Hi Guys, this is my first real touch with Maya dynamics and particles. This short animation is the result of my effort. There are 4 pics so u can take a look and decide wether you want download 5mb animation in wmv format. PLS...Be harsh....I want to learn...
Here is the animation

I'm no dynamics/particles expert, so my advice would be just to "Keep practicing!" It looks very very good to me for a first try. Perhaps you could work on making your water coming from the pipe puddle on the ground. There are ways to make particles collide with each other, but I forget how - you could use that to make a simple fluid (assuming you don't have Maya Fluids.... I know I don't).

The sound was very staticy though... at least to me.

For a first try that looks pretty good. I am new to dynamics, but I will try to give you some help on your water flow. The particles need to split atleast 3 times. I can't tell if you are doing this, so I'll just give you what was suggested to me. Set your particle collision events to emit split to 5 then those particles split to 2 and those particles just bounce once. Of course you need to change the radius pp if you are using Blobby for the water.
Your tornado is very nice with the control of the particle instances happening.

I hope this helps
