I have a few ideas floating around for this challenge, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Hopefully, I'll have enough time/interest to finish this one.
I thought it could be kind of interesting to depict a creation myth of an alien race. I'm going to create a few sketches in that vein and see where they go.
Good luck everyone!

How is it going?
Are you thinking about a comic approach (the little bugger does look a bit goofy).
Good luck with the entry!

Hi Alice! Thanks for the reply. I wasn't really going for a comic approach, though I could see how my sketch could look kind of goofy :D I think I'm going to take a few days to sketch and brainstorm the idea for some other approaches before I settle on this image. :cheers

I think it's the big round eyes that give it that goofy look. If you narrowed or shrunk them, it would change that.

Hi there. Well, i like the tentacles creature, but maybe you can improve some cool nasty stuffs to it to look more scarier.
Good luck, quoting you, i'm also in the brainstorm and sketching stage.
I'll keep my eyes on your thread.

Rachel, I noticed that you're not submitting your images through CGNetwork's Challenge pages. Is there a problem with the submission page still? All of your WIPs images need to be hosted on CGNetworks for judging. I don't think the judges will be reviewing all of the threads on CGTalk to see your progress.
Submit all images here (http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/grandspaceopera/submit_entry.php)
Aside from that ... I like your idea and I can't wait to see what it develops into.

whats the creation myth about? it seems like theres a crowd watching it happen in some of your sketches. So wouldnt that make it a fact? Im probably wrong. Im just curious as to how it is a myth, but aside from that, i like the idea. Kinda wished i thought of it. Going a bit goofy might give you an edge, seeing as to how everyone here is going for realism, you'll stand out. Just a thought. Good luck
