View Full Version : Accelerating an orbiting emitter- need help!

what i'm trying to achieve is a comet-type thing orbiting around a sphere where the comet starts off slow and speeds up until it's flying at super speed.

I have the emitter orbiting on a curve contraint motion path with particle wind already.
But Curve Contraint doesnt have many settings, so I'm a bit stuck.

My only other option at this stage is to do the speed up in after FX with a time remap. urgh

any suggestions?

i would create a null at the center of rotation, parent it to the emitter, and rotate that.
You could then easily modify the the null's rotation curve so that it changes slowly at first and quickly near the end.

that should work pretty damn well

didnt even cross my cabin-fevered mind.
