Little Project I did in my free time. I am planing to do some short animations with her but Im not happy with her yet. I want some tough cretique. I posted this to the WIP forum but people are far too nice. So rip it apart!
9hrs of work start to finish
Antialiasing at medium enhanced
Skydome for lighting.
Radiosity at 6x14 ( I think )
No Shading noise reduction.
Oh, and I know the right foot polys are jacked, havent taken time to figure that out yet.
Done in Lightwave 7 will probly convert and animate/render in maya.

I like the character but I think that the eyes are too dark. This makes the figure look vicious reather than cute. I'm not sure what you were going for but most anime character have huge specular hot spot on their eyes. Makes them seem extra happy/sad/scared when combined with brow movement.
Clothes look good though. Accurate for the style of character.

She has an odd expression on her face, kind of angry and bemused at the same time. Is that what you were going for? The shadows around the eyes, the angle of the eyebrows, and the shape of the mouth all contribute to that.
Also, if you're going for a really young girl here, her cheeks should be more rounded and there should be a less definite line running from the corners of the nose down to the chin. The top of her mouth is too flat. If she's supposed to be smiling, there would be changes in other parts of the face, like the cheeks would puff up under the eyes and the cheeks would stretch outward.

I don't know if you've gotten to it yet, but you may want to lose some of the symmetry in her dress.

So my first post ... Surfed through various threads and being overwhelmed by the amount of creativity here.
To your nice girl: When I first saw her I wasn't satisfied with her face proportions - I mean, I know she's comic like, but it's too much in my opinion. The eyes, nose and mouth are a little bit to low on the head - and for my taste, the mouth and the nose are to near together.... perhaps it's just the lightning (deep shadow under the nose), but I think it has also something to do with the small upper lip and the revealing ov the lower teeth, which makes her look angry, like pyraxis said.
So I would spend a few more hours on the face, the rest looks pretty good to me
