View Full Version : Aqsis rendering competition

I found this while browsing the newsgroups:

It has come to my attention recently during discussion on this group and
elsewhere that many people are not aware of the status of the Aqsis
Renderer. I understand that the images in the gallery at the web site
are not exactly earth shattering, but I believe that this is mostly due
to my lack of any artistic ability. Aqsis itself has the majority of the
functionality required to produce quality images.

Therefore the people involved in the Aqsis project agreed it might be an
idea to encourage more artistic people to try Aqsis and see what it is
capable of. To this end I have started an image competition. Very
simple, no real rules, just send anything you have been able to produce
using Aqsis as a 3D renderer. Details are available on the web site

Potential entrants should be aware that this would be the first real
widespread use of Aqsis, and therefore there is likely to be problems.
However I will make it a priority to attend to any reported problems or
requests that would help during the competition. And will release
frequent updates should they be required.

There will be a small prize for the winner(s), as yet undecided (it will
be out of my pocket so don't expect too much :-).

Cheers, and good luck.

Paul Gregory
