20min ps

Nice work Goro i like the way you often manage to get the right mood/scene across with quite minimal paint!

What happened to Sketch 39? Or am I going silly?:p

07-13-2004, 03:06 PM
Well this is a first time for me, tools pretty limited at the mo, so i just used flash to sketch out my idea. Hope that isn't breaking the rules.

I also have no access to my FTP to upload so it's an attachment for the mean time.

About 20 mins work

Just realised i put the sun on the wrong side for the shadow!!! aww well silly me....

edit edit...
Fixed the sun because it bugged me too :D

07-13-2004, 03:18 PM
Nice one goro, I like how the pic suggests so much with so little.

TheFreak: I like it, the sun on the wrong side makes it slightly funny.

07-13-2004, 03:40 PM
Goro: very nice one!

45 mins, photoshop:

07-13-2004, 04:06 PM
drumwhore: kickass picture.
goro: I second supervlieg.

not too much inspiration on the tower.
This might be the last sketch for the upcoming 6 weeks: I'll be off having holiday this weekend and I'm moving so I might be too busy.

anyway you guys will see me back here for sure :)

The tower

Photoshop/Wacom/1 hour.

I had a hard time coming up with a sketch. But towers and swamps go together pretty well, so there you go.

Garma: Nice one. Dont stay away too long.
Drumwhore: Good colors.
Squee: Again great chaos. How about introducing some colors into it?

07-13-2004, 05:11 PM
Great work to everyone so far. Hopefully I'll get a chance to participate on this one...

07-13-2004, 05:55 PM
Painter, little over an hour.

I haven't been able to see any of drumwhores pictures this far, MyIE2 must have a grudge against that domain or something. Judging by your comments, I'm obviously missing something... Anyone else have this problem?

07-13-2004, 05:57 PM
my version, Illustrator 20 minutes.

Ok Sagi stay where you are right now, the Cgtalk Forum Police is on the way.
It is obvious to the covenant that you need to a reindoctrination.

07-13-2004, 07:40 PM
felt like doing another one, I thought I could do better, talking from a creativ point of view.

07-13-2004, 08:33 PM
Didn't have much time for this one today so please forgive the blatant using up of the top space. There was going to be a prince riding away after realising the beautiful princess wasn't what she seemed...but I have a freezer to install!!

1hr - PS + Wacom.

07-13-2004, 08:34 PM
my first post! ps 1 hour wacom. i was at the falls yesterday.

I felt like doing one with the dark night. So I did this in the fast and sloppy way!

I like the colors Jeroentje!
Garma: You just keep getting better.

07-13-2004, 10:16 PM
Yes Roberto...... I was wrong.... the daily sketch should always come first...
althought by looking at my sketch perhaps it would have been better not to post..

Photoshop 15 minutes (sorry no time)

1.5-2h Photoshop

07-13-2004, 10:47 PM
Wowzer! Excellent work once again StephenS, Supervlieg and Jeroentje.

All very different - i'm gonna have to try some of these different brushes.

07-13-2004, 11:17 PM
Ok, I would like to post my image, but I am not seeing exactly how to do this. Any help is appreciated.

07-14-2004, 12:02 AM
WOW some great work here, i really need to learn to use photoshop and the like :P

DMerchen: I don't think you have enough posts to attach yet so you will need to upload your pic to an HTTP address and then link to it from there using the "Insert Image" button at the top of the posting tool thing.

There are some free image hosts out there to use, don't know any off hand though. Or if you have webspace you can use that....

07-14-2004, 12:09 AM
Just search this website's FAQ for how to post images.
I can't believe how long it has taken me to get involved with this. Man, I've been missing out!
Here is mine:

07-14-2004, 12:19 AM

:| It's been SO long since I've gotten a chance to post, time to start back up.

PS - 1hr

The quality of all of your sketches are improving dramatically. Todays topic provided some exceptionally well done pieces. :D

07-14-2004, 03:29 AM
Thanks for thye assistance with the posting of pictures. This is of course my first post. That doesn't mean I haven't been here for a while watching all of this fantastic work being displayed. I am so impressed and inspired by these works, I just don't have enough time sometimes. Summertime so I am renovating a kitchen and working my regular job. I figured I needed to jump in sometime though, so here it is.

30 Min in Painter Classic :) with Wacom Tablet

07-14-2004, 04:03 AM
goro - damm thats effective
supervlieg - that first one is friggin great

25 mins in photoshop. that Mario RPG I love that old game :)

07-14-2004, 07:03 AM
Great paintings as always, guys and gals! In this forum I see a bundle of creativity and skill every day. It's amazing!

Quick one again. Don't seem to have the time anymore...

Remember, One a day, keeps unemployment away.

07-14-2004, 07:08 AM
thnx for your nice words guys! Glad you like it.

Stephan.S nice atmosphere!

RobertoOrtiz nice concept. But I think the contrast is too strong. The tower in the sky
could use some depth fog and should recieve more pink light from the sky.
just a thought....

07-14-2004, 07:09 AM

OK, who ordered the cheese!

Photoshop and Wacom.
This took probably 4hrs. That's long, even for me. No idea why. Just kinda zoning out at the computer tonight I guess. And at the start of the 4 hours, seemed like a brilliant idea.
(Hope this doesn't violate any rules)

I agree with MVP: StephenS, Supervlieg and Jeroentj are probably my favorites so far, along with Squee and Garma (the second one is probably one of my favorites of yours, Garma).

The last batch of stuff to come in (including the new guys) are pretty amazing too. Everybody seems up for this topic!

07-14-2004, 07:41 AM
made me laugh, tservo. made me laugh. :D

opencanvas in like...30-35 mins?

07-14-2004, 07:50 AM
nice work fellows:

Supervlieg: vier cool man, and hour is fast. I sort of stole the lighting from you for my second pic, hope you dont mind :D
Teom: cool perspective
Spirogyro: great reflection in the water
jeroentje: very cool use of colors
johweedee: welcome man, I like the surrealistic feeling of the tower, like it's ghosting :)
Dexter: weird but cool
J_Grieve: the acrylic works quite good, maybe a bit too much colors near the lightning crash.
Supervlieg: amazing, a bit too dark tho. some highlights would be cool. Still very moody
stephan.s: still wondering how you do this. It seems to me you're drawing random strokes looking at the bushes, but somehow it turns out amazing. how long did this take you?
Russell_Collins: cool tower, but the lighting is off :) but the tower is definately cool
Rikaro: nice concept :)
iamintricate: great to see you're back, with a cool picture too: cool colors
DMerchen: I see where you're coming from, summertime is a busy time. You have a great style
RobertoOrtiz: can't see your picture :)
tservo: great work, too bad it's the same idea as iamintricate's, but still cool execution

ow and thanks for the nice comments everyone :)

07-14-2004, 08:02 AM
tservo: great work, too bad it's the same idea as iamintricate's, but still cool execution

Thanks Garma. It's strange because I saw iamintricate's as I was getting going, but didn't clue in to what it was 'till I got ready to post. The fact that it works as both a futuristic building and a cpu is part of the beauty of the piece, I guess, (along with the awesome use of color. I wanna do that.).

I don't think anyones gonna get them confused anyway! ;) (I got a lot to learn).

1: Yes, get your sketch in before 4 pm.
2: Your choice, but best to enter this one, and one in the new subject after 4 pm.
3: 24 hours
4: Yes, check the sticky for possible subjects, and add a few yourself.

Supervlieg: amazing, a bit too dark tho. some highlights would be cool. Still very moody
1st: Thats okay, you made a nice one out of yours.
2nd: Your right about the darkness. I was working on a bright computer. I fixed it now, and added some highlights as you suggested.

07-14-2004, 01:40 PM

Had chores on my mind. No matter how many dishes you wash
there's still a tower of 'em waiting for you.
