11-01-2004, 08:52 PM
ok the story goes like this:

the story take place in an other galaxy wich is older

than ours so this allows much more development for some

planets inside of it. Not just tech development but

spiritual. Development in this areas doesnt decrease evil

thoughts of some militar and goverment leaders, this

just gives them more power to get what they want.

Im going to talk about the starters in this story:
"Koox" civilization
"Kinnah" civilization
I.A.:Intergalatic affairs

this civilization has the most powerful technology ever

created for military purpose..so this make war become

their business and theyre trying to use their tech to

destroy other civilizations to showcase their weapons and

proof theyre the best in that so they can sell their

is the oldest civilization in galaxy..they get all their

knowledge asking their oracle and their gods are taking

care of them...this civilization hasnt high tech

resourses...but they use their gods powers to create

powerful weapons..
their planet is the most beautiful and rich planet in all

this is a fundation that takes care of the intergalatic

peace...and they will participate in any war to stop

the facts:
Koox needs to sell some weapons cos their economy depends

on it and also their population is increasing...so they

decided to attack and conquer Kinnah planet to solve their problem.
Kinnah tribe has been warned by their oracle and their

gods are giving them now the power to defend their land.

Kinnah weapons may look old fashion but they will have

the enough power to battle face to face Koox.
I.A: will try to stop this but theyre not interested to

help Kinnah, theyre interested in eliminate Koox and take

control of Kinnah tribe...cos they also want the planet

for their own benefit...

Any aproach af tis story with our galaxy or planet real

facts are just coincidence :)

so lets party!

11-01-2004, 09:09 PM

since space is too big battle ships doesnt have enough fuel to arrive to all battles.
so these transports get this ships closer to the battle

11-04-2004, 07:25 AM
http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/7/4875/4875_1099553144_medium.jpg (http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/7/4875/4875_1099553144_large.jpg)

these ones cover the transport so they can reach sfetly to the battle

so is the one that carry bombs and make special delivery...

11-04-2004, 07:33 AM
Thanx...good luck to you too...now im going to see your progress...

11-04-2004, 07:34 AM
Me gustan los diseños Jorge , seria interesante ver sus respectivas escalas para tener un panorama general de la escena . El background lo veo muy fregon , la lectura que tengo de el no es muy clara todavia debido al cielo, pero realmente me gusta .

well i added a place for the logo of I.A. is kinda flag...and also gives a kinda fish look to the ship...i think is nice...but i want to hear your opinion...the question is do u like it...or not?...your help will be very valuable ...thanx :)

11-06-2004, 11:14 AM
Rattlesnake, Man you have started to rock, transport model is superbly amazing:bowdown: . Very nicely detailed. Flag looks nice what I feel is after texturing is done it will definately look like a flag, You have already given it a cloth like feel with those wrinkles. Yeah it also looks like fish fins but that is the beauty of the whole thing, it is different and not a regular flag.
A very nice update:thumbsup:

11-06-2004, 02:05 PM
Jorge no estoy muy seguro...
In my opinion, I think you should make those fins more rigid, because they look kind of weak against the overall of the ship, or maybe they could be rigid at the base and then become more loose after the spheres (which look like little cockpits), that way it would look more fin-like. Im not sure if I made myself clear :curious:

11-06-2004, 07:18 PM
madshooter: thanx mate! im happy to read u like it...

luigithekid: u meant the metal post that handle the spheres?...hmmm i think more volume there can help...thanx for your advice mate! hope i undertood right:)

11-07-2004, 12:22 AM

this the power ship that will provide some cover to the transport...extra details will be added when texturing ;)

11-07-2004, 06:58 AM
Versiden, DimitrisLiatsos: thanx for your words mates! is really nice to read some good comments from great artist:arteest:like u!

11-07-2004, 08:12 AM
The little ship make me think to a shell... It's not a design too tech, and I like that... your vessels have of heart...

11-07-2004, 09:43 AM
Jorge ! Wonderful forms and design... something unique here... elegants roundness transporter spaceship and yep like Lemog tells the little one's looks like a shell. I really like it a lot + :applause:

I like much the new one with his weapons on the wings, especially with the pipes, it's not aerodynamic, but rather original...

11-08-2004, 09:09 AM
Beautiful sships mate! Nice style. Keep it up.

I was wondering how much are you going to push it with polys in every sship (some polycount/size per ship!). I seem to have some enormous fleets to make too!

11-08-2004, 09:18 AM
woah you've been busy, beautiful models......but then I wasn't expecting anything less from you mate

11-08-2004, 11:31 AM
Cool updates, I like the ghost ship. Only what I feel is if you can clip those wires to the wings coming out from backside of the guns.
Looks Rocking:thumbsup:

11-08-2004, 11:52 AM
Hi Jorge, shame on me....:banghead: haven't visited your thread, 'cause I haven't seen it...what a pity, sorry mate!

11-08-2004, 05:12 PM
Ya viendo los diseños directamente en 3d , empiezan a verse excelentes , tu escalas se ven muy bien y no dudo en que termines con una mega entrada .

Keep going Jorge , the designs are looking great .

11-08-2004, 07:30 PM

Lemog:hi...thanx for your words....u said maybe is not aerodinamic...hmmm do u think it can be fast or is not believable?

terraarc:thanx...ok about my ships im trying to make them not too heavy in poly count...for example the transporter is : 135542 polys... power battleship: 42270 polys ....ghost : 58348 polys....i will add more details with bump maps and coloring maps...

flyingP: thanx friend ;)

madshooter: thanx...your idea is nice...ill try to move those wires closer to the ship...do you think they look bad as thery are now?

Saschi0815: thanx man...im really happy youre here...is always great to have support from great artist like you!... i need to look your work...where is it?..oh ok ill follow the link....thanx friend!

this is the smallest ship...is the one that travels inside the transport...this ship is hard to hit because its size and is very resistant to attacks because its special armour...this make its perfect to massive attack situations...

11-08-2004, 11:22 PM
Like picking apples from a tree.....These wonderful models are coming fast and smooth.....just here to drop off a couple of these.....  for your efforts,as always nice!:arteest:

11-10-2004, 11:10 PM
Hey rattlesnake !
Shame on me ! I didn't even welcome you to the challenge...

But let's talk about your (excellent) work so far, here are my first thoughts :

Maybe somebody already told you (haven't read all the posts) but I think the transport ship is very close to the Star Wars Sandcrawler. Hopefully yours is more rounded but take care...
The rear part is looking strange with the fan (too small?) but maybe you could integrate it better to the general shape of the ship.

I think the scale of the scene is a little small for something really epic. That could easily be fixed by removing the ladder on the transport for an example.

The smaller ships are ok to me.

Just thoughts and ideas...:wise:

11-10-2004, 11:27 PM
Weehooah! For some reason I cannot possibly comprehend I've managed to miss out on the fact that you are indeed here busy working on a challenge entry! :scream:

I rely far too much on my subscription page...

Anyway - totally solid progress here! I particularly like the ghost, the very fast ship... it looks like it too  Expecting the best of stuff here, Jorge.

11-10-2004, 11:54 PM
Se esta viendo muy bien Jorge , quiza pueda detallar un poco mas la parte de la cabina del transporte , a mi parecer lo siento un poco plano .

Keep rocking mate . Nice progress:applause:

Deadly Force: hi...is great to read your comments...they really help a lot...about "Star Wars Sandcrawler" hmmm...i didnt see that picture since a long time ago...but now it comes to my mind and i still think is different...ill try to get the movie so i can compare the Star Wars Sandcrawler with mine...
Well about the fan u said is small..imaybe my concept do not work fine...that part is just a kind of flag...it dont work for any thing else ..is just decorative...but i agree ...maybe looks too weird. i thought this can add a bit fish look to the ship.
and i agree about the ladder...ill remove it...i didnt like it anyway:D
thanx a lot for the help...hope i can fix it well.

oh the ghost is also my favorite...and the power battleship...im happy u are here mate...i think u can really help with your words of wisdom:wise:

adr: Porfavor dime exactamente que parte es...la parte plateada? o arribita de eso?...espero tu respuesta...gracias por los comentarios

some textures for the ghost ;)

11-11-2004, 10:52 PM
I like the textures a lot - we seem to have similar tastes when it comes to colour schemes...

That little powership reminds me of a stylized fat beetle somehow (not the VW car model, but the bug with six legs), very cool design.

Only crits I can think of would be some wear and scratches on the frontal edges of the wings on the ghost... considering it's very fast and probably been busy flying through intense dogfights with lots of debris messing up the paintwork...

Top notch stuff as usual.

11-12-2004, 01:06 AM
Man..your work is so stylised and full of all those tiny details that show that extra care...i like the feeling that comes out of your work(i had this feeling and in your Machineflesh work)...so much extra care in those tiny details....

11-12-2004, 02:49 AM
JamesMK: hi...yes i made that one and the others looking at some bugs....that beetle seems very strong to me and thats why i made my power battleship with tis shape.
i really apreciate the help about textures...its going to look much better if i add some scratches as u said...thanx ...ill be working on it!

DimitrisLiatsos: Thanx ...i really apreciate your words:blush:...is nice to hear that from the "details master" your work is NUT detailed! and brilliant too...thanx a lot your words mean a lot.

11-12-2004, 06:33 AM
Fantastic design and execution. Modeling is a bit repedative though. Maybe something to break it up?

thanx mates...ill do something with the modeling...thanx for the words!:)

11-12-2004, 10:08 AM
Cool design and lots of spaceship there ! It will become a great composition !

11-12-2004, 10:13 AM
Nice to see them all together to get a sense of the relative scale (the so called 'lescale' bwaaahaaahaaaa :D er... nevermind) Looking damn hot! I was going to say something else about one of the wings, but I realise now it's not going to matter considering the size of the ship in question. This will be good stuff.

11-12-2004, 10:27 AM
really do quite like the colour scheme of those, the designs have a really nice original quality to IMO :applause:

11-12-2004, 11:06 AM
Wow, Jorge, very nice texturing:thumbsup: Will there be some little reflections and specific specs on the hulls later on? COuld be sweet!

Really original ship design as mentioned before! Very good overall, Jorge:applause:

11-12-2004, 11:06 AM
Awesome texturing, coming up nicely

11-12-2004, 12:02 PM
Hi Jorge................Well i go away for a day and a half and I come back to see 5 days worth of updates.............

Your fleet looks wonderful,a lot of diversity and still belonging as a unit/fleet..............

The models are pretty detailed, and for a large scope such as this Space Opera theme very detailed.................The shapes and forms, the style are all very nice..................

The textures too are convincing and pleasant to look at,a nice color scheme...............

My only tip....a suggestion not a crit...............Would be to add an extra color,a secondary color to break up the primary one.....Possibly an orange based one,one that will fit well with your brownish tone.....I believe it will add that extra intensity and give your fleet a more vibrant look........Of course just a thought,I know this project is in excellent hands......

I Think your start and direction are on the high road.................And I'll be looking for more as always,it's great to see you continue and put this Space Opera together..........

Take care for now............:arteest:

11-12-2004, 09:57 PM

11-12-2004, 10:04 PM

11-12-2004, 10:50 PM

flyingP: Thanx...original quallty is also part of your designs mate!

that's because I don't really have the faintest idea what I am doing

11-13-2004, 07:45 PM
Just a tiny suggestion, for the ship that has the downward canted wings, you may wish to counter that with some upward pointed rear or forward stabilizers if the vehicle is intended for atmospheric/space travel. As it stands, the vehicle would tumble end over end if let into the air, since the wings would produce a tremendous amount of drag and the engine is mounted high. This creates a torque between the engine and the wings in opposite directions.

Just something to think about, excellent work thus far!

11-13-2004, 08:35 PM
A fleet......Kinnah warrior's.....You are leaving no rock un-turned......A full scale wide scope all the way........As always doing great Jorge........I'll watch for the 3D birth of these warriors Jorge......And yes Essence and Jorge you have a third at least up with you late night's in this time zone.................;) .................Go at it strong Jorge...........:arteest:

11-15-2004, 09:28 AM
Hey there! Great vision to work on there mate! Included a lot of elements on the composition! Waiting for the warriors!:bounce:

11-15-2004, 09:46 AM
I like the ship models. Maybe the color of the ship is quite strange- try to add some dirt when it is sandy color.
But great models

11-18-2004, 05:18 AM

Is looking great Jorge . Keep rocking .

11-18-2004, 06:41 AM

looking good man... I've been working on a head also and I know how tough it is ;((

hard to tell from 1 angle, can u post more?
my 0.02c, for a warrior type of person, I think he's chin/jaw is little weak and soft. I think the ear should be a bit smaller

i made this update before reading your advice...i will correct those things u said...thanx a lot for the help...now im back to:wip:

11-18-2004, 09:10 AM
Hi jorge................

Ok my paso on the Kinnah Warrior................First off it's a very nice start and basically finished modeling wise.............As for any suggestions? let's see........This of course is mostly a taste thing.............I think his body is defined very well......Nice smooth modeling.......I think the body is showing off just the right amount of muscle for an agile warrior......As for the head I think the chin should be "Stronger".......Jut or stick it out a touch, make his jaw line a bit more square.....I think his head is done very well, but I think it should be made stronger,to match a fierce warrior's look,at least what I think a warrior should look like.......The nose looks a bit large, perhaps you could try to make it more "Hawk like".more thin on the bridge, and smaller and sharper at the tip..........

Again just small suggestions, what you have is really a nice piece of work....But my take is to become more rugged, tough, fierce looking he would need the above adjustments......I could be off to what you think Jorge.......But I want to give you an extra thought here,an extra set of eyes..........:) :arteest:

Ok,get to more,I'll be waiting for more as always......I know this is one great thread, and will just blossom all the more with time...........I'll be here to watch it all un-fold......See you soon Jorge, and keep up the exceptional work,it's great to watch you do your thing........:arteest:

Versiden and virtuoso: i made the chin hrer...u think is enought?

thanx for the help is really very apreciated!

11-18-2004, 04:32 PM

friens: i meant :friends
teking: i meant : tweaking
hrer: i meant: harder
h: i meant: .

and maybe theres others...sorry...this dam keyboardddrdxz!!

11-18-2004, 04:40 PM
in your situation is the keyboard, in mine is the poor english...

betuful textureing work and I'm impressed about the soldier modelling, very promising :buttrock:

11-18-2004, 05:03 PM
uka, sou, de provlem eez dat güi ar nut beri gud een inglich...

Suggestions & crits:

Humanoid concept- Go wild with the anatomic design! Inspire yourself in animals, think about different planet conditions and the way humanoid could adapt.

Humanoid body- The arm is too short and the wrist is not clear enough.

Humanoid face- The cheek is too squared to the front to the face; you can see it in the lateral view.

Sorry about my thread, I have some work to do:scream:

11-18-2004, 06:39 PM
Great to see some character work in progress here too (hmm, have to start on that as well sooner or later)... There are some issues with the character in its current state, but I think they have already been mentioned. Knowing your skillz, I feel entirely confident that it will end up looking absolutely perfect as always... Funny thing about your keyboard btw, I've got that problem too from time to time.

11-19-2004, 03:12 AM
Hi Jorge................I think he is much better.....Rugged and rough and tough warrior wise.....I can see the changes very well..............I still think the nostrils could be less flared out (Taste thing)........Plus perhaps to make him more "Noble" looking you could still try to narrow the bridge of the nose a touch, sleeker,I think this too will show more of a fierce lean fighting warrior......The chin is about 75% better from what I had in mind.....I still think when seeing him in profile the chin looks to drop off a bit,it still needs more strength, size,a jutting out look.......

It really is a fine model,my thoughts are strictly taste things, your modeling is clean and smooth...............I am just mentioning what I would do with a model in this circumstance, trying to put myself in your shoes here.....:arteest:

So.................My take is still a stronger chin, and a bit more of jaw line build up,with some leaning out of the nose........Again just a taste thing.....Because what you do have is already ready to go to texture World................Hope my extra two eyes help some Jorge,I admire your work, and expect and know this will be a wonderful entry..........See you on your next update Jorge.............:arteest:

11-19-2004, 04:15 AM
jddog: thanx friend!:)

mosconariz: gracias por tus sugerencias y observaciones...son de mucha ayuda...
thanx a lot friend!

JamesMK:cant wait to see your character!:bounce:..thanx for the suppot!

heres the older version of it: http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/7/4875/4875_1100795132_large.jpg

11-19-2004, 05:21 AM
hey buddy...here's my take on the chin area...maybe if you rotated forward the lower jaw around the chin and low lip...chose a rotate point in the center of the cheek, in line with the bottom of the nose...probably my sugestion dosen't make much sense,,,so feel free to ignore it  ... this is just an opinion, It look great right now, and will look primo with textures...noticed everyone talking about the jaw line though and though I'd throw in my 2 centZ.....now back to work you :wip:

11-19-2004, 06:56 AM
heya, funky stuff.. I dig comparing heads.. ;p

I think the cheek looks a bit flat, the edge is a bit hard at the smile lines...

It's hard to picture without the textured version, I think most ppl look strange without eyebrows - I wonder how other ppl approach this?

11-19-2004, 11:04 AM
Hi Jorge,

haven't seen your entries a long time - shame on me.....and mate: what a wonderful update:thumbsup:
Great character! Respect, man!
...but one little crit about the nasolabial folds...the front looks great...in the side view the fold seems to be too strong imho ... but's only a little thing...
You go a straight way to the cg-heaven...keep it up, dude!

11-19-2004, 11:12 AM
hey man cool modeling so far!... just i think that proportions aren`t right! his ears are too big , esspecially that part down !
fix that !: D

11-19-2004, 01:54 PM

11-19-2004, 09:24 PM
essencedesign:thanx for your comments...i will try what u suggested...u mean tu pull out the center of the chin right?

Versiden:thanx frien!..ill will try to fix it

Saschi0815: thanx a lot...is great to hear good crits about my work...but is better when they come from an exelent artist like u...thanx friend!!...oh and ill smooth a bit the lines u said:thumbsup:

markovicd.: thanx ...ill fix the ears...u have a point there and i will change it...thanx for your help

overcontrast: thank u man!

11-19-2004, 09:41 PM
Jorge................Yes it's much stronger now......I think with a bit more pulling out of the chin you should also widen the jaw line, make it more super hero like........It's really down to a taste thing, but for me I would like to see a more styliszed look a more caricature style, realistic toon look..............It really depends exactly what you have in mind,if you are up for more of this you should go for the more xxxagerated look, but if it's real you are basically spot on now......You want that realistic toon look more don't you,don't......you?,,,,;)

All turbo jets on Jorge, burn those jets at warp speed.............:arteest:

11-19-2004, 10:04 PM
You want that realistic toon look more don't you,don't......you?
lol...yes thats the idea...thanx again my friend....now is time to boost the engines an finish this warrior...ill make the adjusments along with the armor...so next update will show more interesting things...:wip:

11-19-2004, 10:07 PM
I knew it...............  ................bring on the fun.And strap on the booster jets Jorge........I'll be waiting............:arteest:

11-22-2004, 03:39 AM
Good job here pal, I wish u the best!

11-22-2004, 07:17 AM
Real good work here... but one thing disturb me... in the latest picture, there's 3 different view... like if there's 3 differents man... in the front view, he seem a strong man, the middle one, he seem more simpathic, and at right, more young... I think that's certainly due to the reducing form of the top of his face... and maybe too to the large base of his nose... only visible on the front view.

11-22-2004, 11:28 PM

Pinche Jorge, ¡está de huevos!

11-22-2004, 11:45 PM
Amazing modeling, brilliant concept - I'm inspired! If there is anything to be improved in your warrior model, I think it would be the cross strap on the chest. Perhaps it should conform to the body more up around the collarbone... I know it's a small thing, but a model this awesome deserves to have every little detail perfect.

I'll definitely be watching this thread!

11-23-2004, 02:30 AM
mosconariz: gracias!

straightforward:thanx a lot for your words!:love:and thanx for the advice...i think you are right about it...and i will correct it...

...gracias ...saludos!!

11-23-2004, 06:20 AM
Damn, that model kicks ass, so much more than my stinky city! Cheers to you

11-23-2004, 06:20 AM
• YEAH! some Aztec warriors to kick some Alien Butts!

11-23-2004, 06:42 AM

looking awesome dude.. what else can I say ;p

hey - how did you do the top hair strands? is that splines or a hair plugin?

maybe you can give him some ear rings or other piercings ;p

keep up the good work!

11-23-2004, 07:56 AM
great finish on the warrior man...I knew you had a big update comming....the details are top notch...the boots look especialy greAT...keep on going...I know ther are great things to come... :applause:

11-23-2004, 09:58 AM
Hey man, this model is looking very good, I especially like the detailing on the front of the boots.

I'd say that his fingertips are a bit square, particularly the thumb and that his pectoral muscles are bulging out a bit too much to fit his generally quite slender physique. But this is just nit-picking.

Good stuff, looking forward to seeing him posed.

11-23-2004, 10:03 AM
Woohooo! ¡está de huevos muchos like a lot really!

Boots seem a bit too wide and flat (the foot bit... not much, but a little) and I have to second Swamps point about the pectoralis.... Overall top notch, really, yes

11-23-2004, 10:08 AM
OH yes! :bounce:

11-23-2004, 10:11 AM
Greatly executed!
One thing I find kind of odd is his chest (but maybe it's the certain pose)

Keep it up mate

11-23-2004, 10:56 AM

Climax: lol...yeah something like that

Versiden: i made those hair strands with lofts...with not too much steps so they are not too heavy...and he has earrings...but maybe too small ones...is a good idea to make them visible...thanx!!

essencedesign: thanx...i really like the boots too !..thanx for your kind words!

Swamps: hi...youre right about everything u said...and im going to work on the flaws....thanx for the advice...is very apreciated!!

JamesMK: ROLF!!! did u know what u said?!...is ok friend...very inspiring words...thanx a lot...i really like to hear advice from u...u always have good tips for us!!...thanx!..ill fix the warrior!

i made some adjusments as some of u suggested:

1.- i pulled back the chest...a bit.
2.- made feet a bit smaller
3.- make the middle chest band fits beter
4.- im working in making less box looking the fingers and in some more details like earrings and so ;)

11-23-2004, 12:01 PM
James: hey...it sounds nice man!...that words means...something like..."your work rocks"

double posted

gives me more to praise hehe

I didn't read any concept story behind your entry yet.
the character makes me think of some kind of wise man.
did you get inspiration from native tribes?

anyway, great stuff, but said that allready:)

11-23-2004, 05:33 PM
Hi Snake,

huh..your stuffs are coming along nicely.

This figure has good proportions and those chains on boots are so lovely.. will you add something more to his hands? weapon, etc...his right hand looks a bit "empty" now.
everything else is just perfect!! bowdown, wish u a lot of time on this project.

11-23-2004, 05:43 PM
Hey cool model and nice concept too.

11-23-2004, 05:50 PM
Oooh, warrior looks perfect... very "ethnic" touch too...

11-23-2004, 05:57 PM

Great modelling here :p! just that i want to say

I'll will keep an eye on this thread...lol

11-23-2004, 07:11 PM

hhssuu:thank u!

JamesMK:thanx friend!

radu3: i apreciate your thougts...thanx for support!!

11-23-2004, 07:14 PM
DimitrisLiatsos and Lemog:: i really apreciate your support...you:arteest:

11-23-2004, 08:16 PM
Hi Jorge.............Well he has come along quite nicely,a pretty quick pace, and done with quality.............The face now has that look.......That more rugged, strong, fierce, hero look,he just looks the part now....... .................I like your body work, and the thme, the tribal like appearance..................I was going to say the fingers, from what I can see looked a touch blocky, but I read you are onto fixing them a touch........I think you should, because a small thing like that can ruin the rest of the excellent modeling.........Plus seeing your past work I know you can do some excellent fingers....those tricky things that they are.............:wip: ;)

A full scale attck,a wild one is coming here, and I plan on watching it all.......Keep it in the fastest of lanes Jorge........all the best and go at it strong........:arteest:

11-23-2004, 10:55 PM
That warrior is very "Tribe-looking".
I guess he escaped Mad Max 3 because he was bored, and decided to join your grand space opera project looking for real action !!:D

Maybe you could round his biceps a little.
And I would try to scale down his head 95 or 98% down (yeah I know it's very precise but i'm some kind of a maniac you know...;) )

Anyway, your character already looks good. So keep up the good work !:buttrock:

11-24-2004, 08:04 AM
looking good mate... the back shot looking cool too...

a few suggestions tho ;p

I think pull the quadriceps down a little so his knee caps don't appear to be sticking out. They look a bit 'knobbly', his legs look quite muscular, but they stop too short where his knees start - um, hope u know what I'm trying to say..

and then frosting on the cake.. add his nipples, and it should look perfect, on to texturing..

Virtuoso: hi friend...yes i tried to fix the fingers but some how in some views they look really nice..and sometimes boxy...i think is problem with my displacement map...i need to make some testing

Deadly Force:LOL!!
thanx for your advice friend...i didnt read until now...im going to fix that ...

Versiden: oh...i just read your comments...i really apreciate help...i will chance the muscles shapes...thanx man!

11-24-2004, 05:30 PM

Keep the hard work man . I really like the skin texture that you put in your char , maybe you can test with another coloros in his custom , but is a personal taste about it , you have the final word mate

11-24-2004, 08:39 PM

todavia no le pongo texturas a la ropa...solo fue la piel...la ropa todavia no le hago nada...solo le cambie el color a material base:D

The skin is the only one with textures right now...the rest....i will finish it today!!!
thanx for the support mate!!

11-24-2004, 08:47 PM
OK...first u are fast man...
...second i like it ..u can also play with the specularity of his skin more ..but i am not sure yet if this is a good advice....
...third..i like his hands very mucho! ..mui bien Ombre :scream:
..now...more...u are giving me ideas ......

11-24-2004, 10:11 PM
thanx a lot Dimi...i trying to adjust specularity...i get rid from some speckles it has at this level...please tell me what do u think

11-25-2004, 09:29 AM
Texturing looks great in the last one! :)

May we see a head close up?

Keep it up rattlesnake!

11-25-2004, 09:40 AM
Looking very nice Jorge......I can expect this from you.........I was thinking that eventually you could even consider adding more "tribal" like symbols or artifacts on your fleet of vessels as well, they will go well with your characters.........Your character has turned out very nice, the fingers are now as I had expected, and are very nice, well shaped............The textures are looking good too.......You have yet another very nice entry, lots of modles and all done with quality.........I'll be looking for more...........But you knoww that......;) :arteest:

11-25-2004, 08:55 PM
Hello... It's the first time I'm in your thread, where were you man? :)
You are doing great!!! Very good models, keep it up!

other little adjusment at the specular...i feel happy with this one ...i think ill keep it...

I really am not an expert but i also think that ..yes this is better...a thought also that came in my mind ..but i don't know if u will have good result....the grey Black noise that u have generally on his texture....if u blur that a bit ..does he look better or not..sorry i can't imagine it..just a thought ....This is great man..i like this guy very much...and i also think that u have achieve to give him that tribal look

11-26-2004, 02:38 AM
terraarc: yes im going to post a close up now...but i didnt make eyelashes cos it slow too much when rendering

Virtuoso:thanx for your words...and i think youe idea is very cool man...ill try it!

thank u man ..for the support...about the dark noise...i like this way...cos when i blur the texture gives a plastic look to the skin...thanx for the comment mate...is always welcome!

face close up...need some eyelashes...but this slow the rendering time too much...so he is going to stay without them...ill probably add a big scar on the face next...

11-26-2004, 06:44 AM
looking good mate...

I wouldn't go so far as eyelashes, I think you wouldn't really see those details... maybe u could add them in post later.

texturing is really nice, scars would add more of a history and a sense of experience.

11-26-2004, 07:05 AM
Great Work Jorge... very impressive... I find these textures... this aspect very sweet... I think it's so important for the global mood...

11-26-2004, 07:56 AM

11-26-2004, 08:24 AM

Sticking here for more! :)

11-26-2004, 12:24 PM
Nice again Jorge on this latest update.........I think eye lashes can be left in post.I think you could also consider beeds as extras................Nice painting jorge, the textures look real nice.I would add feathers too,and war paint? Perhaps decorations and symbols too on weapons?.......Ok I'll be stopping by again as you continue Jorge, keep it up,your doing a very nice job,and it's great to follow your progress.............:arteest:

11-26-2004, 10:09 PM

11-26-2004, 10:29 PM

Great work
I like a lot the Ships

11-28-2004, 05:30 PM
Great rig work here apparently :bounce: All very stylish. He looks like a nice guy, though you'd better not make him your enemy.... The skin still suffers a bit from the 'bronze zombie' problem, but then I'm not sure how he will be lit and so on for the final... Stunningly good work here, Jorge.

11-28-2004, 07:00 PM

11-28-2004, 08:52 PM
very impressive mate, the finishing touches would be to add some facial animation..

Versiden: im moving the clothes very easily...since this wont be animated...for this challenge at least...i decided to pose the clothes moving its vertex...i made the clothes with just a few vertices rows , this makes very easy to manage the clothes using a soft selection...i just linked the cloth to the shoulderpads...:wise:

Saschi0815: thanx friend

mosconariz: yeah...i made it!! now this guy is ready to rock!! thanx for your support friend!!

12-01-2004, 10:30 AM
Hey Suckerpunch fartswell needs a bodyguard Jorge................bring that bad boy over to my universe...........Suckerpunch does'nt pay well, and he can be quite the bastard, but he will let your warrior ride on the steel steed, and cause trouble for the Wee steambots. That can be fun, those poor lil'Steambots..............By the way....cool flexible fingers, nice rigging.......Looking real nice Jorge.Love the pose, keep the eye candy coming, bring it strong Jorge..............:arteest: :arteest:

12-01-2004, 12:21 PM

flyingP:yes im with u ....the hand should face more to the neck...but i cant make the arm bones twist correctly for this purpose...and the arm suffers an ulgy deformation...twist your arm and u can see how your wrist and bones of the arm twist...this is what i cant achieve with the biped im using...if u have a clue on how to solve that i will really apreciate the help...thanx for the advice man:love:

12-01-2004, 04:55 PM

actually I have seen a number of rigs that solve this usually using extra bones in the forearm and a xpression that controlls their banking movement, in other words bones in the arm closer to the wrist twist more but the elbow stays stable... not sure if that helps

12-01-2004, 05:04 PM
...twist your arm and u can see how your wrist and bones of the arm twist...this is what i cant achieve with the biped im using...
Yeah, that's a tricky nut to crack... thank god for low-poly toony characters :D ... otherwise I guess the pig makes a good suggestion. Another way is to add an FFD deformer or similar to the part controlled by the lower arm bone (the bone would also be the parent of the deformer), twist the lower bone until the hand lines up as intended, then repair the damage done using the FFD and finally set up an expression that drives the FFD influence based on the banking of the lower arm bone.

yes that helps a lot friend!!! thanx...i thought that maybe biped can make this with out creating extrabones...but i think i must do it the way u told me.... really thanx!

12-01-2004, 05:08 PM
JamesMK: hmmm interesting idea...sounds cool from my point of view...i will try that ...thanx for the help...:bounce:

12-01-2004, 05:15 PM
Though I would certainly try the Pig's suggestion first. He has after all more experience with rigging than I do :wise:

12-01-2004, 05:18 PM
You're character modelling is outstanding; the color pallette on your textures are very rich! I especially like how you have designed those various ships, particularly the smaller fighter jet. The level of creativity is nothing short of amazing. Keep up the great work and best of luck in the challenge!
