I like the idea of having something controlling the planets, but I'm not sure what these guys in the foreground have to do with it. Are they controlling the planets? Fighting against the people who control the planets? Maybe you could do something to show two opposing forces?

Ya I've considered that. What I plan on is: to the left of the Viewing Bay will have a ship and a couple of others below that (near the view of the closest planet) they will be jointly attacking a different type ship. I should be made clear by additions to the outer portions of the Viewing Bay that they share same ship type of the ships doing the attacking of that one ship.
Further there will be a viewing monitor on the rigt wall of the Viewing Bay showing a closeup of the 'Enemies' Mother ship being hit by the beam being generated by the planets.
Also the attack I just mentioned on the single ship will also display the same technology via. the ships will be shooting at themselves (as collectors) and one ship will concintrate the beam at the Enemy.
I've started desigining the ships and a few other things and will post in a day or two. :)

I think you could add a lot more drama to this scene by pushing your camera angle to a greater extreme. An up shot with one character in the foreground and the other in the background would help give a better sense of depth to your image.

This is what I'm thinking for the Aliens in the Viewing Bay. Their bodys will be clothed so not much will go into their bodys.

I agree with the camera angle comment, maybe try a 3/4 view with a nice shot of that wall moniter. Right now I guess I don't really know what your focal point is, the interior elements, or the exterior elements. If you want both, maybe try using some of the architectural interior lines to your advantage and use them to frame/lead the eye around your piece. Cheers and best of luck.

Maybe my hopes are high but I wanted an image with enough detail that your eyes could wander around the image and see a few different things. Colorization will have to be just right to get that...We'll see how it goes.
