View Full Version : Main problem with Nurbs is Tangency

Nurbs is no doubt great way to model organic surfaces.

But there is not much problem in modeling individual surfaces of single
the problem is how to control tangency in each surfaces to finally attach
all the surfaces seemless.

I havent used Rhino but having this problem in 3ds max and maya.

can anyone state a custom way to maintain tangeny in all the surfaces
when modeling.
or any tutorial showing any technique.

Nurbs is about drawing while polygonal technique is about sculpting.

and Drawing helps creating models faster.

There are techniques to patch modeling. I use Maya, where attach/detach/rebuild (while keeping cv's) works well between any two patches. The trick is to get multipule patches attached at their intersection.

For that there are some mel's around, like point avarage, and planarize.

This will be the "home made" solution, while working for a company, well, they have software to take care of that.
