well I haven't posted for a while!!
photoshop : 50minutes
comments: well I was trying to just express the anguish of maybe someone looking on at the disaster, face lit up by the volcanic eruption.

@augustus : nice sketch, i like it. you capture reall feeling in that composition.
@drawMonger : very funny, i like the "un" sunburnt legs.
@PowerChild : nice little comedy sketch, I like the cartoony feel and the way you've used the highlights to bring out the detail.
well C&C anyone?

Here is mine.. havent posted all weekend (not much I can do when the lab at school is closed)..
I like my little city, first time I make an "enviorment" the sky, well I was not sure how to make it... I know lava would not flow like that it was more an imagery of fire coming down...
anyways it is what it is....
Photoshop 1 hour 30 minutes.

20 min sketch, then 1.5 hours in photoshop.
She's supposed to be a human sacrifice, but looks more like she's gonna dip her toes into a swimming pool. I'm happy about the lava and the cloud but not much else. Hmph.

I can't decide on this one. The original was very grey and I wanted something with a higher chroma so I multiplied the values with a higher chroma overlay and got something a bit more constrasty while still respecting some of the soft colors and light. I'm still not happy tho :| As Robert Schmidt says, you're not finished with a painting until it looks exactly as you have it in your head (or somethign to that effect o_O). Either way I'm still a bit meh about it :| I was painting also the dragon from yesterday but err I didn't like that one either :D man I'm so undecided.
1 hr in photoshop/wacom

@ cadaloo : hehe - keep it up.
@ teknotek : like the eprspective and the brush strokes, has nice relaxed feel about it!
@ CybrGfx : Not bad, but i think the noise detracts from it if anything.
@ Stephan.S : very nice, i think this has to be my favourite for the moment!
@ Garma : cheers mate and rock on. I'm liking it, though the estuary looks i might weird, I think the eprspective isn't quite right around that area.
@ Cyanid : very dramatic, there's a real sense of movement and action in this one.
@ sagi_13 : not bad, but could do with a little more work.
@ pearblossom : i like this dark feel you got going there.
@ Ilikesoup : thats quite a fun pic, I like it.
@ agentJ : nice brush strokes there. You really get across a powerful scene.
@ Downwrdspiral : hehe, thats gonna hurt in the morning. Like the concept.
@ zem : another funny one, yay. Nice one.
well I had a bit of a tamper with my earlier attempt, here's what I came up with, I guess and added 15 minutes to my original time. I took agentJ's comment to heart and just contrasted more. Not an image to be viewed in a screen with any kind of reflection or glare acting on it :D
