how can i find my computers HOSTID? Thanks.
Usually this means the MAC address of your machine. Open a command prompt (start, run, type: CMD). In the dos window type: ipconfig /all
The "Physical Address" is the Mac address of the network card, its in a XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX format. I know Maya uses this for its license.

I have tried that but Shake 2.51 doesn't work? any other suggestions Sieb? thanks

AFAIK Shake uses FlexLM.
Find "lmtools.exe" in your C:\ drive and run it. You can find Ethernet Address in the System Settings tab.
type in the shell "lmutil lmhostid" then it will return with HOSTID which is exactly same thing is Ethernet Address (MAC)
Also Sieb is right, you could find MAC address by typing ipconfig /all you should look under the Ethernet NIC.

If you don't have lmtools, go to www.google.com. Type in lmutil. Hit I'm Feeling Lucky. Voila. Follow murtle's suggestions, and you should be fine.
