- I really like what you've done here.
- You've got quite an imagination.
- I really likd the building, although the water seems a little too calm.
- I also think that the background looks a little flat.
- But over all, the mood of the image is great!

Great architecture and lighting. The caption says "inspir[at]ed by Hickman" - do you mean Tracy Hickman? If so, which of his books inspired you to create the image?

I agree with EdHarriss about the water and the background, but the overall is really really good.

Great work... don't really agree with what the others say on the water bit but that's a small issue. I did however notice that the cliff on the right looks like it came straight out of a traditional chinese landscape painting

looks awesome, I love the modeling and the shading/lighting, brilliant. Although, the only thing kinda bugging me is that it looks too lite. I dont see much weight in the image. Im not sure why, but it has the look that you photographed a miniture. This is just a little crit, but over all very nice work. A+

I think the "flatness" others mentioned and the overall feel may have been inspired by Japanese wood block prints? It seems that way anyhow. I'd keep the water still. The fog and water give an overall calm which makes the swooping crane a strong element.

Nice work.

I love it man very slick. I think the water is fine except the afew ripples comming off the boat would add alot. Love the color the design everything awsome work man.

I agree with akdigital3d that it looks flat, especially with the lighting, but that it does have that feel of a wood-print...so it's a good thing. It works with the style in this case.
The sky is really beautiful in my opinion.

nice composition.

I have a couple of questions for you too.

How you did the tree. Is it an actual geometry model?
How about the backgroud? did you put into grids and place them in different layers of distance?

My main crit is that the lighting makes it look like it's a miniature, about seven feet wide, and lit by an floodlight indoors.

Other than that, it looks great, nice details.

Great architecture and lighting. The caption says "inspir[at]ed by Hickman" - do you mean Tracy Hickman? If so, which of his books inspired you to create the image?
He means Stephen Hickman. This is a 3d version of one of Stephen Hickman's paintings, you can see the original here: Stephen Hickman (http://www.stephenhickman.com/pharazar.html)

It probably would have been a good idea for Astil1 to be clearer that the concept, style, and color are all from Hickman's painting.

So much going on with loads of eye-candy. A total feast of fantasy. It hangs together well as a piece too. Great balance, and the modelling is superb. Full marks from me.
