10 October 2004, 10:11 AM
you're ship still needs a key??

pah... your just so 23rd century...

10 October 2004, 03:05 PM
Go, go Goli....try and climb one step up the ladder this time ehh?
This Thread sure going to be a must see for every body...

lets have some fun again this time my friend

10 October 2004, 03:38 PM's an old ship, yes, but very does 20 parsecs per hour  (in fact that depends of what "hour" we speak about, in my sub-solar-system one hour is ten of yurs, so that explain you have already so many great sketches and me....argh) !

Vincent, It's good to meet again..:) on a so inspirating (!) theme. I wonder what will ride out your insane (but very productive) brain.
I'll try to do my best, otherwise it's not funny. I think I'll submit some sketches this evening.
See you soon vince-friend.

10 October 2004, 05:49 PM
Master Goli! :bounce:

10 October 2004, 12:11 AM

10 October 2004, 01:42 AM
haha this is funny, the buildup is huge! =D

10 October 2004, 03:21 AM (

Well, I have to start.
It's an ancient ship, which as many others, a long time ago...tried to go to the inaccessible planet...

10 October 2004, 03:56 AM
i knew you where hiding something special, i looks extremely promising mate, im watching closely. :bounce: :buttrock: :D

10 October 2004, 05:21 AM
being able to show form so well is such a good skill to have. good concept, it definately conveys the feeling of the concept idea. although maybe it needs to be a little clearer what is what in the image. even so, the mood and texture is amazing!

keep them coming, im not the only one who appreciates it, not by far!

10 October 2004, 05:27 AM
fantastic sketch ... love how you expressed so much with so little ... definitely projects mystery & massiveness

10 October 2004, 06:17 AM
hehe.. we r all doomed ;) Cant wait to see what kind of details will u fill in. :) Go goli!

10 October 2004, 06:26 AM
haha, i love the secondary 'sense of doom' - we are effectively competing against this guy!

10 October 2004, 11:54 AM
ooooooooooooh... what an intriguing start.

Lovely shapes, textures and lighting already.... reveal the mystery to us!!

10 October 2004, 02:26 PM
A great stage for a space opera, all you need now is a cast :) Nice work

10 October 2004, 03:39 PM
The shapes look promising. Ecpecially the thumbnail version shows an interesting composition.
Let´s watch how it develops.

"I´ll be back" :)

10 October 2004, 07:56 PM
it's amazing how this image with just the suggestion of detail looks so cool. Great start. The cool thing is we're probably all interpreting it differently. Great composition.

10 October 2004, 08:11 PM
ooooooooooooh... what an intriguing start.

Lovely shapes, textures and lighting already.... reveal the mystery to us!!

just what I was thinking, you've got me curious with that Jeff :D

10 October 2004, 09:21 PM
common guys ... put more pressure on him! expectations must rise a lot more !

maybe then we others have a chance.....

hehe... nice sketch goli .... i like ur brush brush :D

10 October 2004, 05:29 PM
Hello Goli,

you balances finally and see the power nothing with some
masses. Go!go! go!

10 October 2004, 08:02 PM
This is just the beginning, and it's already promet !!

10 October 2004, 09:59 PM
Hello everybuddies..

Thanks for these (those, these, ..I never know !!arh) encouragments and kind words...
Not enough time to spend on it, as I'ld like to...anyway...I didn't expected such a feelback for this first sketch ! I try to find other ideas with my lonely neurone...with characters..something completly different of this one... try to find idea(s!) really original for a space opera..not too far away from the theme...but..difficult to find something without ships, planets...these (those ? :):) ) elements are the basis of space opera!!!
So it's the "point de vue" which ask work...This particular theme imply reflexion (arh!!) not only draw.
Well I'll post something this evening...

Good work to all !:)

10 October 2004, 12:12 AM
Surreal and with tons of mood......................It's the titanic tipping over is'nt it Goli......;)

Keeping a look out here for more, always more..................Beautiful,and done with such elegance.:arteest:

10 October 2004, 01:32 AM
Hello Virtuoso ! Your work is very promissing and your modeling is, as usual, completely crazy, and I like the "child" side-vision you put in it, it's an original way for this theme..great.

Well, I've promised a new sketch ... hum.
I'm leaving for the week-end but I bring my pencils and some paper..always in quest for a good idea...I keep in mind this previous one, sort of eternal "France" (the french Titanic but which still ON the oceans) on an escaped Earth, near the inaccessible doom world. I have a picture in mind who stay and don't want to leave me...some liners, 3 or 4, cruising between worlds, red and black.

Have a good week-ends and see you on monday all !

cheers, regards etc..

10 October 2004, 10:47 PM
hey goli!!! Encore un frenchie putin d edoué^^
ac starbuck et toi ca promet de donner une belle image de la france ;)

Good luck man ! good start :) hope see more soon :)

11 November 2004, 03:09 PM
Love this kind of style ...really artistic, a feel of Grandness...painting style almost remind my of a English painter, Turner(William Turner i think)..

11 November 2004, 06:16 PM
Come on, man...........get more art posted.......I can't wait to see how this've got my attention!

11 November 2004, 02:08 AM
I wanna see what Goli comes up with most and he's lagging (i'm on the sidelines for this one but will be in on others). Some of you artist here are extremely good. I was struck by Goli's early pencil drawings in the metalflesh contest so i wanna ,hopefully, see more drawings but nothing yet...oh well.
P.S just kidding about the lagging comment :D

11 November 2004, 10:50 AM
Still nothing? come on... goli goli goli! :D I hope it helps ;)

11 November 2004, 01:44 PM
Hey Goli, good to see you in this contest! The first concept looks great! I can't wait to see what else you come up with. I guess I have to wait until you get back, huh? :p

11 November 2004, 02:25 PM
Hi guys.

Thanks for comments and nice encouragments !
I'm very buzzy...and have not enough time to do this contest as well as I wish..arh..
BUT...I can tell you I'm going to do my best for it...
Sorry to be so few here...
And sorry too for my pooooooor english, as usual.
See you soon..I promise.

11 November 2004, 03:15 PM
Hello dude!

Great entrance with your new concept! I really hope you'll be able to get all the time you need to push your idea like we all know you can do!!!

Good luck!!!

May the force be with you...

11 November 2004, 04:50 PM
Hi Jeffrey, I just managed to get my design more or less finished to the point were i'm happy to proceed.

I start my new job on Tuesday, so I'll be in a similar position for creating as much time. The most stressful part of an Illustration is the initial design problems. After that it's the fun stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing your's develop like last time.

Good luck

11 November 2004, 07:00 AM
I love derelict spaceships- this has a Titanic feel, I hope you run with this. Or anything with a drelict spacehip in it.

11 November 2004, 10:29 PM
yeh it looks really good! i love the perspective and depth of it. when i was looking at the thumbnail it seemed as i8f the the distance was even further and the scale bigger.. perhaps worth considering?

11 November 2004, 03:18 AM (

one of ships which gonna fly for war..or escape..or...well..something.

11 November 2004, 01:12 PM

11 November 2004, 03:51 PM

12 December 2004, 02:41 AM
Great ship Goli, cant wait to see how it will fit into your composition, im guessing though that this one is still somewhat of a struggle to get into, im feeling it too (Daily). Hopefully when i go on my yearly leave from work, i will find the time and inspiration to do some more work on it myself although i mustnt leave it too late. Goodluck mate, and keep in touch. I hope your website is going well too.

12 December 2004, 04:57 AM

Hello guys !

Thanks for nice worlds, always so appreciated.
Time is running..I'm not sure to finish this contest.. :( I'm working on my comic book..I have to perform it before 15 of january (not all the book, just the initialization) and I put all my energy in it, so...
I wish you all the best in this word and others, friends.

12 December 2004, 05:39 PM

12 December 2004, 06:54 PM
Squibbit and dear Panu and Noelt : Yes I have previews ...but I can't show them here..I gonna make a site dedicated for that..I don't know when.

Adonihs : sorry sorry sorry...I can't, really..You have great worlds, thanks...:(

Tranchefeux : Thanks too for so nice comment (even the end of your message :scream: ). Yes the real challenge is to manage this contest AND the other're right...I have no excuse, except maybe this consuming time for me....simply I do not have time enough to do both...that's all..

Thanks Techart, your work is really really good, i love it alot too. :)

12 December 2004, 07:06 PM
Hey Goli,

I hope you find the time to complete your entry. As you proved in the machineflesh challenge - your work is gorgeous.

12 December 2004, 08:32 PM
U shown us that u could finish anything in a very short period of time (MF challenge) so I believe u could do it even now ;) I also have to produce 300 pics till middle of January (150 I already did in last 2 weeks) so Im sure u could do it even better :)

Good luck and best wishes from me!

12 December 2004, 04:44 AM
Hey Goli, the ship looks absolutely amazing, and let's hope you can complete it. Like you I have a mountain of work to complete and are having doubts as to whether I can complete mine...

01 January 2005, 12:30 AM
Your ship looks great, Goli! It reminds me of one of the ships from the Matrix. That's a good thing.

I'm sorry you don't have time to finish your entry, though. I was looking forward to seeing what you would come up with after seeing the amazing job you did for the Machine Flesh challenge. You did your MF pretty fast, too. Are you sure you can't finish this up??

01 January 2005, 06:31 PM
