View Full Version : Head modelling tutorial - now online

Hello, my new tutorial, modelling a whole head has gone online on 3dluvr, so go check it out! I hope it helps someone. Its about 14 pages, with each page a full size progress shots from the 3d modelling program I am using (maya) but the technique can be applied to almost any program on the market.


I modelled the head poly-by-poly. Heres a few pictures of the head:

Excellent. I'm checking it out now. I looked at your 3ds max tutorials for head modeling. Very good. I know this is for Maya, but maybe I can still use it as a guide for 3ds max. You do excellent work, this is awesome.

danniesanchez, umm, its not a video.. but if you mean the timelapse on my site, its TechSmith codec.

dcmoutinho: press the thumbnails to get larger images in popup window...if you dont get those popup windows, it might be because of some popup blocker your using.

Hey detonum,

Very cool tut. I skimmed through it and it looks very good. I like the fact that you didn't use precise reference photos. Think I'll go through the whole thing as my next tut project.

its good but the pictures are abit small and can't see them very well.

At first I also thought the images were small. They are, however, clickable. In a pop-up window, the fullsize screen cap will be shown.

Really cool tut! Are you really born in 1990 (detonum)? That's fabulous.
