It's a VERY long speech, but very informative at the same time. The most juicy bits come out when he is talking about the convergance of 3d games technology and cinematic rendering technology.

Here is a quote (about 40 minutes in):

oh, sorry :) forgot to mention that John Carmack is the guy who coded the original wolfenstein, classic doom 1/2, quake 1/2/3 engines, and doom 3 engine.

woah! you're absolutely right... I was falling asleep until I started hearing him talk about render passes and the ability to simulate radiosity with 500 pass renderings in realtime!

Oh: and pay close attention to what he say's about "REAL WORK" and rendering and his refferences to the old SuperComputers...

Isn't not knowing who John Carmack is , like not knowing who Bill Gates or Steve Jobs ?? Grey you do work in Graphics right .. LOL :shame:

I bought "The Ultimate Doom" long ago. It came with a poster and John Carmack's autograph is on it (printed of course ,along with the rest of the team's autographs)!
I must either sell it or hang it up against the wall again.
