View Full Version : Mental Ray and Intersecting Light Fogs problem

09-15-2004, 02:23 PM

With MR, if two light fogs intersect they seem to cancel out. Obviously this is not what I want. How do I get around this?

Maya Software renderer does not have this problem but I'd like to avoid using it since this is a part of a pretty large animation and an extra ligh fog pass would mean a lot of extra work...

Here's the above example rendered with Maya Software:

I would suggest you to render using the mentalray volume scatter, here you can find more information

Hope it helps:thumbsup:

Wow... that's a long thread ;)

I'll take a look at it at some point. Thanks.

Anyway, I think I found some kind of solution using the parti_volume shader.
