Does xsi have anything like Hypervoxels from lightwave, Fluid dynamics in Maya or Afterburner from 3dsmax?

Particle Simulation is XSI's biggest weakness... you can get good effects from it's particle system, but other packages are often the more logical choice for particle sim... I'm expecting a solid particle system upgrade at 4.5 or 5, but that's more me hoping than knowing.

While I beleive Particle simulation itself is rather strong in XSI(animation/effectors/goals etc..) You can generate some very fluid and beautiful movements with particles in XSI however when it comes to particle shading options is where it rather weak. Still with enough work you can produce some results as good as in other applications.
For a few basic tutorials on smoke/fire/cloud you might want to look here:
Volume Ciggarette Smoke shader tutorial (the original tut was in english at www.hamiltoonz.com (http://www.hamiltoonz.com) but seems to be now defunct?) Tutorial below is in french but still easy to follow some good looking results too and you can use this shader for generating other effects(gas flame?) amungst many others I'm sure.
