View Full Version : Problems with OBJ Import/Export

Just some thoughts on the current state of the OBJ Import/Export in Modo. Probably not a big deal for most people, but for me I have to currently take anything back into LW to Export/Import.


1.) The image shows what happens to UVs on import. Modo pretty much destroys them.

2.) The UVs are also broken up into layers via their OBJ group designations, which serves no purpose, and really shouldn’t be happening. Although this wouldn’t be that much of a problem (just copy and paste them back into a single map) if Modo didn’t completely destroy them.


1.) No way to export selections only; Modo exports everything no matter which layers are on\off, or what parts of the model are hidden\visible. Examples include: No way to export only the selected layer. No way to export only the visible selection.
2.) Kinda involves the above, but there also seems to be no way to export a Morph. Choosing export while a morph map is active just exports the base object, not the Morph.
