"Methane attack"- You might take away our freedom but you will never take away our gas!

20 minutes BASIC Microsoft PAINT! (that is my excuse for the lack of detail) they should burn that piece of software it sucks.. but then again it did served me well today..

- rOMERo - cute cat..
-Teig- welcome yeah peoples work here is great, and I must say your porcupine is very well done, his eyes are creepy, how did you make those needles.
-Iamintricate- awww soooo cute! :)

Love that mouse, iamintricate! :)

08 August 2004, 07:36 PM
Sagi_13 > Thanks for the welcome! I love your cow, made me laugh. :) I never really considered a humoristic approah.. nicely done.

I made the needles by making long swooshes with a low opacity paintbrush. Quite annoying work. :P

iamintricate > Sweet, nice idea. I quite like the empty eyes.

PS: any crits on... well, any aspects would be greatly appreciated (i'm all self taught, so i'm not sure about finer points and i'm sure i could further devellop my technique...)

Thanks in advance,

My entry here is very.

About 6 hours, PhotoShop, Wacom.

I'm new to the sketch forum and new at drawing, so say Hi to me: Hi!

08 August 2004, 08:34 PM
Thanks Nilk, though my sketch is actually a cheetah without spots (I don't have anywhere near as much patience to draw every single spot ;P) A panther's coat is actually black. I look forward to seeing your sketch too!

here is a sketch my friend made in MSPAINT, 10 minutes.

@Teig : AWESOME porcupine! he must have taken you a long time!!! My only crit is the eyes (could they somehow be made to stand out any more! They are really well made, but i completely missed his entire face the first time around)

08 August 2004, 08:51 PM
Wow, Erikoinen, nice sketch!!!

I especially like the look on the chicken's face :D
The guy's torso looks a bit too long, but otherwise, your sketch is really good!

BTW what font are you using down there? It looks really cool.

08 August 2004, 08:59 PM
Thanks, DragonMage.

The font seems to be called "blzee" in PhotoShop. It has probably a real name in the fonts-folder, but I have no clue what it is from the thousand of them :)

I think I downloaded it from (, there are some quite nice fonts.

This is what will meet me if I leave the house without putting a lock on my fridge.
They will eat my pizza, drink my beer and watch discoverychannel all day.
It will be some sort of revenge cause i like my beer.

08 August 2004, 03:59 AM
i saw a couple done in MS Paint and i was inspired to see how painting works in Paint! it sucked as i guessed, but here's my piece for today. took a little over an hour which is almost embarassing for this. reference used loosely. here it is!

08 August 2004, 04:01 AM
@ Erikoinen Thanks for the font!

@ Taron, Supervlieg : Funny and well drawn, as usual

@ J_Grieve : *Shudders at the pun* <- That means it was a good one: the bigger the groan, the better the pun.
@ Buzzz3d : That bear looks like the "Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual" Dire bear entry (that's a sweet compliment, because those artists rock!)
@ Drumwhore : Great lighting!

@ Rasdasa : Wow, the dog is really well drawn - especially the paws!!! *tips finger*

@ Alice : I thought you took your dry humour elsewhere; i'm glad your sketches are still around though, because i'm a big fan of your work :D (especially that monday :D -- or was it a horny gorl)

@ Johdeewee : WOW! Incredible use of MSPaint! I'm amazed!!!

08 August 2004, 06:08 AM

To Everyone: I am impressed!

Taron told me about this board and Open Canvas two days ago and I just thought "Let's join this, this seems like fun", and now I admire great artistry seemingly from nowhere.

Thank You all.

Well I typed nice replies to everyone twice, but each time it was in vain because of a power failure. :banghead:

Since I no longer feel like typing it all over again, I'll do the short version:
Thanks everyone and great work!

08 August 2004, 09:35 AM
I don't know how animals "fight back" in this image but I just made it for fun. Had the inspiration from my earlier "Animals fight back" -image.

PhotoShop, about 3 hours, Wacom.

Bigger version:

EDIT: Added the "know" -word to the first sentence of this post.

Teig: Very cool porcupine, keep posting.
iamintricate: Very funny. Animals are people too, LOL
sagi_13: Methane huh? LOL
DMageXVII: I like the depth of field effect, like your friends sketch too.
Cyanid: Turtles on a rampage, cool idea
Erikoinen: Damn, that's an evil chicken. (twice)
Taron333: Very funny and nice brushstrokes.
Supervlieg: Powerfailure huh? Very cool and clean (as always)
J_Grieve: LOL
MustardWash: I like that his tongue is sticking out, good work.
Drumwhore: Always a pleasure to see your entry. Nice layout too.
