beatifull work! :buttrock:

i love the artnuvo feel of the adds a certain elegance although it does take it to a more grafic/poster oriented art rather then pure concept art (maybe that's what you wanted in the first place so it's cool either way:) )

i do feel that certain parts of the image are much more detailed than others, say the hair of the girl in comperison to the spear...this creates unwanted focal points and breaks up the image rather than creating a whole painting.

the light in the image is the same all over...her legs are as bright as her head,
a light at it's strongest on the face and deminishing as it goes down will focus our attention better on the girl.

i would think of adding some straps to the dress as now it seems the only thing holding it up is the brouche connected to her chest...(ouch)

another thing is the lions body which doesn't connect to the head very well..there's like a 90 degree angel between the two which doesn't seem natural (i'de recommand looking at art by frank frazeta...he's a big cat master!)

i hope my advice helps (i wouldn't even say it if i didn't think the work was realy good to begin with)

Really great piece. Colors, composition, and figures are superb.

PLUGGED on the front page!

07 July 2004, 02:52 PM
I'm speechless as well...
compliments on the beautiful woman / goddess you've been able to create.
i'd love to see more work you've done, feel free to contact me through my email...

07 July 2004, 03:07 PM
Fantastic idea and the women's expression is very original when compared to a lot of the other works I've seen lately.

07 July 2004, 03:36 PM
The detail is great, even under the etheral material (which is painted beautifully by the way) you can still make out the entire figure. i love the colours, and the two different eye colours make it even more brilliant. :applause:

07 July 2004, 03:49 PM
I love it love it love it! its flooding sensualaty! congratulations!

07 July 2004, 03:56 PM
Mucho Mucho Mocha! Quite FABULOUS!

This definitely pays tribute to his work, with a new spin in painterly style. Love the painterly design cresent behind her reminescent of the design above her head. I would like see it pushed even further in respect to intergrating the design work with the hair, behind her, her dress and behind her.

very sexy too.

07 July 2004, 04:38 PM
I agree, it looks great as well. however, im not so sure about the lion. anatomically, it looks a bit off.

07 July 2004, 04:57 PM
Five stars!

you are a great artist my friend, excellent skillzz. her beauty is outstanding elegant and ah sensual, although it's not explicit and favorers more lovable artistic side, hope to see more of your work in the future..

PS: you Koreans really kick @ss

07 July 2004, 05:08 PM
Very beautiful!! Look forward to your future work

Do you mind sharing how long it took you to complete and at what page size / resolution you worked in? thanks!

07 July 2004, 05:28 PM
It's my new desktop picture, thanks

07 July 2004, 05:28 PM
I like the lady, the Lion however isn't as majestic as I'd imagine the "king of the jungle". It's because the face is large yet the hair around it is too small in comparison: Looks like he got it cut. Overall I feel only the woman and the Lion's face got all the love. The rest of the Lion didn't get as much of your attention. Am I wrong?
Still a good drawing, good style.

07 July 2004, 05:33 PM
this is really nice. excellent ~:buttrock:
please come to this site often~ :) welcome~

07 July 2004, 05:44 PM
sweet job, it feels like a brothers hildebrandt painting. It's very good. And who could dislike that nice art nouveae look? Good job my friend!

07 July 2004, 05:46 PM
I love the vibrant colors. Beautiful work.

07 July 2004, 06:28 PM
wow a master piece, if the staff is longer it's look perfect ;)

07 July 2004, 06:39 PM
simpely awsome...

idont know whether i liked ur goddess or her lion......? :D
i luv her psture her cloth (they way its rendered) her complction.. her eyes...
and everything backgroung remings me stainglass work and those huge
rose windows of old churches.... simply fantastic and lovely....
keap it up man.. ;)

07 July 2004, 06:40 PM
tan lines! i can see she has tanlines around the waist. Was she sun bathing inbetween being a goddess and stuff?

07 July 2004, 07:06 PM
Did she loose one of her contacts?

Just kidding, that's a beautiful drawing, i love the form and the subject.

Best wishes,
S9 Design

07 July 2004, 07:52 PM
holy cow!

07 July 2004, 08:18 PM
Excellent technical skills. I'm not a fan of your subject matter, although it would look great on black velvet or the side of a van.
The lion looks small comapred to her. Or maybe she's bigger becasue she is a goddess?

Congrats on the front page!!

07 July 2004, 08:24 PM
thats a sweet pic.. although the lion doesn't look very intimidating...looks partially retarded actually. If the lion looked a lot more fierce with nice long thick hair this pic would be insane.
that chicks dress (if you want to call it that) looks really cool.. nice effect.

07 July 2004, 08:48 PM
i love "art noveau" style, nice draw.

I have one question, in wich part of your work you use Photoshop and when Painter? thanks!

07 July 2004, 09:06 PM
Awsome work!!

07 July 2004, 09:41 PM
Fantastic piece absolutley love it. I read throught the crit and a lot of mentions about the lion, i have to agree with a few people the head is fantastic but maybe the rest of the body could use a bit more attention especially the legs, but most of all the lion itself looks too small, i know she is a godess but it seems as though the lion is her gardian and i feel it should be a lot bigger and intimidating. Those little things aside, it looks superb keep up the great work.

Top Banana.

07 July 2004, 09:45 PM
love this

07 July 2004, 11:50 PM

07 July 2004, 12:40 AM
Can't see it....

07 July 2004, 01:12 AM
I never expected this could be happen!!

my web account was over traffic!!!

I just reset my account and now there should be no trouble seeing it.. i hope...

and so many posts too. I really need time to read-through...

07 July 2004, 07:47 AM
First of all, thank you all for all these attentions and comments!!

It took me hours to read through all the posts. lol
I really did not think it could come this far. All I ever wanted was some critics that I could learn from.

As many of you see, the lion was a hot potato for me and it still is.. :P
One thing I surely learn from this work is I really need to study anatomy.
And will do better next time :)

>>drawMonger : It took me about a month. I barely had a time during weekdays so I concentrated in my work on weekends. I worked in 3000 x 2180 size , 200ppi(300 was just too big for me)

>>mehdianim : You are right. I should have look at the whole painting and focus equally. Thanx for advice!

>> Is-boset : I used painter in most of my work and photoshop to balance colors and final adjustments.

Again, thank you.

07 July 2004, 04:21 PM
Wow, great piece. Very lush and the great use of colors just makes this painting alive.

07 July 2004, 09:51 PM

>>Silje: I'll try other color with nails next time may be rad? And about the ears.. well I thought that the ears would not be able to see covered with his mane. but again I can be wrong and I need to see more of animals.
