Hi, first sketch from me, I know it ain't good, but it took quite long :(.
C&C welcome, I have to learn a lot and fast :)

EDIT: almost forgot, Photoshop 7.0, paper+pencil, 2 hours (or something :O, was trying to learn something from it:P )

08 August 2004, 07:16 PM
LOL, what a morbid it. Reminded me immediately of a show called "Dead like me". I think it runs on Showtime. One of the lead characters is an 18 year old girl who was killed by a falling toilet seat from a Mir rocket station (or something like that). I guess when your number is up, its up.
Opencanvas, wacom, photoshop 1:20

*NOTE* Any member of the group can upload in my gallery. Just let me know and I'll create a special section for us.

Here is today's little pic. 30 min to draw 1hr to color in Photoshop.

Dargon- I'd jump too if I was that out of shape. I guess tubby had enough. Great drawing. the background really adds a lot of motion.

Cyanid- very creepy, reminds me of the Violator a little.

Dargon: Good one :D

Supervileg- love the lighting and color choice.

08 August 2004, 09:02 PM
I started doing a sketch of Alex from "A Clockwork Orange (" hitting someone with his cane and accidentally deleted it. Grown angry, I took a BIG hard brush and drew the pose anew, and liked it even better... :)
Open Canvas 1.1, 40 min.

08 August 2004, 10:46 PM
DRUMWHORE!!! AAAHHHHHHHH!!! :buttrock:  :banghead: :applause:

08 August 2004, 12:03 AM
I think that's one of your best entries yet Drumwhore and considering the stuff you submit that's saying something.
Great stuff!!

08 August 2004, 12:29 AM
Awesome work guys, There are some really neat entries so far.

Heres mine.

Im not sure on the exact time but its probably like 2 hours.

Reference was used for the pose.

08 August 2004, 01:25 AM
Burner0185 can't log in right now and wanted this pic posted. Thanx.

08 August 2004, 03:16 AM
Taron that's wonderful! : ) You stole my idea, but... you pulled it off alot better than I could have. Keep up the good work, guys. I'm working on mine, but I'm not sure if i'll finish it tonight.

08 August 2004, 03:52 AM
HUH? ehh....I don't see it? You mean, you were thinking about making the same thing?
Hmmm...sorry about that. I was actually surprised that noone has done that one, yet. should still post yours, though...who cares if it's the same motive.

Thanx for the compliments however!

08 August 2004, 03:58 AM
Here's mine.
I call it "Death from A DOVE"
I was not really sure how to draw a dove plus I had no time to do an reference checking..or for that matter much time to do this at I just drew some cartoony bird things...from HELL.
Also that guy is supposed to be kind of like Death on vacation and he's using Doves to go out and do his dirty work.
Coral painter/30 minutes

08 August 2004, 04:04 AM
here's mine...

It took way too long. like .. 4hrs!

Was it worth it?

if someone could point me to where drumwhore gets his technique from (or where i can contact his muse...) lol

Crits are more than welcome (i need the feedback so it won't take so long the next time)

08 August 2004, 04:04 AM
Drumwhore OOOOOOOOOHHhH My God :) When will you great guys start giving step by step tutorials? I can always donate space to host it.

08 August 2004, 05:23 AM
Naked Under A Dragon Carrying A Boulder...

08 August 2004, 06:35 AM like 55mins - painter (edit: forgot to add 10 of which was playing in ps)

almost did something like your's Taron333, cept my bombs weren't anywhere near as cool looking. Rasdasa: all I can say in DAAAAMMN!

08 August 2004, 06:51 AM
Sorry if it's hard to see the paratroopers. PS7/Mouse/2.5 hours (though if you figure how much time I actually spent drawing instead of talking on AIM, it's much less O:) ).

Oh what I would give for a Wacom...

08 August 2004, 07:17 AM
Dargon: I'm liking it alot, man. Good sense of motion.

Crimsonstring: Pretty neat : ). I like the explosion and laser beam the most. (btw, try Free hosting and easy to use).

NileshXYZ: Hah, great idea =)

Cyanid: Cool. He looks huge.

Amida: I like his jacket... hehee for some reason it reminds me of a hoody. Good job.

Queensoul: What a way to die.. I like the girl's right (our left) eye.

csmallfield: Great, man. I like the teeth. Good idea.

meta_Nerd: Now that's just plain.... nasty. Very nice job though. Especially on the wound.

Supervlieg: Those guys are scary.... and I imagine there's plenty more where they came from. Good job as always.

r0mer0: Very nice. The arms are a bit hard to read, but that's okay. I like the simplicity.

Drumwhore: You never cease to inspire me. Great job. I love clouds... I wish I could do them like you and others do.

andrewley: Hehee, very clever. Good job. I like his face.

Goul: Now's thats one fried dude... neat job.

thebigxer: Wooo a moon! I like the moon. I don't think it was intentional, but you left a slight white outline around your robot. It gives it a cut out type look... I like it that way. Good job.

Burner0185: Nice perspective. That would certainly hurt anyone standing underneath...

mttjss: Wow that's bright. Simple silohuettes are a good thing.

Taron333: Yeah I meant I was thinking of that same idea. No biggie at all =). The one thing that catches my eye is the smoothness of their surfaces. It's great. The only thing that is weird about it is: my first thought is that they're not going 'down,' but to the side or up. Hmm. I love it - good job on the eyes of the forefront one, man : ).

majofo: That blood on the doves is just scaring me.

DMageXVII: Yeah the 4 hours were worth it. Very nice job. The only thing that bugs me is his right leg (our left). It's just in a weird position. I like the sword very much, and 'lofty' atmosphere.

Rasdasa: You're just a crazy person... that's awesome. You have such a gift for motion and perspective. It honestly was a bit hard to 'read' at first - I didn't get it; but after a couple second I did, and it's great.

Phade: Yeah sometimes it's hard to feel creative. I like yours though. The 'aura' thinger around him is cool.

08 August 2004, 08:31 AM
Photoshop, 1h

edit: some changes to make it clearer (i hope).
Any comments?

btw. great entries  ... love those bombs, taron
and dmageXVII: yes, it was ;)

08 August 2004, 08:35 AM
Thanks Andyman . . . I don't think it's hard to see the paratroopers in your's, just hard to take my eyes off those awesome clouds/ridges/reflections
and done with a MOUSE?!?! now that takes some patience. :applause:

08 August 2004, 08:51 AM
My best work yet, I can say that because this is my first sketch made using Photoshop
Still learning

PS7/mouse/approx.4 hours

Didn't really turn out how I wanted it to but I'm still satisfied.
P.S it's *supposed* to be a toy soldier and an ant under a magnifying glass

08 August 2004, 09:38 AM
Andrewley! Love your humor :D

08 August 2004, 10:07 AM
lol-cheers Alice :)

74 replies and over 19,000 views for sketch number one, we've lost a few good ones along the way.

08 August 2004, 12:26 PM
Phade - I really like that vapor trail what did you do to get that?

08 August 2004, 12:55 PM
Photoshop, about half an hour (?)

^^ Dead ^^

08 August 2004, 01:24 PM

08 August 2004, 01:42 PM

08 August 2004, 03:22 PM

Nice job!

I really like the colors especially the shades of orange.

08 August 2004, 06:29 PM
Thanx bigxer! Had to do some orange, for obvious reason. :D

08 August 2004, 07:01 PM
hello evryone this is my first post of the "daily sketch"
i know this is not so good but this is one of myt first pics ever
to all - great pictures, i loove them
1h photoshop :)

08 August 2004, 07:19 PM
Phade - I really like that vapor trail what did you do to get that?
The trail was a happy "mistake" while playing with photoshop - It's the flying thing duplicated, liquified, then layer set to color dodge.

09 September 2004, 09:56 PM
Ahhahaha, Andrewley, that's a marvellous idea! :D
Can't stop laughing now

09 September 2004, 10:43 PM

HOW DID I MISS THIS ONE!!! THAT'S BEAUTIFUL!!! :applause: :buttrock:

09 September 2004, 11:30 PM
...bomb appettite...

I like the colors and the sharp highlights on the bombs. Although the first impression I got was "Death from below". It's somehow looked like the bombs are "rising" from hell. Probably another angle would do the trick or I just have to look at it upside down ;)

09 September 2004, 01:24 AM
Nice angle Rasdasa!! Thats extreme
