View Full Version : HDRI for MAC OSX

Hi Everybody-

I used HDR images all the time on my PC. Recently switched to a Mac and can't get OSX to recognize the .hdr extension. I tired using HDRShop to change the format of my file to a .pic and a plain old .tiff. Maya wouldn't recognize any of them. Any ideas?

If you are using Maya 6, then when you go to the IBL create box, open the file browse box and instead of using the default "image (all formats)" selection choice at the top - change it to Best Guess. The .hdr images will still look like they are greyed out, but you can actually choose them. Click on it and it should load.

I have an old machine so some larger HDR images take forever to load, if your machine is fairly new it shouldn't take too long.

Good Luck

It worked. Can't believe I missed the best guess box. Not use to looking for it above my files in my window!
