minor changes to some stuff not sure yet. but i think i will start to modell up things on this monday that comes. i will check out your entry now :-)

great story and concepts are sweet but i cant help but think it will be a challenge to do the idea justice in just one image - you've got your work cut out =)

Here i am illustrating the Horse that Death uses to travel in the story. as you can se some parts are mechanical as the story tells, i dont have time to finnish it because there are so much left to scetch.

Wow! great concept for houses, really like it! but I wouldn't vote for the horse, it's great, but I think it would take too much work and time to model and texture. Or you are a 3d maniac and work very vast:) Then it would rock:bounce:

Man, that's what I call progress... Great sketches. I really like the mithological/dream-like atmosphere you are creating. And very important, cool story. A solid foundation for the mind to come up with ideas. You are in the right track! I'll be checking your stuff often.

Like those buildings! It will be interesting to see how you will solve the ancient-futuristic style. Perhaps some really spaced textures will be a good way? As in shiny,fluorescent, types of materials not yet seen. just keep going!

be in the bakground. sont spend to much time on builing them.

Here is the first modelling i have done of the balcony, this is Beta 1. everything is not aligned in the scene correctly yet. i modelled this using nurbs. the scale is not right yet either.
i will experiment with it.

Agreed, the designs on the balcony look really nice, are you going to carry that sort of design imagery throughout the castle? It would be great to see a sense of unified culture with the architecture.

/PauThat is a tight set! Very elegant looking icons on the railing as well. When light passes through this, it's going to cast a very nice shadow across the actors. My only suggestion is to keep the top part of the railing thinner than the bottom to give it a nice "hand holding" kind of scale as seen in your first mesh.

okey one last update for today.
i have left the ground concept a little as you can see. i think this will be looking better in the end. the only problem i have now is how i am going to put the camera for the rendering. in the end i will break upp all those pices to i will be a mess cause its war.

The last update before i start to modell the girl. i dont want to spend to much time on this building yet. cause as i have mentioned before this will be breaked up to pices later on. and much more junk and hightech stuff will be applied. so now i will start to modell Lotus.

Hi. i have been away for awhile. but im back so i just wanted to update my thread with the a BETA head of lotus.

Step 1: made nurbs modelling of the
basic shape of head.
Step 2: converted the nurbs patches to
poly mesh
Step 3: modified and made some sculputure in zbrush.

:bounce: First of all. i want to say THANKS for all the comments above. :-)

Arturro: i think this is the "hardest" part of the modelling the humanbody,
i have already start to modell her body but i think i will have to check on some references picture. but the idea is to use cloth simuation on the body. so i wont be so conerned about the muscles etc . i dont think it was a good idea to start the modell the head using nurbs and then converting. to much cleanup to do. there will be an update tomorro :-)

So now its time do drink more Coffe :scream: and feel the coffein bost, and just continue this project. not much time left.

will check out all you boys and girls threads in a minute. :scream:

Okey a small update. the head and body
have made some cleanup of the head mesh.
the Body was modelled using Maya Polyscupt and latices.
next step is to start to make some final tuning to the hands . wont modell the feet cause she will have shoes in the final render.

Okey. Then we have the Beta 3 of Lotus.
basic cloth added. next step is to start to fine tune the whole modell. and start to make basic texturering and adding eyeglobes etc... i know she looks a littebit to "old" to be a girl
so i have to fix that to.

she looks skeary now... the design of her dress gives the impression that she is pregnant. You must tweak her general shape, make it more women-like. I was wondering how she would look in a longer dress, so that the end of it would rolled up on the groun... I think it might be good, and fit to her style.
Tell us in what distance from the camera she would appaer in the scene, to tell more or less what level of details is necessary for her to look good.

Yes my friend... yes, yes, very good change in her style:thumbsup: I would add more plaits. Move also her breasts up a bit. And one more advice for the style.. I think that she can look good if you connect the dress with the upper part(the brown part with the red one:) ) and give her some kind of a belt. Keep the progress!

Hello my friend!

I see a nice piece of head here:) I like it. Only the ends of the ears are to be tweaked. They look very unnatural and corrupted.
The area around the mouth also needs tweaking, but I cannot advice now anything as I don't know the direction your are heading. The mouth may be to large, to "fat", but on the other hand in some stylistic design they may look very nice(some feries have sometimes such mouth)
so tell u smore about hte aims here:twisted:

Okey started to make the textures of the head. Lotus wont be render closer than this. i will fix all the modelling before continue to fix all the textures. but just wanted to show that there are things going on :-)

She look promising, but I think that you know what to change:) I can advice to make her face smoother, without so "visible" skull bones. That should make her younger.

Very nice eye texture, but on the model it looks too big. White part is almoust nt visible.

I'm looking forward to seeing her development

Again with all the progress! This is really cool work man, the balcony is just perfect, it all fits together within the design and feels just right.

Have to put my vote in for the earlier dress though... the single piece one with the folds in the lower half, it did sort of make her look pregnant but with some tweaking it is a far more regal design.

Anyoo, enough of my inane ramblings.

Hi there mate! good to see you again. Nice job on her. Last rendering with this photosop touch looks really good. I would only work a bit on her hands. I don't see the reason to make hair in 3d. They look very good, and such addition is for sure "legal":):)

Okey i left lotus fine tuning for a while and started on the skeleton. more updates will be avaible today. since many part of the skeleton wont bee seen in the end. i wont put so much energy that this will be anatomy correct.

The skeleton is almost done. i submitted a screenshot of the joint i had in there before i posed it. next step is to fine tune the meshes and starting the texturering.

be a mesh and painted.

skeary work mate:) but I like it. Only work a bit more on the back legs of the horse. They look strange, as the horse stood calmly.
