Old and not so old images:
This character was originally made for Spiraloid forum's toon modeling session. The first thing I did was the concept drawings, then I started modelling the head and the body.. after the head was done and proportions roughed out, I left the modelling for a month or so, after the long break I modeled and textured the eye and finished modeling the body, made ears, fixed stuff. Now I need to texture the rest, give him some hair, make proper clothing, add details, rig, add morph targets, animate... so it's a lot of work and I also have another character (dog/fox hybrid) under progress. Both of them will appear on my short film, which will be the base of my demo reel.

the head is real nice, and the texturing is spot on, i would like to see the body live up to the head.

I haven't posted here at all since the board got revamped but I just couldn't let this go in the gutter because of the replies.. Or lack there of
I saw the head in-progress over at Lumental and i was really likin' it, especially considering it was your first subD/3d model? (I think.) The head turned out really cool, i was wondering if in the first picture that was actually rendered or is it a paintover? Can't decide, heh. I'm leaning towards paintover
When I first saw him, I abruptly imagine what he'd be like animated. One could imagine a great future for this guy :D
where's his club? ;)

Looks promising !
Isn't Spiraloid for Mirai ? Is it the software you use ? I've always been wondering about this software. If so, could you tell me about it?

Ephesus: Thanks, texturing is the phase I'm relying to.
and0r: This is my second model. My first 3d model is the "Dinosaur detective" (it's even more unfinshed than this :D), which can also be found at Lumental or at my homepage.
The head is painted in the first, The original textures are for Brazil renderer(timelimit exceeded) so it was faster to paint than convert the textures. And don't worry I'll do the club.
Facial Deluxe: There isn't any program limits at Spiraloid. (as far as I know) I use 3ds max, but I would love to try Mirai.. it looks lovely in screen caps!

Played a couple of hours in simcloth to create the hair and cloth, also refined the face and stomach:
