Todd Duggan has entered the Grand Space Opera 2D.
Little background info about myself...
I'm 17 and currently attending the Art Inst of Seattle for graphic design and hoping to get a little experience with this competition. This is my first experience with anything of this sort but, I recently ordered a wacom which should be here anyday and until then i'll have to submit pictures of concepts. Anyways best of luck to everyone and thank you for any suggestions or comments you may have. Please be as harsh as you can ;)

Basically the idea behind this concept is some sort of fleet traveling across the surface of the sun.

Basically a battle of egyptian ruins or a similar civilization on another planet. Not really liking this concept though...little to busy for my tastes.

Of the ideas I think i might like this one the best. I was thinking either the crowning of a king which only happens when the 2 moons aline. Or possibly a priest of some sort performing a ceremony when the 2 mores aline in which the city rejoices with fireworks and celebration etc. Im having difficulty showing that hes in a over-sized stadium type setting though...not sure how i could get that across to easily.

I'm going with the last concept but possibly different view, i downloaded several stadium type images and am going to come up with several different compositions for the concept any suggestions would be appreciated

I love the traveling on the sun concept, very unique idea. I would try lowering your horizon line if you want give the shot of being in a huge collesium (sp?). I did a quick mock-up in painter.
1 - Shows how it might look if you lower the horizon line but my stadium looks kinda flat and not as concave like it should be.
2 and 3 - Think of a stadium as a big bowl.
I'm not that good at perspective so these may be totally off. You've got some good ideas, keep at it!
