Well good Gents, and Ladies, I have a few questions for you.
How do I Edit an emmitor. (im just not getting ithttp://cgtalk.com/images/icons/icon11.gif)
How do I link a model (ejected brass) so an emmiter (On the guns ejecting chamber)
How do I edit the text colour in the layout. (a friend being a wize*ss changed it somehow)
Ive got my "mussle flash" moddelled. Ive got the transperency flashign on an off in the timeline looking window. now how do i say "stop" at a certain frame?
oh ya, can someone point me to a good explosions tutorial for lightwave. Ive only been able to aquire dead links.

I dont know the answers to any of the questions except for the tutorials one!!!
Tutorials is something i do know, having only been "lightwaving" for a couple of months now.
There are hundreds of tuts on loads of different subjects on that site.
This explosion tut, caught my eye

1) (P)roperties? The book should do a good job. If you have a more specific question, maybe I can help.
2) Look into FX_Linker. It will link geometry to particles to do just what you need.
4) How are you flashing? an Expression? Repeat Keys?
5) not sure.

A probable reason why you have not recieved that many aswers is because some (not all) of your questions are too basic and too general.
2) If you mean you want the emitter to always be situated at the end of the guns barrel, then simple parenting will do. While on frame 0, parent the emitter (in motion options, schematic view or scene editor) to the gun and position/rotate it as you like. Now when you transform (move/rotate etc) the gun, the emitter will move with it.

Evenflcw: If there so basic they should be easy to answer :D as for too vage.. oops :shrug:
Zuzzabuzz:i figured out how to edit the emmitor from the schematics window. also i dont have the book as im on a ripped copy. (before you bear your fangs, i have a real copy but its at home (im at university))
as for the flash, its just a polygon that ive scaled from 1% to 100% and back to 1%. and then when i want the gun to fire a long burst a just .... err i dunno how to explain it. its a timeline window and theres a graph... horizontal frames, vertical is percent. then i set the left to stay at zero and on the right as the frames go on its continuing my pattern. the problem is i dont know how to make the pattern Stop.
now the emmitor ive got it parented to the gun and everything. what im trying to do with it is have it sprew out shell casings when ive got my flash siezuring at the end of the gun.
ive modelled a low poly shell casing that will work for the animation.
