Anyway I thought I would share a cheerful little anecdote, and it's completely about Painter so it does belong in this forum.
I was in Epilogue chat the other day. I'm making a new painting, using Painter, but of coursehttp://cgtalk.com/images/smilies/smile.gif. I showed my sketch to someone who doesn't use painter, he uses a mouse and mostly does 3D stuff, so Painter would probably be lost on him untill he gets a tablet anyway. Okay that was beside the point.
Here's the point. He thought it was graphite, real graphite, that I scanned into the computer, because of the smudges and stuff. http://cgtalk.com/images/smilies/smile.gif You know, how real media can have just as many artifacts as digital, we just call them smudges and smears.
I explained to him that it's Painter, and that the program does a really good job of simulating different mediums, like that your brush strokes show up with paint, and so on. Well now he's getting really interrested, and suggested someone should add to the app so that when you rub your hand across the tablet you get graphire or paint smeared onto it, thus improving upon the feeling of working with real media, sillyhttp://cgtalk.com/images/smilies/smile.gif yep I like the boy, he's a hoot!http://cgtalk.com/images/smilies/grin.gif
That is all.
