Well, during the first challenge, I only saw your work... For this second challenge, I will put my work too.
I m a beginner in 3D so all your advices can help me.

This is my project :

It' s inspired from the Gunnm's universe...

And this is the beginning of the modeling...

I wait for your advices and suggestions...

And I hope to finish this work, héhé :D

I m a big fan of motorball, héhé...
It's one of the most interesting virtual sports. :D

But I will make him more strap... because a nuclear explosion makes some change ;)

its the Jia-Lai player from hell!!

Amazing concept..I like it a lot...

Your 2D sketch is also quite looks like it was done with a toon shader...neat lines and everything.

NowInc : For the 2D sketch, it was done with Toshop and a wacom tablet... it's juste a drawing in five minutes,..., just to see ;)

Sorry guys but i m out of ram memory :( So, you won' t have upgrades before monday...

I hope you will give me ideas for the modeling of the bottom of my bot because i don't like my project of feet!!!

Well, I found an update on a zip so I can send you this picture :

But I don't feel anything with those feet... PLZ, Help me...
I need some advices and suggestions to make the bottom better...

He looks very strap because he has a heavy armoury...

I wait your suggestions for the feet... and the other parts ;)

you d have to put a metal plack on your feet as you make it in front of your shoulders :D just an subjection

actually, it looks like the 2d sketch was traced from your latest render.

Sherban : When I work, I put my 2D sketch in the viewport and put it behind the perspective view to have the good proportion... This is why my rendering has the same angle and the same proportions... :)

v3d : I will make some tests ;)

Well, this is the update...

For the feet, it's a mix of the Quake/Gunman/NikeAirMax Styles...
I hope it will sound good.
And, there is the texturing too.

Now, i m waiting your comments to arrange my character. And I will probably begin a landscape to put my bot...

I wait all of your advices...

Well, this is an idea for the landscape... I'm not applying the landscape's callenge rules because it's not my purpose to do the two challenges, i just want to make a little background for my character...

What do you think about this idea?

Well, my bot looks like a "beastmonster" with the arms like that so i change it to make the duckdance, lol :p

Well, it' s just to have some critics and suggestions about my scene. In fact, it is only my second character (as I told you, i m a beginner) and it' s the first tima i m playing with the lights prameters. So, all of your help about modelling, lights and environment are welcome...

Do you have some ideas for the scene?

Well, i added the motorball :D

Lot of peaople I know told me it looks very like a motorball player of Gunm's universe.

So, i ve made the modeling of the ball and this is the update :

Well, i have make a track which is a mix of the Gunm/Formal 1 universes ;)

As you can see, i have modelised the bottom of the track too.
I wanted advices for the lights to make a good environment. Do you have some details to ad?
Do you prefer the texturised version or the nontexturized one?

I don't know if I will make more post because i m having to have lot of work for school in the beginning march!

Fantastic!! i really love your character. You could do so many great things with it. How about some channel lights or running lights on or near the track and the walls. A very high tech arena would compliment your model; maybe a huge video screen in the background with an alternative view of your character. I'm impressed and look forward to the day when I can create something that good. Thanks for the inspiration!

Well, this is just a little update, a test for the texturing.

For environment I would see well an enlightened track of small lights and some panels.
Perhaps create skates and not shoes...the position search for speed in skate can give better than the race! I ll incline the their bust forwards.
I'd like to create some sparks... But how can I make this??? Someone can help me?

Pour l' environnement, je verrais bien une piste éclairée par de petites lampes et quelques panneaux indicateurs.
Peut-etre que je vais créer des patins au lieu des chaussures... La position de vitesse devrait mieux donner, aussi, j inclinerai leurs bustes vers l' avant.
J' aimerai créer des étincelles... Mais comment faire? Quelqu' un peut m' aider???

PS : Merci à toxy, AenariOn, Ogl et JeP pour leurs suggestions.

Yeah Cedric... poses are really better!

En français: Tu peux encore leur donner un posing plus poussé...Qui montre qu'ils ont de la vitesse...Incline les sur l'avant et donne leur des poses plus extreme...Regarde peut-etre des ohotos de patineur en pleine vitesse....En attendant,ils m'ont l'air encore un peu trop "Relax"! :D
Joues aussi sur le plan de ta camera et la focale...Ajoute du blur!!!


Mais tes posing sont vraiement Beaucoup Beaucoup mieux!
Bravo! ;)

Cédric! very good the now-render! I like very much the depth of field, but could you post a bigger render?! It's hard to see the details :(

It's a really better pose!
And the blur give a lot of dynamic to the scene!

Encore un petit truc pour rendre ton image encore plus nickel...Pose des lumieres le long de la piste...Comme si elles eclairaient d'en haut,sur le bord exterieur de la piste,et que ça face une zone éclairée,une zone d'ombre,une zone éclairée,une zone d'ombre,...
Tu met le premier type dans la zone éclairé le deuxieme en retrait,menaçant...dans une zone d'ombre.
A toi de voir...

Rajoute peut-etre des trainée sur le sol(Texture),comme si ils rayaient la piste avec leur met des etincelles! :D :D :D

Pabbloz: I don't have enough RAM to make it better! I ve just tried to make one in 800x600 and in the middle of the rendering, my pc crashed :(
So, I will ask to a friend to make one with his computer for the final render, for the 6 ;)

But you can see this one : It's in fact the "now" rendering bigger thanks to Photoshop and my bot alone to see the details :D

Totitch: Thanks a lot guy :D Je vais faire ce que tu dis, héhé ;) les lumières, les trainées et les étincelles :) Ce sera pour bientôt :D

Yes! It's really nice!

But you loose the blue and red color you had before!
It was good!

But all you modification except that one are good!
Your picture is better and better!

Les marques dans le sol pouraient etre plus marquées mais bon...
Si t'arrive a faire un mix de tes deux dernieres images c'est parfait!
Allez quoi! encore un p'tit rendu! ;) :D :D

J' ai remis cette source lumineuse rouge mais je perds un peu dans la zone d ombre... Et j ai aussi augmenté les traits d' usure sur le sol

All : This is the mix between the two images :) I put a red color as Totitch and pascal Fodéré told me. But with this color, i' m losing a bit the enlightened zone-shade one...
I put more features of wear too.

I wanted to thank all of you who posted comments and send me pm because it's thanks to you that i m making this picture with those details :) When I saw my first post and this one, there is really a progress i think, so THANK YOU :D

something, you can maybe change is the level of Depth Of Field , is a little to strong at the right side, but the rest is quite good, I like the motion :).

i disagree with Totich about the sparks (probably 'etincelles' in french).. simply remove them.. wheels rolls on the ground. if you put sparks, IMO, you try to suggest that some metal rubs on the ground..

Beautifull picture...

For the sparks, there is maybe too much on the first character, but although he has got wheel, if it is in metal, with the weigh of their armor,i think it's normal it makes some sparks...

Very nice picture! Like the comic, too :)

I'm with Totitch, as far as the sparcs are concerned, they look a little bit unnatural.

The characters need a little bit motion blur to illustrate the speed, they're running at. A tiny little bit, not to damage the very beautiful FOV blur in this image.

Did you think of animating the scene?

TwoFlower-Totitch-bibi5000 : Thanks a lot :) Yes étincelles mean sparks, héhé :D Totitch answers your question. But first, i had the same opinion of TwoFlower. So i read carefully the tome 3 and 4 of gunnm and when they are rolling, we can see lots of sparks... So, i don't know what I have to do. Here's an update with a little less sparks on the first player. But i will perhaps remove the sparks on his right foot. But, by this way, the picture loses a lot of intensity. So i don't know ...
For the right foot, the bot is putting his foot on the ground so i think there are lot of sparks, no? ;)

Totitch : j' attends j' attends :)

bibi5000 : I m making some test on character's blur... perhaps in the last update :) No, I don't think to animate this scene. As I told lot of guys here, i' m a beginner, this are my first steps on modeling so i don't have the capacity to make animation for the moment! but, in the further, when i will be better, yes, i' d like to make an animation with that scene :D
