hi just a quick questions. when i ever i use extrude the extruded poly'sd are always flipped the wrong way, even if i just create a box and extrude a face the nex faces all face inwards. i've tried on y laptop and my desktop with same problems. any ideas? is it something i do wrong?

If the base poly is facing the wrong way, the extruded sides wil be flipped. Sorry, can't remember right off the top of my head which direction the base poly normal should face. Select the extruded polys and hit 'f' to flip the normals. This'll take care of it.

You have to extrude away from the normal - it's only natural. If you extrude in the same direction as the normal, you are extruding the "invisible" side of the polygon...

Yes, but you can use Smooth Shift (or Super Shift) instead.
