Has anyone got any hints or tips for creating organic skin alphas for creatures, for use with Zbrush’s Projection Master?

Alpha size?
Contrast of the texture?
Lightness of the texture?
How many per character?
How detailed?
Will a High Pass texture(with some tweaks) ripped from a Google search do?
