View Full Version : Thread Images not being displayed
07-13-2004, 08:41 AM
On some of the threads ( I've just finished reading the SUB'D Modelling one on the Max forum ) some of the images are not displayed, there is just a placeholder ( small white box with an X in the middle ). I tried show images from my browser but it does help not BUT some images do display automatically ( seem to be GIf's and JPEG's ) and any attachments work fine.
Does anybody know why some of these do not display.

It's probable that the images that don't display are being hosted on a website that isn't working when you try to view them. (Or the person has gone over a bandwidth quota or something).
The other possibility is that they're images in a format that your browser doesn't support (eg. you have a five-year-old copy of IE and the image is a PNG file).
If you point me at a thread I can have a look?

Wow that's a long (and old) thread!
I've looked through a bunch of the pages, I can't see any missing images... but I didn't exactly read through all 50+ pages ;)
Is there a specific page missing images? Were they attatched images that you had to click on to open, or were they just automatically displayed inside the post?

Got it :)
All of the images were hosted on http://www.vi2.com/, but are no longer hosted there. (Presumably they've been removed permanently... I can't see any links to them on the site either.
If they're really important, you can try contacting the owner of that site to see if he still has a copy.

Thankyou, that's fine, at least I know the cause of the missing images.
