Latest Update: Final Image: The Ending (

Hi well finally I added some human models and some little fire there, after thinking if I should add more elements like ships or etc I decided to keep it like this I think it express wut I want to and the picture is diferent from all entries to keep originality, I also added some light rays. I hope u like it and hope to have good luck :)

good luck to u too buddies

10 October 2004, 09:20 PM
well, now I have an idea. I call it the Earth Museum. In a far far away future the human race wont live in the earth, because of awesome meteors and the age of the sun. So all cities will remain as ghost cities, covered by sand because of meteors, beaches, palm trees between ruins of big cities like new york, the moon half destroyed with a ring like saturn, and of course a lot of tourist in ships visiting the earth, taking a tour over the biggest museum oh human history.

Hope u like the idea, I'll post the sketch later today :)

10 October 2004, 09:32 PM
I like it's different from all i 've heard up to now...the difficult
(which i think u can do it ) is that u have to make a lot of half-ruins....i like it's most challenging :)

show us some thoughts Bernardo.

10 October 2004, 03:48 AM
hi, my evil clon!
i really want to see this, with that particular style of yours! i like the idea, all the destrucion and everything can be really cool! and very dramatic, is like seeing what happened after all the battles of everyone!

good luck!!

10 October 2004, 11:26 AM
Hey Bernardo!

Good to see you competing again!
Best of luck.

10 October 2004, 09:11 AM
The concept sounds very interesting. Is it going to be people looking through objects through velvet type ropes in space suits or like tourists in hawaiian shirts with cameras lol. Sounds good either way, good luck too you!

10 October 2004, 09:46 AM
Good luck! I was carefully wathing your work the last time, I'll be doing so again ;) Good luck!!!

10 October 2004, 04:37 PM
thanks pals I'll do my best :) , I'll try to post the concept later, sorry for the delay but the damn school doesnt give me time, its nice to see everyone here again, lets rock the space:buttrock: haha

10 October 2004, 03:57 PM (

well here's the first concept, not really clear but I am figuring out the idea, Im thinking in another perspective also. but wut do u think about this one :S

10 October 2004, 04:15 PM
Me gusta el sketch Bernardo , quizas debamos esperar un poco mas a la otra perspectiva que muestres y asi compararlas.

No lo tengo muy claro aun , pero vas a agregar mas naves a tu escena ?

10 October 2004, 07:51 PM
I see you've done your first scetch! It's looking pretty well! Keep it up!

11 November 2004, 06:14 PM (

here's a wip of the final perspective I decided to use, I just will add some stuff but this is the base, hope u like it :D. The topic is the same, the planetary human history museum when all the humans no longer live in the earth because now earth is a museum. After all the disasters bla bla.

there are civilizations in craters also in the destroyed moon and I'll add more ships I guess, also the weird white stuff down there is a train that moves up the water like a snake :D

11 November 2004, 12:00 PM
I like the idea of putting the water element in such scale in your concept, i think it will give u great potential for extreme shading and pleasing look...Can't wait to see how the water train will look :bounce:

Good start Bernardo..:arteest:

11 November 2004, 12:10 PM
hey! great idea and good sketch! , maybe you can mixed the camera on the first one with last one.Only a suggestion! good luck!

11 November 2004, 12:13 PM
Bernardo......................nice concept, and the idea is a interesting one.I like the plan and your current idea has a touch of a whimsical look and feel, always a nice extra................:arteest:

11 November 2004, 03:15 PM
hi, thanx for your comments :)

Dimitris: thanks pal, I love sea water haha but I think it will be a real challenge to have a nice result in 3d, thats why I wanted it to be large scale so I'll have to learn more hahaha.

Luciano: well I think it would be nice but I guess the more adecuated angle is this one because I would be able to put more detail that in a more elevated point of view like the 1st one.

virtuoso: thanks pal ,I hope to get a nice 3d result for everyone here

11 November 2004, 03:18 PM (

well, here's the final concept I hope haha, I added some few futuristic details and more lighting/shadows. also I used painter 9 to have a better look

11 November 2004, 03:25 PM
Go for it..and u can always add more stuff in the way ...have fun:bounce:

11 November 2004, 04:01 PM
hey, clon! well, as i told you, this is very nice (it should be in the 2d section hehe) i hope that you have a fun time modelling all this, and in the final rendering i think you must play more with the lighting, you know, to have more contrast, i feel that this will be some sort of "relaxing" enviroment, hope you can capture that feeling, well, good luck, and i really want to see some polygons soon!

good luck!!

11 November 2004, 08:55 PM
the concept is very refreshing, but i'm more interested on the 3d side of it. good luck amigo:thumbsup:

11 November 2004, 01:05 AM (

well since I dont have a sea simulator or something like that, I had to create the shader for the sea water, the geometry I'll model it in zbrush. The shader is made with the glass shader of final shaders (final render), adjusting some smooth bump and absorbtion

11 November 2004, 08:22 PM
interesting test you can integrate it to the scene. waiting for your update.

11 November 2004, 02:56 AM
thanks uwil , sorry for no posting so often but school is killing me, fortunately I'll finish the course in a few weeks so I'll be able to work in this full time

12 December 2004, 07:20 AM (

Hi, maybe Im a bit late but finally I have "free" time , I'll try to hurry to unless finish before the date I'll do my best. Here's the future moon I Hope u like it. Its made with 3dsMax 7, final render, Zbrush, Corel painter and the textures are from the Celestia Motherholde

12 December 2004, 11:29 PM (

I've just finished the terrain, its kinda complex and slow to render because it has a dirt shader. Anyway I'll have to bake it.

12 December 2004, 11:34 PM (

oke now i put the sea, I'll detail the model of the sea but this is just a box, I also put some basic boxes in the places of some buildings to test the lighting. Greetings

12 December 2004, 12:10 AM
Sea shader works great i think friend.....i am happy to see u are around... :bounce:

I hope for u and your family ..happy new year! :bounce:

12 December 2004, 01:36 AM
Thanks Dimitris, Happy New Year for everyone !! partyy!! ahaha:bounce: :buttrock:

12 December 2004, 01:51 AM
Partyyyyyy! :bounce: :argh:    :argh: ..weeeeeee

12 December 2004, 07:29 AM (

Now I've baked the base texture of the terrain with tbaker from final render to only bake the texture chanel without shadows and GI, Now lets work on the hard stuff :)

12 December 2004, 12:32 PM
Exellent terrain model and great sea shader
I`m looking forward to see more :bounce:

12 December 2004, 09:01 PM (

Im modeling the buildings and the stones from the beach. its getting kinda hard tought haha but lets keep on working

thanks nomad

01 January 2005, 03:42 AM

01 January 2005, 05:06 PM
thanks uwil Im having a hard time with a lot of things I have to do but I'll do my best to make some competence here :buttrock:

01 January 2005, 01:31 AM (

here's another update, Im currently finishing the scenery models the problem will be, I guess, the plants haha , lets see wut I can do I hope u like it

01 January 2005, 05:38 AM (

oke now this will be the "last" render of the scene, from now I shall start comosition stuff and modeling some characters to add in first plane

01 January 2005, 04:07 AM
Que onda clon!

ahi te van unas criticas, espero no me odies

suerte y a seguirle dando!!!

01 January 2005, 04:27 AM

01 January 2005, 01:40 AM (

by now Im working in composition, adding elements like plants and details to the water, Fog , sand and some lighting effects.

01 January 2005, 06:59 AM
Bernardo! ...those wave endings with the white as they hit the beach rocks...Rocks! hahaha ....Very nice ..can't tell now if it's in 3d or compositing but it's awesome ! :)

01 January 2005, 03:45 PM
haha thanks Dimitris they're all handpainted with my super tablet 4x3 ahahaha, I'll keep on working, I hope to end before the limit date. Thanks dude your entry is awesome:thumbsup:

01 January 2005, 08:57 PM
I like the image itself, but I feel it needs something more to lend itself to the Space Opera theme. The water looks really sharp, and the lighting works well.

01 January 2005, 02:34 AM (

Here\'s the model of 1 alien, there will be 2 in the scene and one human. I have to hurry haha , its made in max7 and zbrush2

01 January 2005, 02:39 AM (

Here's the final look of the enviroment, I added some details with photoshop

01 January 2005, 01:23 PM
Going Smooth as always....i wonder where exactly the aliens will be hurry ..3 days....:bounce:

01 January 2005, 01:52 PM
Environment is very nice, not much to crit there.

01 January 2005, 04:47 PM (

Now I finished the aliens, as u see there's a banner that says homo sapiens. its because I decided to put another point of view, there will be a point where human beings will almost cause its own extintion, till being in extintion borders. Aliens come to earth and make a kind of Museum and Zoo to preserve the specie. Hope u like it

01 January 2005, 05:44 PM
Hi, i like the concept of your project, that originaly, and the realization is very great good work, i wait the final image

01 January 2005, 10:57 PM
Very intersting concept. I like what you have done here. Keep it up. You are almost there.

01 January 2005, 11:20 PM
I love the idea and the picture! very nice work man. The aliens look great, but theres seems to be some problems with the composite somehow. as if they dont blend completely yet.

keep it up!

01 January 2005, 04:23 AM (

:shrug:its fun to die anyway . ahaha......... virtually of course hahah :scream:

01 January 2005, 01:06 AM
Hey Carlos,

I like the idea of your image and the image itself is very well done. Great job:thumbsup: and good luck.

01 January 2005, 05:01 PM
Well done clon! its a really good image, but it`s a really sad final for our loved specie, i hope you are not right with your "optimistic" vision of the future, anyways its a very original view of the theme for this challenge. the technical side of the image is awesome, the ambient the trees, and specially the water are the best points in the image, my only observation may be that, i dont really think that the language of the aliens is english, it could be better if you put some weird signs and under that the homo-sapiens thing.. yes i am being a "little" picky, but sience fiction is sience fiction , and you have to think everything. =)

well good luck, and congratulations for this great image!
da orgullo que seas mi clon!!

01 January 2005, 05:09 PM
Wonderful image and an even better concept! Really good work - congrats and good luck

01 January 2005, 07:32 PM
just wanted to let you know that I voted for your image

01 January 2005, 08:47 PM
thanks pal!, thats refreshing haha I hope to have good luck in this challenge  :)

01 January 2005, 09:04 PM
