Not 100% on this issue. Although Foundation isnt node locked with a dongle, I dont think that is giving you a license to install it on several different seats, although you could do so. I think Avid are trusting you to install it only on a single machine.

Interesting to find out though if anyone has the definative answer.

As long as u dont use it on 2 machines at the same time i dont see any problem with that...

According to the license agreement you are not allowed to install foundation on more than one computer.

Yep, just read that.

Well thats pretty gay. It doesn't have some sort of portible license utility like 3dsmax does?

I should clarify if my post is somewhat unclear, what it says is you can install foundation
on as many computers as you want but only on one computer at a time.

So to install on another computer you have to uninstall from the other.

Ok, So everyweek i have to uninstall it from my PC and reinstall it on my laptop, then on weekends reinstall it on my PC and uninstall it from my Laptop...ZzZzZZzZzZzzzz..

I wonder how many of us will do it ;)

I think it is not so good to have a license agreement saying like this.

Softimage could have just let the license owner install it atleast on two computers ,as many people want to work with it on their laptops and desktops.

But what is there to do? This is the contract I have made with avid/softimage and therefore
I will obey it

At the end of the day, how many seats do you want for $495. I'm more than happy to have it only on one machine at this price. We shouldnt get too absobed with this issue, as if people start taking the micky with Foundation, the price will go up again - you can buy 4 seats of F. 4.0 for the same it would have cost for one 2 months ago!
