Soory I'm taking so long to get started. Must get finger out!!!

11 November 2004, 12:55 AM
Don't worry we all take some time to kick start our engines

First idea.
Finally getting going. Have the idea of an army of giant robots destroying all before them in a vast canyon like city.
Classically space operaish -I hope.

Great start,

I can see some great concepts coming out of this. I love the way you approach quick sketches, I do them the same way. Colour makes it so much more expressive. I'd love to see more quick sketches. Keep it up!

"They look like ants from all the way up here."
"They are ants!" Bill gates

that is what that sketch reminds me of, Family Guy. Then agian almost everyother thing dose, so ... yeah. Like it so far, post more ideas :D!

11 November 2004, 03:16 AM
Yeah, this certainly has alot of potential for depth of field, lets see some more!

Thanks guys. This is an exploration of previous image. Thaught about having two guys in huge hole in building. Still very much concept stage. Will need to explore different viewpoints.

11 November 2004, 10:05 PM (

Have added more robots. Given it eerie look. Two humans so obviously about to meet their maker -a last defiant stand. Background not resolved.

Waaaah Cool
Really love the giant robots.

I'll keep an eyes on this thread:bounce:

11 November 2004, 10:36 PM
lol those guys are about to get owned.i dig the robots, nice.could have more weaponary though.i doubt if the humans new how big these guys where they wud have......two guns.

11 November 2004, 10:52 PM
very nice, love the light and dark, the story, everything

11 November 2004, 11:04 PM
Cheers guys. Yeah they need more weapons but don't want to do the usual japanesey -is that a word?- thing where the robots are covered in attachments and you lose the simple overall form. Prefer the menace that is created by their scale rather than tons of ordinance.

11 November 2004, 11:34 PM
Great sketches! The last iteration with the 3 robots has a really nice sense of drama about it. Clean and too the point. When I first looked at it, I saw the robots as having been there a very long time as if they were deactivated or in some kind of hibernation. Lots of dust and debris that gathers over a long period of time.

Great stuff!

i was reffering to the humans....i mean come on surely they had sum idea how big the bots where, and they bus' out with puny guns hehehehe.hope that helps.

11 November 2004, 11:50 PM
Oh awesome man. I've always loved hopeless causes ;) Seriously way cool idea. I wish I had thought of it.

11 November 2004, 12:26 AM
Cheers guys.
NOOB! you are dead right. Must re-equip them.

11 November 2004, 02:08 AM (

Further enlarging canvas to bring in more of city.

11 November 2004, 09:57 AM
btw don't know if it finalised yet but the humans, especially the one on the right looks as if they are tipping over.

i think u where goin for a perspective view *birds eye view* and it didn't work properly in my eyes. heh i could be wrong, just my input.

still a great piece

11 November 2004, 02:56 PM
Yeah the 2 figures were done in very quick sketch that i never fixed. Time to do an alternative view/concept before I get too bogged down in detail too soon.

11 November 2004, 09:44 PM
Great work Jason! Excellent scale and rendering of the robots.

11 November 2004, 09:49 PM
That is a great idea! I like how its all sketchy and yet it seems like a finished peice. Keep it up.

11 November 2004, 01:27 PM
Your idea is great and your style is excellent.
Great job

11 November 2004, 06:24 AM
Looking real good. Values and shapes are working nicely.

11 November 2004, 09:18 AM
Hi, All my encouragement for your project to follow.... the design of
the robots are cool good luck...

11 November 2004, 08:47 PM
hey those guys are very scary. i sorry about that little soldiers

11 November 2004, 09:29 AM
wow! nuff said

11 November 2004, 01:53 AM
great work man I too like the scale of the robots, its definately a lost cause for the humans.
I only wish they did have some other type of defence against those giants though.

11 November 2004, 08:58 AM
Try drawing them escaping form the robots. That would solve the "puny guns" problem ;)

11 November 2004, 06:51 AM
I really like your idea, the robots look great and the sense of scale works well.

It would be nice if your humans looked a bit more scared though. Right now they look a bit casual for two people about to get squished/toasted etc.

12 December 2004, 03:06 PM
Great concept!
I love the scale and the hugeness of the robots.
Can't wait to see further (lighting, mood....)

Hang on and good luck friend!
