View Full Version : Rotating a finished Animation (In Maya)

10 October 2004, 06:08 AM

After completing a walk cycle, and a couple other animations, I have discovered that I need to have the up axis be y rather z (the anims were created with z as the up axis).

This is causing severe problems when I export to our game engine, so I'm hoping that someone knows a trick to rotating a finished animation in Maya 5.0 (it's apparently not as easy as it sounds, as I have had no luck).

My last resort is re-doing the anims, so any help would be appreciated.

I don't know anything about importing an animation in a game engine, but you can try to group the totality of your character and rotate your group. If the body taking a "double transformation" try to disable 'inherits tranform' in the attribute editor of the body.

good luck !
