 extra points for realism. i like the flash tex. you drew that?
08 August 2004, 10:36 AM
i tried mapping the flash and displacing it but in the end i modelled it even the grooves on the outer glass, i think this looks better than before.
08 August 2004, 05:07 PM
the realism is great, love the textures
08 August 2004, 05:20 PM
Really nice work _dd , i started doin a camera a while back and gave when i got to textureing it. Your materials look really good. how did u make the shiny metal around the lens piece?

08 August 2004, 07:33 PM
 omg that is awesome! perfect modelling, lighting and texturing! great work :applause:
08 August 2004, 07:46 PM
the metal around the lens is poly modelled and more to the point its a metal texture/shader with a spectral effect to give it the cd effect
with the text just dumped on top

Flawless Dave strikes again :) Its truly inspiring this piece, clean and perfect, every aspect of it! Cheers!
08 August 2004, 07:53 PM
spot on as usuall m8. a couple of minor points i could point out, but i wont. i just be picking holes for the sake of it
(just cos i got exactly the same camera here infront of me. now who was the damn foo that reckomended it to me? ;) )
08 August 2004, 08:44 PM
this is just great!
have you made a making of.. a WIP or something like that, would love to see your progress
08 August 2004, 09:04 PM
show them ur desk montage m8, that rocks :)
08 August 2004, 09:12 PM
Good modeling and render, but one thing wrong for me, the metal texture it,s too plastic, give more reflexion to get better result.
Congrats, good work.
08 August 2004, 08:02 AM
thanks guys for the nice replies
the metal is matt really not reflective, it has a small amount of noise on it.
but there is something about the metal. it changes looks every time i change the lights
but overall im happy with this look and feel, i can live with it.
strat the montage is on my site ; www.max3d.org
thanks again guys

damn fine model and render that is DD, top work.
my only suggestion would be to brighten the subject a little more, its a tad dark. otherwise excellent.
08 August 2004, 10:01 AM
im looking at my camera now. the metal seems spot on. it does have a slight metallic sprey kinda feel to it, like half way between metal plastic, or even spreyed plastic

Nice!.. it's good to see some product visualization here for a change. Couple of tiny things..
The flash is a bit overly bright and obvious, could be a bit less white and show more variation in the reflection. Also the cyan cast on the top (prob. from the HDRI reflection) could be desaturated a bit. Really love the finger grip:thumbsup:, perfect.
As for the camera... well I had the old P1 and just threw it in the bin and bought a canon EOS D instead... and a nikon coolpix for snaps and textures. Much happier now.:D

nice model..very whell done....the modeling..the materials....I know the real model too and is pretty much the same..love it :applause:
