View Full Version : How to make lights become color passed through?

I've seen all of those images showing things such as beams of light passing through a stained glass window. I've figured out how to produce something similar in two ways: through mapping the color of the image to the light or mapping the color of the image to the shadow. But both are really limited work-arounds.

Is there a way to make the color of the light CHANGE TO the color of whatever semi-transparent object that it passes through? Without having to map it to a specific color from the beginning?

The simplest, non faked way is to turn on raytracing

even with raytraced enabled, that effect is not possible (dont know why), ive been trying to do that effect, but nothing works:shrug:
There is a MR node called Mib _ color_spread, im trying to understand that node, i think that node is the key to achieve the effect:)
