I've got a couple days of free time to work on this. Here's my progress so far. I'm also searching for references to finish the back side. Going for the hi-res to normal map route.

I'm just curious why you are modeling him already posed... It's quite fetching though.

You are starting with a posed high poly? This may end up a little difficult to rig once you got the low poly n everything.

As everybody say here, do not model a posed character! If I understadn right, you want use normal map from an high-res model on the low-poly one. I would advise you to model your character without posing it in low-poly first and model the high-res one from the low mesh then. Will be easier this way!

Yeah, it looks a bit dangerous, modeling that way, but I assume you are trying to avoid rigging it later. Just keep in mind, even if you don't rig it, you still want to design the model with the rig in mind - e.g. the modle could potentially animate. Still, it looks really cool - I can't wait to see the finished product!

i seen great gundam models made like that cant wait to see this guy finished Goki/Akuma rules no one can defeat him and his dark hado

you say don't knock it unless you've tried it. but i have tried it. and when you go to take that character out of said pose by (trying to at least) rig & binding it. if he's just going to stand there, that's cool but if you try to move him, it's going to be a complete pain in the ass.
his ears look a little pointy in the picture but in the side on the model they look like elf ears. looks ok so far, but wasn't someone else doing akuma already?
