Hey, I don't normally get excited for car renders, but I love the concept.

What even gets me going more is the detail of the ground.. Stunning.

Great job man. Well done.

Schyssta grejer!

I LOVE the rain drops! They add a bit of noise/chaos to the otherwise very smooth/clean shape of the car. Very nice rendering! The lighting is very realistic!

I think maybe the choice of camera angle is a little odd - I'd place it a bit higher. It feels like the view is from the eyes of a person who is sitting on the ground. Maybe tilt the camera upwards a bit, placing the car more of in the middle of the picture? Also, the parts of the car closest to the camera (in both pictures) I find a bit too dark - I can't see the details :( in my opinion it would be better to let the sunshine hit the parts of the car that are facing the camera ...

Anyway, these are my direct impressions... you might want to ignore them ;) Really nice work!!

DAAaaamn.. that's one hot car... I love the environment you put it in and the reflection of the car in the puddles of water, it looks like you even put little beads of water on the car.. superb!!

I agree with the others, amazing work, very beautiful.

And the asphalt is so real and nice with the water, could you give a couple of details on the asphalt, it looks really nice with the wet glossiness look you put up there.

Very good man!!

Please open one door, so we car see the interiors. Very realistic render... It´s only me or the back view is a bit blured? (I mean the car)

10 October 2004, 10:40 AM
Grade A rendering - the use of the water gives it a boost over the usul renderings of vehicles. Def. front page material!

Superb quality render, the water really adds to the realism!

The asphalt part is quite a beautiful work. This looks to me like a nice composite map with finely adjusted bumps and masking for the water. Very nice!

Grid,
Very impressive and inovative design, nice concept! The render is something else; simply
fantastic! Like others, how about a little "how to" info on the water puddles? Congratulations
on a job well done!

In my first post i wrote " the ground is made with vray displace"

So if you have vray it´s not that hard to make at all :)

Awsome modeling but to tell the truth i'm more interested in the gound, wet pavement then the car.

the front doesnt look like its very aerodynamic for a racecar, but the lighting and modeling is awsome.

Hey Grid.

Whoaaa, nice car dude.

The only crit I can see, is that the frames in the front (Supporting the grills), looks a bit like plastic, try to make em' chrome (If you do, the front will almost look like the new Audi thoug  )The same thing goes for the wheels try puttin' some chrome on it.

Keep up the good work -
Karsten Sørensen

Very Nice! In addition to the car looking good, excellent follow through with the background environment, nice touch with the wet ground.

Karsten: i do not want totaly crome parts on this car, it´s not supposed to
be a blingbling crapy car ;)

traptinmyself113: if you would put a, lets say DTM racingcar beside this one,
you will see that the front on my car is lower than the DTMcar,
so i think it would work to race with this one also :)

Only thing I can notice is that the rims look a little... Pale... Or something. They just seem a little off.

Karsten Sørensen
11 November 2004, 07:27 PM
Well, you don't have to make em' all chrome, just a bit more shiny then, plz? :wavey:

Really nice, like the overal shape, curious to see what the driver's view would be from a forward visibility standpoint. The virtual ground efx color (red) and redwall tires work really well.
The render is beautiful.

I like the hyperpaint look. Not quite a painting, not quite a 3D rendering. The ground looks amazing, with the puddles and all. So what is that, a Volvo? :)

11 November 2004, 03:53 AM
...and the winner is Grid with his high profile low profiles.

Totally stunning job. What method did you use for the wet ground?

mickman
11 November 2004, 11:57 PM
Well I guess I don't need to give praise as all those before have already done so...
A bit of feedback would be good, eg. render time, modelling style & environment setup.

Love the super low profile tires & the ground. How many concept cars have you modelled??

GRID
11 November 2004, 12:04 PM
rendertime was about 1hour, (2h on the one with DOF) on a 3,2 ghz
ground is made with vray displace, so i guess it´s using a few 100k polys for the asfalt.
I´ve done a few conceptcars now, and some real ones to.

Good materials, good light, very good idea to use a wet floor and rain drop on the car. :applause:

Fantastic design, I love the geometry of the car and the possibility of this car ever being developed seems believable. The render's great too, it has a very 80's marker-feel to it. Great piece of work well -done!
